True that!! I'm 27, we're single income, have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. House is paid for, cars are paid for (2000 2.5RS and 2000 Outback Wagon) It's all about discipline AND smart shopping! @Durania You know you'll be back to the GC platform soon though mate! ;)

GD, GTFO already. You don't live in the Midwest. Have you tried to find such a vehicle out here at all? Seriously get your head out of your rump roast already! Your responses like this are one of the main reasons why I dropped out of this forum a year ago and I'm about to do the same thing for the same reason. I'm with Rob on this one. My parents always taught me that if I didn't have anything good to say then don't say anything.

I'm OCD... I've got receipts from every gas fill since I bought the car. All charted out in an Excel spreadsheet. Prior to the installation of the headers I was averaging 230 miles on 3/4 of a tank. After installing the headers I got a consistant 270+ miles on 3/4 of a tank. I haven't entered those receipts into my spreadsheet yet to find the exact MPG for those two tanks since the install but I suspect it'll be in the 27-28mpg range vs 25-26mpg before install. Tom's correct. Delta regrinds cams for the EJ's look them up online and get in touch with them. DELTA CAMS

Only issue I had with mine was on fitment. You'll notice more "rumble" to the exhaust due to the unequal length design of these headers. On paper they'll net you lower HP numbers than a set of similarly sized equal length headers. I managed to net an increase in my gas mileage after installing the headers and the sound is good so I'm happy!

Mine threw a P0420 in the first tank of gas after installing the headers. My MPG also went from a 25mpg average to a 27.8mpg with just the header change though. Cleared the CEL on Friday, installed my catback on Saturday and I haven't had any return of the P0420 (I'm getting an intermittent P0325 but that's unrelated to the headers) @Tom, on second thoughts, make it at week or 2 for that grin.

Tom, Yes, you've got dual port heads. My headers are Borla replicas off eBay. I paid $145 for them including shipping. They arrived within 2 days of the close of the auction and included new hardware for bolting to the cat pipe as well as new gaskets. (Seller was DNAMotoring) Take note as I mentioned in my build thread that there are some minor fitment issues but nothing to worry about too much! Here's the steps I took: 1. Shoot all the exhaust studs with PB blaster and let it soak in. You want to avoid unthreading the studs from the heads because it makes the installation a bit trickier. 2. Drop the entire exhaust from the headers to the end of the cat pipe (just unplug your O2 sensors, don't hassle with trying to remove them from the cat) 3. Unbolt the stock header from the cat pipe and bolt it to the new header. Test fit the new header. Mount the driver's side first then go to the passenger side. Expect to have to push the passenger side over a little to get it to line up with the studs. 4. If you have any issues with it all lining up, drop the system again, take a 7/16" drill bit and "hog out" the holes a little bit to allow more clearance. 5. Install. Torque everything down properly. Start the car. You have 10 minutes to wipe that grin off your face

DO it Tom!! I just put a set of Borla Replica (read "eBay special") UEL headers on my 2.5RS... The sound has to be heard to be believed! So much rumble... Really deep sound. I'm running a WRX 3" catback system after the stock cat pipe. Sounds like pure sex! Build thread on RS25.com with video clips on the last page. The dual port EJ25 headers should mate up just fine to your dual port EJ22 and also to your stock cat pipe. Just make extra certain that you DO have dual port heads. The fitment on my headers took a little caressing but it was certainly do-able. Watch for clearance on your oil filter and power steering lines.

FWIW, if you're going in there at any point to replace the HG's, don't use the stock replacement ones. Slap a set of 11044AA770 (Subaru P/N) gaskets on there, that's the replacement for the WRX motor and will put a very effective stop to any HG related leakages. Don't run more than 2 bottles of the coolant conditioner, it WILL clog your heater core if you do.

Two types of threads are distinguished: Parallel ('straight') threads, BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel Thread), which have a constant diameter; denoted by the letter G. A variant of this thread is BSPF (British Standard Pipe Fastening Thread), This thread is identical to the BSPP with the exception of its name. Taper threads, BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper Thread), whose diameter increases or decreases along the length of the thread; denoted by the letter R. These can be combined into two types of joints: Jointing threads: These are pipe threads where pressure-tightness is made through the mating of two threads together. They always use a taper male thread, but can have either parallel or taper female threads. (In Europe, taper female pipe threads are not commonly used.) Longscrew threads: These are parallel pipe threads used where a pressure-tight joint is achieved by the compression of a soft material (such as an o-ring seal or a washer) between the end face of the male thread and a socket or nipple face, with the tightening of a backnut.
