and the smoke was probley ur emissions actin up if it backfired at all it coulda sent oil to ur intake. i dont know for sure but thats my best guess. and the bog... put some injector cleaner in ur tank and check ur scu with a comp. set it for "best" performance. like GD said the ecu might be actin like a governer. -
i wouldnt do it. it makes it hard to see at night on the trails.

i suggest buying another EA71 and gettin it stroked, thats the power a 70 some should have. and a turbo for fun, not near as much as a EJ and youll have ur stock just incase you get a little throttle happy n blow somthin (it can happen : ] . if i get 84+ brat ill put a EJ in it but unitl then my 79 is going to modded with a turbo srtoker and some high end ignition units. ; )

1986 subaru sedan. it went into les shwab and came out with a blown cd player and the blower motor quit working, where is the unit in the air duct? -
same here. i know its hard to get urself unstuch in the desert i used to live in parumph nevada. i suggest the tire method, thing is you need a shovel, i have one of those fold up military shovels, and a come along, ive only been high centerd once, thats what i get for playin on a toyota pit with a stock brat. and if you were in wa i would come help too. my little ru pulled a full size toyota with 33's (blown head gasket) and i dont bog anywhere (thats what i get for knowin hot to tune for performance) what carb do you have on ur ru?

Clogged heater core

i had the same problem, except it wasnt in the the core it was on it. my fresh air vents let pine needles and stuff in and cloged the fins which wont let air past to blow out heat... i removed my AC unit or blower housing and took out the core, i sprayed it with water then used a air hose to blow thw rest of the crap out. did this help? -

my brat seems fast! ive owned a 86 fiero, 86 civic, 91 grand am, and diven lots of others. i drove a passat for a day and still like my 79 better. she seems torkier.(beat a dodge neon until 3rd gear and even then it was over) i tap the gas and JUMP! the front end lifts up, just like my moms old duster. and the smell comin from the vents... i can second that. but the system has been bleached so its gone as of yesterday. i can relate to the no carpet and the loud exaust... i cut my shredded carpet out and i have a cherry bomb hooked up right under the drivers seat. (shes soundin good) and i know these are the classic subaru "jeans" but im making it all perfect. no smells no oil leaks no loud "cab" + fast and semi quiet. if i can get a new engine to updrade with ill take my ea71 and make a stroker outta it!

Im there! Evans Creek- This area is open for the winter. The winter closure was retracted due to the work of the PNW4WDA. There is a closed door focus group meeting on oct 24th and a whiter river forest district user meeting(open to public) on Dec 12th at the DNR meeting hall in enumclaw.

theres a way to beat it! i worked at a wrecking yard and seen some neat stuff. find a tank with a float that will mount to yours, heres the thing this type of float has a seprate housing the gas goes in a plastic housing and theres a float inside of that (it helps regulate). instead of the stock float flopin around in ur open tank.

k i gotta check the resistor block in the duct. 'fuses are good' i damn near pulled out all the wires lookin for disconnected wires. (nothing)
