  1. do i simpley just remove the old seal and lightly work the new one in or do i have to drop the crank like a 350 and put it in that way i couldnt find much in the search... maybe im not looking hard enough but anyone that has done it give me a short rightup
  2. my question is... what is that seal called because autozone didnt show any seals for the front of the engine. is it front main or what (the seal behind the crank pully) and how hard is that gonna be to change?
  3. why not just use the cargo cover to cover the sub thats what i did on my 91 loyale and i used one of the low profile subs in my brat those things are pretty good
  4. im talking about my 1983 brat i do have a 91 Loyale, 87 RX and a 02 WRX tho and neither of the EA82 have the TOD
  5. how do i tell if it's a hydro block or a solid lifter block..... i assume loose valves can lead to some gas milage loss but im unsure if i have a hydro or solid lifter block do i need to check the vin but then i dont know if the engine had ever been replaced im lost anyone wanna shed some light on this situation?
  6. i have those fog lights on my brat but when i pull the switch they come on as well as the high beams turn on very slightly is that normal? or do they needa be rewired
  7. my brat was doing the same thing then i put a weber on it and supprise NO MORE FLAT spot off idle and cruising maybe u should try that
  8. by the way how big is a 1983 gl brat gas tank my gas gauge is broken hahaha just go 200 miles and fill it?
  9. me driving with my very VERY heavy foot i got 24 MPG the plugs are PERFECT color no complaints i wonder what kinda gas milage i could get if i drove with a egg under the peddle also thats around town to work and back haha

Cruise Limit : HC (PPM) 220 CO (%) 1.2 Cruise Emissions: 462(FAIL) 5.13 (FAIL) Idle Limit: HC (PPM) 220 CO (%) 1.2 Idle Emissions 1192(FAIL) .44 (PASS) Anyone have a idea on whats going on or anyone had this problem with theres.... engine was rebuilt 50,000 ago and is still tight very little blow by runs smoooth no misses..... turbo still alive and kicking no oil leaks or burning im at my end with this subaru it's about to go to the Junk Yard
  11. so is it pretty good that the car fires right up after i primed it and all i had to do was turn the idle screw down a little bit to idle at 800 rpm
  12. Its done only took me 2 hours My question is what is this and how do i removed it i capped it for now unless im told not to or how to remove it cause it's loud! P.S. GD this is what my kit cam with roight out of the box cause u were wondering

  14. how hard is it to change the oil pump gasket car still has good oil pressure... 25 at idle and 50 at cruise. also the pan gasket is leaking to how hard is that to change i notice there are a few bolts on the back of the pan covered by the crossmember. does this require unbolting the motor mounts and jacking it up?
  15. sure will when i get it GD just gotta wait for it to come ups to me lol the told me it was jetted and everything was in the kit from a 1.5inch filter to the neccessary items to attach the linkage i guess we'll have to see how reputable they reallyare huh? lol

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF ..... after i bought the weber and got it on it's way to my house i go fill up my brat cause my gas gauge showed 1/4 of a tank i got 25 mpg..... i have no idea what happened.... maybe making the vacuum advance work helped or the computer had to relearn everything although i donno if thats possible on this old tech...
  17. i got it from a Redline dealer in Yakima washington very reputable been around a long time who is getting rid of obsolet stock
  18. the kit i bought is jetted for the ea81 and includes the 1.5 filter and linkage parts and it came witha 12 month 12,000 mile warrenty if that means anything...
  19. well.... i bought a new 32/36 DGEV weber conversiont kit for 350.... we'll c how it goes i guess should have it by tuesday.... and lets hope that helps my fuel economy... anyone have a write up on how to do a weber conversion as regaurds to vacuum lines to block and vacuum lines needed...
  20. ive been throwing around the idea..... i have a brand new pic 34 VW beetle carb.... would i be able to make that economical if i built a adapter and what not lol
