i liked the legacy with the d/r in it for snow! i never got stuck and i did some pretty deep snow wheeling.. as well as just goin on adventures they led to snowy road commuting.. hers some pics of places i have gone. Crysal Mt. Evans creek area Enumclaw by mud mountain Greenwater that was a 4" sjr lift kit with outback struts and 30" BFG km's (siped) with ea d/r trans (better gas mileage with a d/r imo ive had two to compare) it did awesome! i did get some DEEP snow wheelin action i just never got out to take pics..

subarus on here keep gettin bigger and bigger.. ill be tuned in

Nice! All this is based around my 1998 subaru legacy Brighton so a 95-98 ej25d is 100% plug and play.. i might look into that instead of a franken motor swap.. i take that back a 30hp gain can be obtained cheaper and easier if wiki is true then 22e is 135hp and 25d is 165hp

so ej22 heads from a 96+ are best to use regardless of the exhaust port design?..... ive been going through so many different fourms with so many different answers im gettin lost. what series has the ej25d. i googled it got what i thought was the answer and called the local jy's and they had no idea what i was talkin about.. a regular set of ej22 (sp sohc) heads and a ej25d sb make a "HC" franken motor... all the pulleys seem to line up from the pics i saw one thing i heard was that the intake is a so so fit. Another thing i read was a DOHC EJ25 will plug and play in a legacy ecu and all.. True or false?

if the setup im thinking it will be works with my transfer case then yes ill run the twin sticks but chop em off at the top and use linear actuators to push and pull the stubs that stick out.. i have some leverage and throw figuring to do. i have switches and relays all ordered up i am close to done with the "bcm" for the actuators i just need current draw specs/ratings so i can put the correct breakers inline so i dont burn the actuators up when im engaging... gettin there:rolleyes:

looking for a twin stick set up that will mount to this trans designing a "bcm" and picking out 2wd, 4wd switch and a hi lo switch i have the actuators picked out. will post schematics if anyone is interested.
