  1. Wait Wait Wait... Your thermostat is on the top water neck on the motor, not the bottom. And explain a little better the not having a sturdy place to jack...
  2. The Brumby is exactly what you have in your driveway. But never came with the jump seats, and are RHD. Same exact vehicle, just named different in the land down under, and a few other places. Europe they were called MPV, and middle eastern countries they were just simply the Subaru Pickup. BTW... Check out some of MattyB's posts... (you'll enjoy them)
  3. So I'm ok then... Ya'll had me worried I was gonna have to get another centrel diff. So whenever I get it put in the car, just fill it up like normal and I'll be good right... Nip, I've never had an ea82 car, but the ea81 4spd from the brat did leaked out just like the ej 5spd. Are you sure you had fluid in there:lol:
  4. No difference at all. They were availible in 4wd's. I've never seen a factory manual one in person however...
  5. I'm pretty sure he has a set of the 97-99 Legacy GT whels that were for sale a couple weeks ago.
  6. I might have an issue then... When I pulled the trans out of my 90 legacy donor fluid poured out of the back...
  7. I'm taken aback by somebody not liking the hill holder. I love it to death. Especially in the mountains around here. All you need to do to disable it is to take the cable that actuates it off the clutch fork. Completely removing the system will require getting brake lines from an auto car or having lines custom bent. Very costly options considering the easy option. Hell I'll take a picture if you'd like of how to remove the cable...
  8. You are correct.
  9. According to that the ones I have aren't the same as yours. Mine are from a 90.
  10. Thats the way the seats come stock. Welded in... It sound pretty decend from what you've said, just needing a few little things. The ea81 radiator will do fine for the ej22, I would say that you might need a new one though. Like everybody else has said get a feel for Steve before deciding on what to do with him. Each vehicle will have its own personallity about it. He will let you know whats right for him. Whenever you get all the issues worked out on the body and stock motor and cooling system, then worry about getting more power for it. Plenty of super great info on this site for anything you might run up against...
  11. Its not the bigger wheels. Its the shorter sidewall on the times. The tires don't absorb as much road vibrations and such. So it gets transmitted more. It could also be the particular tread pattern making more noise as well.
  12. Use all your 94's sensors, grab the exhaust off the 97, its not dual port like the 94. If the obs is an auto use your 94's intake manifold to avoid the egr system. And plug the holes in the head where the egr goes into.
  13. I spoke with her about my set.
  14. Oh damn... Yeah thats gonna leak...
  15. Thats an evo injector. One could probably make it work.
  16. Any year 2 door impreza belts will work. Call Import Auto Salvage in Salem, VA they usually have a few of these cars sitting around. Also Check with Old Dominion Auto Salvage In Roanoke VA. I don't have the numbers handy but you aren't far from those places...
  17. Agreed. Its nowhere near as gone as my 86...
  18. That pillar isn't a good sign. But does it leak and water? If it doesn't I really wouldn't worry about it myself... You could get a body shop to pull it back out, most nowdays tack weld pull rods onto the metal and can get it straightened out like that. But that would probably get a little spendy if it doesn't leak.
  19. That accel coil probably isn't a good idea...
  20. That has an ej22... No HG issues with that motor unless its been abused. Also torque bind is more prevelant in the gen1 legacy, my mom's 98 has almost 180k on it with never a problem from the trans. And NO repair should cost 3X what you are paying for the car, unless you take it so a shop and they stick it to you hardcore.
