  1. for an expieriment... paint it subie rally blue but... no... i dont think it would do that hatch justice... but do it anyways! oh yeah dont forget the BBS golds! yeah that wouldnt do it justice either.... hmmm....
  2. well for number 1... it could be your secondary sticking... we had to replace the carb on the 86 GL.. afterwards it worked perfect.... (hehe i think its so funny that it has 1) hey what did the noise sound like.. you mean like screeching or engine noises or just sucking wind???
  3. Oh oH oH OHHH yeah my Gl-10 has the digi, its cool and all.. until the sun hits it and you cant see anything, anyways... my temp gauge always jumps around.. it goes up down.. maybe even side to side it can never make up its damn mind!
  4. Twin turbos are neat...but not as efficient in a subie.. plus... a bigass turbo does a subie justice... i am really interested in superchargers in subies though.. not many do it!
  5. On my broinlaws 86 GL all we did was keep the engine at about 3grand and spray tons and tons of carb cleaner in it (the car was runnin real bad when we got it!) and it is a lot more responsive... well... at least as responsive as one would think :-p
  6. whe you say Ej22t are you keeping the turbo on there 2??? somehow making it a dual ramsystem hehe "ram air" it sounds so musclecarish!
  7. My GL-10 has 2... if that helps.. its MPFI... i just ran out there to check... any reason is a good reason when it comes to opening the hood!
  8. That is so ugly (translation to subaru lang) That is so beautiful!

About the rear... Nothing a little welding and JB weld and Ducktape and a few zipties wont correct!

That has to be one of the most complicated/cool things that a soobie this old will ever get!! I LOVE IT!
  11. I like DOHC.... like the ej25 found the the RS because... the sti 3 gen has heads for it.. i think it was the 3... i gotta do some research..nevermind to sleepy... but i like 2 better than 1... more moving parts WHO CARES!
  12. Make the most bad rump roast H-6 or... raise from the dead Subarus old flat 12 f1 racing engine.....i think it was a flat 12.. i forgot.. and make it even better and of course.... change all the fluids to syn and... make it run on hydrogen and..... sleep in it awww i am a dreamer Hey can we spend it on tools for our soobie also??? because i would own Snap-On if it were the case!
  13. really??? i didnt know that.. cool!
  14. Id go wit a 2.5 and just put a lightend flywheel on it... itl sound good and... if its pushing a rail.. it'l go like smash! (lots and lots of people use ej's for sandrails! tough, reliable, and they soobies sound so nice!)
  15. I like GL-5 Synthetic... "you cant go wrong with the one thats ment for them all"
  16. ok today i just got my tensioners and belts.. from http://www.1stsubaruparts.com i liked the service...had to wait while they orderd the parts (out of stock) but they expidited the service for me free.. just because i waited an extra 4 days for them to get it! so you should try them out.. there all oem parts.. some of its pricey but i paid it for my tensioners and belts.. things like waterpump i'd get from napa and you should also replace your themostat! napa quoted me on it for like 8 bucks or somethin
  17. yeah you have to remember this IS a subaru were talking about here... itl take anything you wana give it... i bet if you peed in the fuel tank , just to get home, it would work!
  18. hehehe i know.. im a timing belt nerd.. check the distributor to see if the rotors turning.. REMEMBER WHERE YOUR WIRES GO!!!! or youll be even more screwed for the time being.. if its not.. well.. we'll know what to do!
  19. beataru replied to Jibs's topic in Off Road
umm about the optima... my roo is still dead but (timing tensioner failed) .. i had to use crank the starter over 50 times with for at least 10 seconds... while i was figuring out the problem.. and also.. while i moped around in my roo i was listening to the stereo for around 20 mins (its rallyrusses old roo, Nice sound set-up) and then it still cranked it easily for me to get it in its spot in my driveway (My avitar Pic.... yes.. its still sitting there) OPTIMAS RULE
  20. ehhh throwout bearing.. i dont think itll be expensive but... time consuming.... unless youve done it before, (manytimes) i know ive done it once, it can take a while.. shouldnt be too expensive though i mean come on.. these are subies... (cries at his $60.00 timing tensioners that are on their way!)
  21. it would be preety pimpin to have a variable speed fan in my subie .. you guys have tried everything....
  22. ok i see what you guys are saying.. thanks for the info peeps!
  23. I know what the 928 is (its was to replace the 911.. it didnt work) the reason i want them is because they were ment to stop a hugely gigantic car... not for the name along the side. i mean think about it... I would have to get ABS to keep from locking them up when i stop at a streetlight... thats power babey!
  24. hahaahaahahahaa... thats mean... i think its normal for a poorly adjusted carb to bogg when you floor it.. its because of the secondary(onlyone!) that dumps a serious amount of fuel all of the sudden into the engine! kinda like smothering than feeding for a split second... or is this more lengthy?
  25. yeah but any old roo can get up to speed if your drafting behind a runaway semi! well... im going to increase the poweroutput of my roo sooner or later.. im more worried about fading resistance like in a big autocross run! where i would go around morethan onces in less than 5 mins!!! in a perfect world (sigh) but... i am going to build up a nicelt forged H-6 or put in an EJ25 and build that up..cant decide... Ej25 can pumpout the power but... who has an H-6 withover 400 horses that (with all the money in the world) revs to 8000 at least!!!
