  1. I second the notion. all those in favor say "I" I all those oppose say "nay"......
  2. i know this sounds to obvious to be true, but check all ur spark connections, from coil to disty, to plugs, even the rotor and points. i had a bogging issue a couple weeks back and all it was....2 spark wires that had slipped out of the disty far enough to lose contact but not noticable by just looking at them, i had to replace both wire ends and the disty cap cuz the spark was gapping between the wire and the cap, melted both the cap leads and the wire end. since i fixed that it hasnt happened since. just my 2 cents. hope u figure it out!
  3. way to go Zap, gotta love it when people take the initiative. hey 91Loyale bumper setup sounds awesome, cant wait to see it, im patient, so take ur time with the pics, make sure they come out good, make these guys wait just that little bit longer
  4. ha cool, yeah driving home my right front wheel was clicking like mad, but only during acceleration!!!! i stopped to see what it was but couldnt figure it out, then when i got home i went to wash the car and the brake rotor steamed like mad! the caliper had seized to the rotor, for the entire ride home!!!! guess i got some work to do...cant wait to see those pics!!!!!!
  5. i might be intrested at $300 for a set of 14in offroad version
  6. u can always tighten or losen the torsion bar, that will increase/decrease the preload and raise/lower the ride hight. (or is that just on ea81's)
  7. ok lets just try this...who can go and when can you go, list all available/willing days. i'll take what i get and set a date that allows the majority to go, the more people the better. if your not sure of a day dont put it down, only days that you KNOW you can do this. it would be cool to do an overnight trip so we can get some night driving in, i want to test my lights. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65445 i'll give eveyone a couple days to figure it out, then i'll set that date. so get back to me asap. thanks guys!
  8. well the compressor is shot, i wired the clutch right to the batt and it engaged, but wouldnt turn, i even tried to turn it with a wrench but it wouldnt budge, so im going to get it discharged and if anyone wants that old compressor when i remove it (to see if they can fix it), its all yours.
  9. i live right outside Philadelphia, only 15 min, i have no prob driving anywhere to meet up with other soob owners, im very intrested in theses cars now and seeing others would be great. im planning on going along for the pine barrens run posted in the meet greet forum as well. awesome hatch, love the rims!
  10. cool i'll have to take the clutch off and try to rebuild it then. oh yeah heres the best part.....THE CAR WAS FREE!!!!! a friend gave it to me, he needed to create some room in his collection, he has way to many cars, mostly mercs. but yeah it only had 101,600 miles on it, and had never been driven hard, it belonged to his mother who drove it only a couple miles a day to and from a train station. only major damage is the dent in the drivers door; from something falling on it while it was in a garage. but i have put about $700 into it since i got it.
  11. the original coil was already dying, it wasnt firing all the time, and the AC compressor's clutch doesnt engage anymore. im still tinkering with it but if i cant fix it, its gone.
  12. alright i finally got pics. this is my very first subaru and the reason i joined this forum. its an '84 GL Wagon 4sd D/R. I got it about 6 weeks ago and it was bone stock. at first i did the work necessary to just get it running well (new tires, oil change, oil filter, fuel filters, and brakes), but once that was done i started to upgrade; accel superstock ing coil, accel 8mm plug wires, JVC headunit and speakers w/sub and amp, paint work on wheels and splash guards, did the raise on the stock suspension, it was sitting pretty low when i got it. fixed fog lights, added 6 55w spots, aux batt w/gauge, removed "stove pipe" from exhaust along with valve. removed carbon canister, plugged vac hoses for same system. next in line will be an ozified lift and new 14" rims for the 225/70r/14 Bridgestone duelers that i got from my friend new (4) for only $150. a fixed exhaust system, my muffler just rusted and broke off and lastly, remove AC system and finally plug the EGR system too.

    Dual Batteries?

heres the pics! first is the whole engine bay, second is just the batt and isolator, thirs id the batt gauge and 3 switches for the spot lights. the white switch nest to the gauge is the fog lights, the orange ones are the spots.
  14. 2 weeks from now sounds cool, gives me time to get my lift and new wheels/tires on

    Dual Batteries?

the jcwhitney system is really simple, it only took 2 hrs to install, which included going to pepboys and getting vac plugs for removing my carbon canister to see if the batt would fit there, it didnt, big waste of time! So i mounted it in the spare wheel well. its a great system and simpler then wiring up a solenoid to the ign. just 4 wires when u think about it (alt to isolator, isolator to main batt, isolator to aux batt, and ground on aux batt.) bolt the isolator and aux batt down tight, and ur all set! what took a while was wiring up the spots and batt gauge which i did the next day. that took 4hrs. drilling holes in bumper, roof rack, grounding roof rack, wiring lights to switches and aux batt, and wiring gauge to aux batt, and switchable 12v ingnition source for the gauges backlight. the gauge is contantly on, i figure it doesnt draw enough power to drain the batt so i might as well keep it wired all the time. the system works fine with the stock alt, but the stock charge meter on the dash jumps when i have my turn signals on, so im gonna upgrade. prob to this http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=QLT&mfrpartnumber=P7157&parttype=11&ptset=A&sourcepage=SEARCHRESULTS

    Dual Batteries?

Done and Done! plus a volt gauge and 3 sets of 55w spot lights, got them all wired and mounted yesterday, works great. im running them all off my second batt, which has the voltmeter so i know how much batt life i have when i have my lights on. i'll post pics as soon as i can.
  17. i had this problem before, but i just took off my batt wires and put them back on, it must have reset some fuse or switch cuz it started right up, before i couldnt even turn on my fog ligts which are wired straight to the batt leads.
