  1. ok the blower motor wont turn on, its been replaced and still nothing. i pluged in a single wire to another wire and a light on the dash lit up [EGR] ??? i dont get it. last one, is the heater control unit supposed to make a air release noise when you push buttons?
  2. ok i took the dash and ac unit out due to it smellin like piss and no heat. i found a rats nest in it awhile back and vaccumed it out. i cleaned the hoses and so on. when pulled it today i took the ac unit apart and found more of the rats nest on top on the heater core. so i cleaned it and now i gotta clean the rest of the dash area put mesh vents over my fresh air ports. and before the dash goes back in im gonna fix the cracks and paint it. so i sanded the cracks then bondo'd them and painted then with krylon H2O paint. for a anti crack and extra protectant. i have carpet to put on the dash! its sweet lookin. i got 1 progress pic so far i will have more tomarrow.
  3. i seen a bigger engine put into a 79? brat. i cant find the page where i saw it. i wanna up grade massively, ej maybe and use my brat engine for project rubasu. the brat i seen was beautiful! under the hood was full! and shiney
  4. ill take pics today. and this bumper design is proven more then good. and the air intake wont matter where its located cause its not breathing under the hood, secret:grin: ... and lining the interrior is cool it looks good but it you dont put somthing down like dynamat first, you will hear alot of road noise. but the rattle can bedliner looks really good on the body. my hood is sprayed with it.
  5. yea... project wont happen for awhile now (somthin came up) so im focusing on lifting my 79 brat (it wont cost as much either) that should get me places:)
  6. see this is why i wan a rally wheeler... i go into the mountains by green water. and im out havin fun then boom a fallen tree or some bigger sized rocks. or a creek. i dont like turning back i wanna go threw it. ive seen custom sand rails made by my friends dads, and they are lifted really good and get sideways around the corners with no problems. thats why im so set on doin it, and a 4x4 would be even better:headbang:
  7. im gonna try it. after i buy a hatch, so i can park it in the shop and do some fab. i got hookups for this. welding is no prob the only thing is 6 lug conversion, but even that isnt big. so ill be set by december. ill post pics of the brat. (i have a awesome snorkle bein made. and the "cab" has been sprayed with bedliner.
  8. so far ive been able to do everything i put my mind to. and yea this is going to be a trail rig. so you think i shold you a ej huh. i thought that would be difficult
  9. so i guess theres no such thing as a lifted rally car that will ride threw a little trail and make it threw a medium mud puttle, and i give up if theres no such thing as widening kits and super durable bearings. forget i even posted this. just know im making a awd sand rail that will conqure the mountains.
  10. im rtyin to get the hatch and wanted to know ahead of time how much a 3 inch lift will be with tires that will fit with crop'd fenders...
  11. yea i sse the problem. but i might be able to make my own deal to suck that rod back in. thanks a ton man. how much would ur way cost?
  12. you guys have alot of doubt. if your rig is lifted with a wide wheel base it will rally u just gotta spin them wheels. and you guys keep gettin the wrong idea. i just wanna go fast on dirt/gravel and be in control (its doable) ill show you once i get started.
  13. sweet! thanx for ur info. i know i will put all of my money into any subaru. I think subaru is the best car made and i will never convert. once i get a few good ones i will be set for life. (a street machine, a rally truck (my brat) and a lifted monster (a hatch) n gotta build my own (from the ground up) to take massive pride in, 'Project RUBASU' the best drifter mudder climber racer on the back roads, givin jeeps somthin ta envy) i dont stop until perfection. no huge dents, good paint job, sweet interior, safty (bars), and the smoothest most powerful engine with some nice lift mixed with mean tires.
  14. i meant off road drifting not drivin on the street. and goin from 1 foot of clearence to 1 1/2 is a good lift reguardless. and lowering wouldnt matter if you know how to make a good rig. (crop the fenders) just fab up some good aluminum ones. plus the croped fenders make it look beefier.
  15. i use to live in shelton. who do you know dow there?
  16. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!! and fixed it. lets chat and ill tell you how.
  17. ha not quite. it doesnt matter when i have bumper supports runing threw the engine compartment to the "frame" theres no worries.
  18. so you have a 4x4 and you like exploring all over but have incounterd some problems, like puddles too deep or mud or fallen trees in ur way forcing you to turn back. wel i have the same problem sometimes. so i was thinkin about a good medium for suspention mods and i thought of air suspention, reason being is i can lower the ru for taking corners (some of us like to go faster than others) and lift it to go over the big stuff or deep stuff. now i havent done this and want to know if i should buy a kit to this. will it work? (i think so)
  19. ok im tierd of bottoming out in my 79 brat so im going to build a beefy toyota puller (a subaru). the frame is a sand rail frame and yes it will be 4x4:headbang: im wondering what subaru i should buy to finnish the frame i was thinkin a 86 wagon. but i dont know what all the modles are like so im asking for input. and i would be able to use a turbo by the way i drive so im wanting a powerful and fast setup. let me know what subaru u think i should use... kody
  20. huh didnt even think of that. but im fabing up some heavy duty bumpers that link into the engine compartment.
  21. ok first thing i did was take out the spare tire, thats where my custom air filter box goes. then if you want a good cheap paint job and hate scuffs, then do what i did and buy the bed liner in a spray can. it looks great and doesnt scuff. and if you hate goin wheelin and comin back with soaked carpet. pull it and lay down some dynamat, then spray the dynamat with the bed liner (acts as a silencer) then get some spray adhesive and lay down custom cut marine carpet (for boats) i just cut the peaces and meand the corners/seams with the bedliner. (i have sprayed the head liner and the back liner) and i have way more for the exterior.. wanna know my mods pm me or just reply:headbang:
  22. im gonna go ahead and drill to fit on some yota rims. (six lug) and some new struts maybe my own lift. ill keep you updated
