  1. thanks soo much GD, I was hoping I would have someone like you chime in. Heading out there now.
  2. Sweet. Is this a constant power for the memory? The reason I ask is it functions just doenst ALWAYS hold memory? If there were a loose connection it would also act this way. Ill try to finagle my hand up there to chech. Thanks soo much! Jess
  3. And still, all I find for timing is just to set it to 8 deg btdc. I cant find exact steps how to time an ea81, as if we were working on a long block. There is another line on the flywheel. The p.o. has this line marked w/ white nail polish. It has nothing to do w/ the timing marks, any idea what it is? Is it like the 3 marks on an ea82?? If anyone has this info, it would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks soo much guys for the help! I got every thing assembled and she fired up! Problem im having now is timing. Never timed one of these ea81's I know the ea82 is a little different than a normal car. I searched the forum last night for about an hour for timing to no avail. She idles great but no power when throttle is applied. When I throw a timing light on there I cant even see the numbers on the flywheel. So I set the flywheel to 0deg, with the #1 piston at tdc and the rotor facing the #1 sparkplug. Fire it up and it wont even start? hmm The p.o. Has everything set up wrong, it gives me nothing to go off of. As soon as I find the correct firing order and timing, this pig is going to run! I really wish I had a book for this damn thing. Thanks Jess
  5. Bump Works a day or so, then out of no where clears it self? Any Ideas? I had pulled the dash to swap the heater core, I really didnt think I missed any plugs?
  6. Ok. The manifold I got has a few things capped? Not knowing where things go I didnt know to pull all the caps off. This waterline is capped and I dont know If its required or can be capped off? Thanks
  7. Sorry, very tired I need an over head view of the manifold and a pic of the fuel line/ return line/ filter ect. mayber a pic from drivers side and pass side? I guess as many pix as possible will help? I am going to just print them and try to finish it. Thanks a bunch guys! trying to make this thing go tomorrow! Jess
  8. The person that was going to help me with my ea81 w/ weber over to my house, can not make it for a week. I got the car pretty much bare and have never even seen an ea81 before. I dont know where things go and what I need and dont need. I remember a few things that he explained I needed to do on the swap but dont remember the rest I have the block off things for both exhaust, egr b/s I have the climate control figured out. I have that one large compression fitting/bolt on the back of intake manifold figured out. I have the power brake booster figured out I have the vacume advance figured out I have the pass side coolant line figure out but not the driver side? It seems to be blocked off on the new intake manifold? I wish there were people closer that knew these ea81's I have a few cut wires and dont have the slightest clue where they go? I need a few pictures from you guys under the hood of a weber swap, PLEASE. Just not sure what im doing. I know its simple but just want to do it right.
  9. Cant wait to see how this turns out. Dont want to do the wiring for the swap just yet but have a ea82 wagon out front just itching for major lift w/ t-case w/ ej swap. Whats the price on the bell housing adaptor plate and carb adaptor??
  10. Cut the steering knuckle in half, slide each one into position and measure bewtween the two. I have an aftermarket dual core radiator. Its lower hose is in a different possition. It had to be changed on mine. Pull your o2 sensor wire free from the firewall so you dont pull on that. I had to "rework" my 4wd shifter, to get it into 2wd. If you just slide it up into 4wd before you start. You can just come back to it when your done. Scott pretty much has ya covered.
  11. Oh ya, what he said. I was lacking the E10 torx socket. Thinking I could only find it from snap on. I ended up finding it from harbor freight.
  12. I guess organic cheese is better than GOVERNMENT CHEESE
  13. ^ You should order two. Keep one as a spare.
  14. AHHH his car makes mine look stock height! Must......Go.....Larger........ Its great how small stuff looks on camera compared to in person. Thanks for the pix. If we had stuck around longer I would have gotten alot of them. I wish I would have gotten video of you going up broke axle hill. We will try again in a few weeks. Hopefully get some more roo's out there too. Jess
  15. Ok, so rooinator just broke his rear axle and we had to run back to belfair. He is going to bremerton to get a new one. I am waiting in the QFC parkinglot, or roaming around belfair. He should be here in an hour, if anyone wants to meet us here. Jess
  16. Damn then the tires I got free on the brat aren't going to hack it. I'm not sure the a/t's I have on then wagon are any good in gooy mud either? Hmmm Jess
  17. OK OK Im going to shoot to make this one. But in my brat! Ill be putting all my time till then into it. Just dont know what Im going to do about tires. Maybe get away w/ the ones I have. UNLESS the subaru does well tomorrow then ill just take that. It would be better for the drive up. Ill let you guys know Jess
  18. OMG Im soo glad our subys are soo tough! Crazy link Alaska
  19. Ok If you have any question (like I did) about what and where to grind on the case when doing the swap. Take the 3.7 and the 3.9 cases, side by side w/ the rear cover off and look on the inside on the drivers side diff cap. Note the Grind marks that are not on the 3.9 case. Its really not that much. Its just enough to get the ring gear teeth to clear the case. Dont fret, A carbide bit takes it down very quickly. If you keep the 3.7 case next to you when grinding you can look back and forth at how much you need to take out, instead of cleaning and test fitting a bunch. I have done a few diffs in the past few years that didnt use shims to set backlash, they can be difficult! If you are worried about this swap dont be. Its very simple. Just make sure you keep everything seperate, get your side caps on the correct side and keep a very clean area. You should have no issues. Jess
  20. DONE, DONE and DONE. LSD is in the 3.9 housing. I got the E10 torx from Harbor Freight as a set of E4-E10 for $7. No shaving it fit like a glove. I am loading the car now so I dont have to do it tomorrow. As I live an hour or so away. Come on guys, its gunna be a nice day! Jess
  21. Giving this a bump. Where are the members south of seattle but north of portland? Jess
  22. Weak! I was willing to pay what ever? I was tying to be as clear a possible....What about the items we knew would be cheap? Jess
  23. Ok so how bout the rear sliding pass side window locks? I still really need those. Thanks anyway! Jess
  24. I have lotsa $ in my pay pal acct.Just gimme a price (reasonable). 1. whole assembly 2. Top crome piece. 3.pass side t-top latch 4.both t-tops. if there about what I was quoted over here. (about $30ish each +/-) only if they come w/ perfect glass and rubber. Ill add 3percent and shipping. Thanks so much Jess
