  1. Yeah, I think my round lights make the grille look way taller than hers. I've had Subarus dirtier than that, but I haven't had the heart to get this one in too much mud, it's too pretty. It's the first one I've had that I could wax (I've waxed it twice now!). Moms hatch isn't that shiny really.... rust free, but not shiny, the silver hides a lot of scratches..... the passenger side door and fender have been repainted and they're really dull and look like brushed stainless.... add the front end and it reminds me of a Delorean
  2. 2WD but sadly it's an auto. I've been trying to get her to sell it back to me so I can webber it and convert it to a 5 speed. It's an '88 btw, mines an '87
  3. Well, after keeping my car dirty for a week after our ice storm because we were supposed to to get a huge snow storm that never came, I finally decided to clean up the hatch while it was slightly warm (22 for a high Monday). I'm so ready for spring... Anyway, I took it over to moms and got a few good pics with her hatch, enjoy! Before: After!:
  4. "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads." That's all I have to say about that Dual ranger FTW! lol
  5. I had to look at it good too, looks like some fool with his shirt half up waving his hand in the air 0_o
  6. Is it an auto? every auto wagon I've had would struggle to get past 18mpg
  7. I think that's a rotator light bar (like the rent-a-cops have) a spare tire and something else.
  8. The fuel tank will be the least of his worries, plenty of those lying around up there
  9. Not bad for free.... I'd go for it
  10. Uh, being that it's free.....I wouldn't really worry about *looking out* for anything. Rust and getting it home would be my only deterrents, but free makes up for those most of the time.
  11. Core supports are different, you'll have to cut some. I had a full single square/cyclops setup for my last EA81 wagon, but after realizing I was going to have to cut the core support I got lazy and sold it.
  12. I'll call dibs on it depending on acessed value....
  13. Dead link there mate. +1, I'd like to see it in action
  14. How'd you get it to come down with that much force on the front sus.? I jumped my first one sevral times thruout it's life and it always nosed in hard with more than 5 feet of air; all it left me with was folded flat tow hooks and a sore neck.
  15. I am the second legal (last didn't have it long enough to register) owner of my hatch, still had the orginal CO. title; the payoff of the car was on the title and it was somewhere in the $13,000 range...... terrible for a car that didn't even come with carpet or a day night mirror. Subarus seem to hold their value great for about the first 5-10 years and then go into the tank; 19 years later the hatch cost me $200
  16. Ditto, this car actually came from Boulder, Co. new, then at some point it went to Ny. and then Va....... it's really not bad though, I parked beside a hatch the other day at the mall that was way worse.... at least this one has rocker panels still....
  17. I completely forgot to take pics after the ice storm last weekend, but I got a few from when it started and the week before. Aftermath... dirty hatch.
  18. Can't tell you how many times I've wanted to put a wagon door on my hatch just to see what it'd look like. Could add them, a post and then a small suicide door behind it, RX8 style, not that I'd ever want to do that..
  19. Sweet, I'm on a streak! Glad that's all it was for ya man, I used to have to deal with it pretty often. It only takes a second to rule out all of the simple stuff before you go throwing cash at the problem.
  20. I'm thinking english as a second language.....? That's what they remind me of anyhow
  21. Come on, the FM transmitter isn't that bad, I used mine all around, in the middle of nowhere and in D.C., never had a problem finding a decent moderately clear channel. No where as good a an aux in, but it worked well; and if you're "serious" about listening to music, you're not going to be listening to thru a 35W stock stereo, if you're crasily worried about the audio quality, mount the stereo in glove box, kind of a PITA to use, but hey. Don't be too sure that wouldn't get stolen, it's got too many buttons on it... wouldn't last long in a lot of places.
  22. Yeah, I'd either look for a factory one or a cheapie aftermarket (if you just need a little more wattage). Then, as long as you take the FM transmitter with you, you'll be good. I don't think anyone is going to steal an am/fm stocker, I wouldn't even go with a cassette... that may get stolen. Just stay outta the tenderloin and you'll be good. (speaking from experience)
  23. Cheapie AM/FM and a IPOD w/ FM transmiter would work well.... I would think.
