Need your advise

Stop going to the dealership!! Subaru's are great cars and a local Subaru specialty shop will be a much better place. Cheaper and they are way better at diagnosing issues. I do not have any recommendations since I am in CO, but I sure someone here will know one. -
Previa are nice, but death traps. We looked into one for our family van, and saw their one star crash rating. No thanks If you do not need/wand AWD you might also look at Honda Accord Wagons. They too are rare but great vtec motors, great mpg, and very reliable vehicles. We had a 93 EX wagon, great little car, but again very hard to find a 5spd.

Hello Justin, Subaru is just as reliable durable as Volvo. And if you are comparing a outback vs. 850/S70 AWD there is no comparison. Do someone here have the video of the Outback and the Volvo hill climb test? The AWD in Subaru is far superior to any Volvo system. And the 2.5 has some HQ issues, but even if it blows it is a $1200 fix and you are good for another 150k.

Check out this linkhttp://www.cars101.com/legacy.html 2.2 Horse power 95&96 130hp 97&98 137hp 2.2 with 5 spd is a great combo. No all Legacy models are AWD, 4wd was dropped in the US in 89?Loyales were AWD push button after 89 I think that AWD is only 1-2 MPG loss, I have heard the weight is actually the mpg loss not the AWD system. No problems with the system, can get torque bind if you do not keep the same sized tires. None. http://www.cars101.com/legacy.html Do you mean alloy? They have never had titianium.

What a dealership that did not tell the truth. What is next you will find out that this was not owned by a little old lady? Did you get the vehicle inspected by an independent shop before you bought it?Do you really think a shop that is selling a vehicle will give you a through inspection of a vehicle they are selling? This is one of life’s lessons. How do you know a car sales person/dealership is lying? Their lips are moving. I am sorry that you had to learn this way. When you buy a vehicle that is as is used from a dealer after you sing the paper work it could implode and there is little or nothing you can do about it.

A legacy with AWD will not get as good gas mileage as a front wheel drive only camry. But a lot depends on driving style. I have a 96 outback wagon 2.2 5 spd and get 28-30 highway 75mph on my daily 100 mile commute. No in 90-94 there was an ride height option system that raised and lowered the vehicle that was problematic, but other than that suspension issue are very rare in Subaru’s. I know the subaru is non-interference; I am not sure about the Camry. No major tranny issues with subaru 5spd at all, very stout units. I know the Subaru is non-interference; I am not sure about the Camry. No major tranny issues with Subaru 5spd at all, very stout units. Toyota are engineered very good also, easy to work on. Both are very nice compared to say Nissan were you have to take 4 parts off to get to the one you need. Not really any trouble areas in 2.2 subarus. No comparison here at all. The parts for Toyota are shocking expense new or used or junkyard. Example my 87 truck alternator $550 dealer, napa $400, junk yard, $200. Toyotaparts are more expensive they Mercedes parts. They are very hard to find cheap parts for and you run into issues if you use non-oem parts on them. 100k is nothing for a Subaru. You can get 300k out of a 2.2 car. But the same can be said for Toyota. I think about same ride height. Subaru stopped making front wheel drive cars in 95. So 96 up are all AWD cars. Not sure about your area but here it is very hard or impossible to find FWD Subaru’s. Toyotas are great cars but when they break, they are unbelievably expensive. Subaru’s are very good vehicles, and when the break the do not break the bank like a Toyota will. Plus how many Camry board like this do you see? No many because they are pretty boring cars, looks driving, etc.

96-99 2.5 have some HG issues, but still great cars and have lot of power. 2.2 is a more reliable motor HG wise. I own both. Outback sits higher, great for getting to biking hiking trails, etc. Lower greared, heated seats, etc but basically the same otherwise Move to Colorado. 7000 feet a 2.2 is not fast or stupid fast. 2.2 turbo is fast and best motor subaru has ever made!
