Is this for offroad use only, or on and off? You wont be happy on the freeway with anything over 27". Post a build thread with ideas and lots of pics...we like pics! +1 for http://www.sjrlift.com
  2. But...it's bright yellow and "high performance!" I only got it because it was recommended here on the board, but I trust ya GD. Will look for OEM soon.
  3. Thanks for all the responses. I can notice no effect whatsoever when the dash light comes on, so I'll leave it be for now. There are no good wrecking yards in this area, so I'll have to keep that wiring in mind for next visit. Might it be easier to just disconnect the dash light. If the ecu could be affecting performance in some way though, I'll pull it at some point. Btw, my coil is now an accel superstock.
  4. Guess it wont hurt just to try it...not like it's that hard to pull out.
  5. '86 GL Wagon 4x: My ECU/computer is for a feedback hitachi, if that makes any difference. Does anyone know if it changes timing, or anything else besides the carb? With the weber I don't notice any changes now when the dash light comes on...it's just annoying. RED LIGHT MEANS SOMETHING WRONG is just stuck in my brain. Will the car even start and run without it? Thanks, Eric
  6. Anytime, Scott. At least I've got some experience from the EJ swap we did on the monster.
  7. That's just cruel, Jeff. Funny...but cruel !!!
  8. Very nice! The tires fit like a glove for street use, but if you'll be off roading at all, prob get bad rubbage/ clearance issues.
  9. True, I tried using heat and Pb blaster, but didn't work. Try and use the style of easy out that has the little tabs you can hammer down to lock it in place. That way it won't come out with the bolt next time you remove it.
  10. I'd try and easy out them first...just be careful not to break it or you'll be trying to pick out hardened tool steel.
  11. That's a keeper, Scott! Maybe frame it for your shop? Here's a few more pics of some of my personal favorites:
  12. Mind if I post some more pics here tomorrow? I'm beat now, and I was only a passenger. Had a blast, though, and I didn't break a thing!
  13. Awesome, Jeff. How'd ya get rid of the rubbing?
  14. Last minute schedule change at my work...got this sat. off!!! If I can ride along, I can go with and take pics. 'Bout time!
  15. Rustoleum roadwarrior would be a good in-between. The herculiner is just a urethane base, but the r/o is a 2-part rubberized epoxy. My work sells it for around $130.
  16. ...or the first in the state!!!
  17. That makes sense. I like the looks of spare up on the roof, but looks aren't important. (Ask Scott or Jeff...they've seen me!) Then again, the look of a racoon tail on the firestick I think I can do without! Add GM alternator to the list.
  18. Not far from your place then. I'd like to see your soob collection sometime, too. B'ham really needs a good yard, lummi wrecking is the worst yard ever.
  19. I'm all for trying new eats, but seen too many in my trash can. Add racoon tail antenna flag to list. :-\
  20. I'll have to mapquest that...not sure where smokey point is, but beacon would be some serious diggin. Bill, we'll do that sometime. I haven't wheeled much, but love doing different terrains. Ever eat that racoon...tastes like chicken?
  21. NIIIICCCCCCCEEEEEEE! I was planning on getting my wheels from a local place called Beacon. They've got a mountain of wheels out back for something like $10/wheel. It'll just take a lot of sortin with a tape measure, but sure I'll end up with mazda's!
  22. Thanx, add 4w disk brakes to the list. And Bill...glad I never picked up that craptatchi of yours, but too bad we didn't meet. Maybe next time we head over to benton city.
  23. Blaine, Wa. Not too bad for pizza cutter wheels and all, huh? Next up is the lift with pizza cutters.
  24. What I've got: '86 GL Wagon 4x4. Original 1.8L with 190K on it. Dual range tranny. Mostly stock, except for the few changes I've already done. What I want: A daily driver that can handle "4x4 only" roads. EJ22 swap, once the EA82 gives up the goat Turbo type muffler 4" body lift Drilled 14" wheels with same offset 225/70R14 Liberators or 27/8.5R14 Kuhmo ventures Bumper mounted Hella 500's Rack mounted Hella 5" work lights, front and rear Custom safari basket, maybe bumpers New bucket seats, OB, XT, or anything What I've done: Not much! I've been working on making the soob reliable above all. All tune up stuff done Beck Arnley 180* thermostat 6 months ago Napa premium 190* since other failed Accel Superstock coil Jerry Demoss match ported intake with rebuit weber 32/36 Manual choke cus the auto don't fit Cobra CB Yakima rack and 3' firestick antenna Feel free to suggest anything else or different. Lots more to come soon...with plenty o' pics!
  25. Man, you must really tear it up offroad to need that!!!
