  1. mmmm looks niiiiice. I'm thinkin I might be getting a TWE setup for my RX when I get the TD04 turbo too. But I need to get some $$$ for it and it'll be after I get my 5-lug parts on it and get her running with the d/r FT4WD tranny which I just scored for 80 bucks along with the glass I need as well:D
  2. I had my '78 Brat doin 90 and with no suspension, I didn't feel any bumps:D But yeah, it was a little scary but I'll be able to do 130+ when I'm done with it!
  3. ok because I was planning on doing a major exhaust upgrade to my RX when I got it running and one of the things Iwas wondering was that since I've seen both. I think Skip has a DW on his turbowagon and I got pics of it on my computer!!! Mmmmm sexy, sexy exhaust;)
  4. lookin sharp! but I have a question..... I notice that it doesn't have a divorced wastegate pipe coming off of it like I've seen before. Whats the advatages/disadvatages of this?
  5. well I've looked at it for about 5 minutes and nothing seems to be loose, in fact it all seems to be where it originally was! I've dealt with the rear hatch latches on 82-92 Camaro's and I know when people slam them too hard, it tends to break the little plastic gear inside of them (stupid GM retarded engineers!) so then they won't latch right but unfortunatly, it seems like mine is still ok..... maybe I'll pull the thing out and see what is to this...
  6. well I took the back panel off and have looked it over and I even stuck a screwdriver into it and it closed and I pulled on the bar that goes to the lock on the back and it released the mechanism inside and didn't see anything broken or nothing so I just thought that it might be a little too low or something...
  7. ehh body changes obviously, motor I think is a higher output, and very few were ever made, kinda like a street version of an older rallycar which is the predicessor to the STi?
  8. Ok so my hatch won't latch (granted there's no glass in it...) Is there some adjustment so I can get it to latch? It goes down all the way but yet I just can't for the life of me get it to latch so it'll be closed...
  9. I'm planning on putting a TMIC in mine since its quick and easy. Well not EASY but easier....unless someone comes up with a good way for a FMIC, then I'll be interested;) But I want a big gnarly 2004-new STi hoodscoop:D
  10. well I did some research earlier and I found out that all EA82 tanks are the same. So I can get one for free from a parts wagon so I will be set to go. Thanks guys!
  11. *bump* I gotta know guys so I can start looking for what I need. PLEASE help!!!! I need to get this car running so I can drive it before the snow hits!!! I did find out that the 2wd and the 4wd EA82 tanks are the same but are there any differences between the carbed, SPFI, MPFI and the turbo fuel tanks????
  12. basically what Subaru_Styles is sayin is thats its a big pain in the arse. Do it if you want but a lot of people usually swap out the digidashes for the analog because they have so many problems:)
  13. I heard from a couple people that Rx's never came with AC but mine did. It has the stock AC EVERYTHING in it but what throws me off is that the AC pump is on the OUTSIDE of the alternator, not on the inside like it usually is on an EA82 car. Was this a dealer option for the RX's? I'm just really puzzled by it..... take a look for yourself... http://usmb.net/gallery/album288/100_0349
  14. Ok so the j/y punched a hole in the tank to drain out the gas awhile ago but now there's a hole, go figure. I was wondering what gas tanks will work. DO I need to get one out of a 3-door? Can I use one from lets say a 2wd SPFI wagon? Any clues guys since I am kinda strapped for cash (just spend almost 600 bucks at the post office yesterday) for the next couple weeks and since I have a connection on getting some parts, one of the cars is a SPFI 2wd wagon. Any ideas? Thanks guys!
  15. saweet!!! My RX showed up about an hour ago and so I've been busy with the camera. I got more pics here... http://usmb.net/gallery/album288 I did find that the gastank has a hole in it from someone draining the gas, probably the j/y so I need to find a new gas tank. Anyone know if a gas tank from a 4wd EA82 wagon would work like lets say an SPFI? Carbed? This is really going to piss me off. On a better note, it does have the 3.70 LSD in the back, all 4 axles look good, possible blown headgaskets, missing the fuel gauge sending unit I believe but not sure. I also noticed that this RX didn't come with the full bodykit either but thats going to change.......I'm soooo happy I got me an RX!!!
  16. nope I just welded it together like the EA71 control arms were. I didn't do anything except line it up by eye with it sitting on the ground and a wheel on it so I could get some measurements to put it as close to stock location as I could.
  17. first person to either make it here with a 5-speed conversion stuff or just to come get it once I've done the conversion can have it or for maybe a 12 pack....I dunno yet since I have to drive it with that tranny for a little while...
  18. Once I get the D/R FT4WD 5-speed, you better believe it'll need a new home, just not my home. I do have to agree with you that it is better then the 3AT slushbox:D
  19. Well I just got home from the junkyard and talking to the really nice guy down there and he said that the RX will be dropped off tomorrow morning a little after 10. He said the paperwork is fine on it and he did a vin inspection on it as well and came back clean. The only thing left is to go down there tomorrow and pay the last 50 bucks to him and get the title down to the courthouse so I can get it into my name. The only problem I face now is that I just paid two months of rent (October and November) and I don't have 50 bucks.....I hope Andrew lets me borrow a little bit until I get paid again in two weeks:eek: Then I'll get this beast running and driving, some new glass and eventually a tranny swap to get rid of that stupid 4EAT in there..... I'll be doin:burnout: in no time:D:D:D
  20. yeah it will because you won't be able to get one of the bolts in to mount the caliper:D
  21. A instructor of my electrical and electronics class in automotive at my former community college said and I quote "Never trust a gauge 100%. The reason for gauges is to give you an estimate on which you can base a problem on. It can either be a problem with the gauge or with other parts involved. Gauges tend to wear out by age. Even if they seem to be working fine, don't trust them fully!!!" So you get the point. It might be creating full boost but your gauge (stock or aftermarket) can be off or something can cause it to be off such as a bad connection on the hose, etc. etc. etc.
  22. well I'm not in Utah.....BUT I do have a couple soobs, one being 4wd. Do you think my minitrucked Brat will make it through Moab:D I'm planning on building a big lifted Soob but it won't be for a few years since I still have my Brat to work on and my wagon which will be done up like the Brat:) Then we can go and wheel Moab!!!!
  23. I have never completed the swap and never took pics of my progress since I was doing this on my '79 wagon. Sorry:(
  24. mwahahahaha I also found out that a few cars down the row, well more like 20, there's a complete XT6 also. So I'm going to see if the guy will take 100 bucks for everything to do a 5-lug conversion on it as well. Thats a far cry from Hondasuck's 250 for HIS 5-lug conversion.....w00t!!! Now I just need the guy from the yard to call me and tell me where I want it delivered:D
  25. well I was the one that started that thread but I do not know where it went either but I haven't looked. You will need the appropriate stuff off of the donor car just like doing a conversion on any EA81 or EA82.. 4wd with 4wd, 2wd with 2wd, you get the picture. Everything will bolt on however you will need to do a little bit of modifying to get it to be a bolt on, kinda like a TWE header:lol:. You will need to grind a spot down a little on the rear control arm in order to get one of the caliper bolts in. The other is grinding the backing plate down to make it fit but that is one of those "grind, see if it fits, grind some more" I hope this helps:D
