  1. thats what I was afraid of. I don't know anything about resetting timing belts...... and Andrew is prolly gonna get stuck in Denver tomorrow too.... so what would I have to do in order to reset the timing belt?
  2. So since I have this lack of experience working on EA82's, I need to replace my waterpump and I just want to know what needs to be removed before I start so I can have Andrew assist me (cause he's in Denver right now) in case I mess up. So I know I need to remove the fronts of the timing belt covers but now I'm lost and I would go out there and figure it out buts its like 20 degrees out there BRRRRR!!!!!
  3. w00t!!! she runs again!!!! I got the gas tank in her and she fired up but had the tick of death to her. Guess thats what happens when it sits for about a year and has 208k on the ticker. Guess I'll need to go get some gas so it'll run longer then a couple seconds...... Next is the waterpump which I got a brand new one with a lifetime warranty for 30 bucks!!!
  4. Ooooo I want those parts too so if you can get another set, lemme know!!! PM me:D
  5. reminds me of my Brat.... before... http://usmb.net/gallery/album267/AUT_3267 After... http://usmb.net/gallery/album225/100_0630 even has the removed "4wd" badge from the front:D
  6. my Brat was revvin part 8500 rpm before the valves started to float.....stupid valves. Made for some AWESOME burnouts though:drunk:
  7. So I just did a deal with someone on the board (not mentioning any names but you know who you are) for a set of Delta ground 260 street cams for my RX. I can't wait cause I know what these motors can do stock with the boost turned up and a part time 5-speed d/r in them. Since I'm going to be going with the FT4WD d/r tranny, it should be more fun! So first come the cams and them an intercooler, spider intake with XT6 throttle body on it, STi hoodscoop or a custom hood (in the process of mocking one up), custom hoodscoop for the intake and a few "other" goodies along the way as well. So here are a few questions for you EA82T gurus... When I get my cams, what will I need to do in order to install them? I know I'll need to replace the seals but what else is there? I heard something about the followers but I have a slight clue on what they are but where would I get new ones and for how much? I figure if I have a blown h/g on this motor, I'll install them the same time. Is there anything that I'll have to change to the fuel system? Anything else I need to know while I got it torn down? Thanks guys!
  8. I got my '89 RX with the FT4WD and LSD for 150 bucks from a j/y cause "Its just a Subaru" and I can probably get the whole 5-lug conversion for 50-100 bucks as well. But alas, mine is too an auto.....but not for long!!!
  9. Like this one?http://usmb.net/gallery/album237/7_second_brat Maybe you're not a big fan of the giant turbo sticking out of the hood either, lol:D Wanna talk about a STi killer.....sheesh!
  10. Working on putting a gas tank into the RX (the old one is out, the new one is ready to go in), replace the waterpump since mine is shot, put some gas in it and fire her up, tune her up, and go to work for holiday pay + overtime so I'm gonna make BANK!!!!
  11. the suspension won't bolt right into the car. You'll need to do lots of fabbing in order to get the 5-lug conversion done. As for the motor, there have been a few people who have swapped the Lagacy EJ22 motor into them but I'm not sure on the turbo motor.
  12. I got the driver side!!! I remembered!!! My passenger side was busted so I had red cellophane on it. Offer still stands!
  13. well I was driving the '86 GL-10 turbosedan one morning after dropping my ex off at work and I decided to pull off onto some grass on a side road so I could get some more sleep. Well about 2 hours later, I decided to go home and crash in bed. I got her fired up and started to leave this little grassy area, started going through the ditch next to the road and the BLAST! I'm stuck. Click in 4wd and the rear tires are sitting there spinning. Long story short, Andrew's turbowagon couldn't pull it out. Instead Jessica's full size Ford van with a v10 got me out. Had her buried up to the axles. You say pics? Well I got there here! Enjoy! http://usmb.net/gallery/Stuckruss
  14. ME WANT!!! I love the front end. Would make a nice edition to the RX I must say....
  15. if its the passenger side I got one you can have for a few bucks and you wouldn't have to worry about shipping either since I'm right up the road! I might even drive down there and bring it to you in my RX once I get it going which should be soon!!!!
  16. just cut the core support apart and fit a raditator in there and then weld a cage around it but make sure you can acess the radiator without having to pull the motor.... sounds hard but it can be done easily with a cutting torch and a welder:D
  17. wow it used to be perty back in the day. What happened to it? Why is it sitting with no motion? Confuses me why its like this.....
  18. small block? How about a 427ci pushin about 1000hp;) Lets just say that it would tow anything:D
  19. on the EA82T motor? Or on a NA motor?
  20. <-- is lost.................... gonna take this to PM land so not to hijack the thread:D
  21. ACK! Well you wouldn't know where I could get one? Or you could get one for me? I got some blingin yo...
  22. maybe get it off of the tranny and beat on it with a hammer? If you need to get it running so you can get it to where you're moving to, that might be the best way, even if you ruin the axle in the short run. You can replace it later once the move is done:)
  23. Yup and hopefully I can get some money by the beginning of the year I hope.... I'll need to know what I would need like the followers since I've never really done a lot of work on an EA82T before....
  24. lol I have a good idea I am planning on doing for tail lights. Hopefully I can get started on it tonight before work. Oh did you happen to keep a possible good 3-door passenger side tail light? Mine has a chunk missing out of it and I'm looking for one. Lemme know Brad:D
  25. move?? Where are you moving to? Wyoming right? Umm try and have Craig push down on the side that is up and see if you can get a nut started. Maybe pull the alxe out and see if it'll sit straight then. All you would have to do is unbolt the suspension from the ball joint after its been jacked up of course, wiggle the axle off of the tranny and get it to sit down straight. Then figure out what the hell is up with the axle, replace if necessary and VOILA!
