NW Washington Offroad Name Change?????????
Honestly, hill holder has always just sounded weird to me. Maybe just cause mine's never worked! What about something like Green Wheelers? Even lifted and such, we get better gas mileage than most ORV's and always stick to designated areas. Would also look good if we ever participated in saving 4X4 rights.

SJR EA82 new white wagon 6" build thread 2009
Now that's a rake! Mine wasn't as bad with the 13's and 4" lift, but at least you won't be driving it to work. I like that rig you used, instead of having to spot weld it up on the car!

Remind me never to spot for you again!

Thanks for the correction, Scott.

Lifted Subaru Camber Question
If not part of the AA lift, you could lower the diff. http://www.sjrlift.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=3

Front Camber Question
You have a suspension lift, so everything is lifted 2 inches. That's why the extreme angle of the axle, and bad camber. Cross member blocks simply lower the engine and transmission by whatever size that you use, therefore correcting camber. Maybe you can fab up some blocks, using the same 2" tubing as on your struts, or 1" to stay 1" over stock for better clearance. That said, it should be well designed and strong to hold that kind of weight. Are your strut adjusters all the way down?

HA!...here too, but I don't plan on any snorkeling.

Nice setup! I think you have a few things not previously mentioned, like a fire extinguisher? I like the idea of removing the rear seat, too. Since I'll also be camping much of the time, the extra room would be great as well as the weight offset. Thanks a lot for your detailed list, Team!

No dog to bring, unfortunately. Just make sure that you have a CHL for whatever state you're in, unless your firearm is in plain view. I got pulled over in Gresham, OR. one time with a shotgun ON THE DASH, and got no guff from the PO. I think having the chamber empty while wheelin is a no-brainer also!

Im LIT UP!
Nice! Lights I haven't bothered with yet, but 55's are what I'll use for floods. It looks like you ran the wiring down the gutter, what's the entry point?

Maybe some chains would fit those tractor tires? It's hard to believe that any AT would do better in deep snow.

Yeah, the way I eat, I'll likely have a whole cooler of food with me!

Off road gear
Ohhhhh yeah! I'll be well prepared from this thread. I've got a double belt setup on my soob, for lack of an ac compressor, but got spare belts to bring anyway.

Black RTV is a good idea. My understanding is that RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) is almost immediately heat and water resistant. Sleeping bag and torch I'll bring on remote trips alone, but I think I'll be with a crew most of the time. Jumper cables I've got built into my emergency thing, shown by my previous link. After I test it out a few times, I think it could be an invaluable off road tool.

Now that's being prepared! Doubt I'll assemble even half of that for my first outing next month, but having all these lists to go through is great. Heck, we even forgot a basic first aid kit for several posts. Here's another addition that I haven't seen mentioned yet: Tommy tape. Duct tape may work okay on burst hoses, but It'll still leak slowly. Tommy is self-fusing silicone tape, and will semi-permanently fix a leaking hose, brake line, etc. Duct tape may be a better band-aid, though!

Ok, I'd consider the super glue as relevant to this thread, since it could be used both as first aid and on the soob. I'm not personally gonna spend the bucks that med grade glue would cost, but my personal choice is 2P10: triple distilled CA glue right here in bellingham. I have something like this, that I never keep charged up for emergencies, but with a tire off the ground, I think it could manage to inflate all the tires. It's a cheap POS, but a buddy of mine just loves his: http://cgi.ebay.com/5-in-1-Emergency-Jump-Starter-Portable-Air-Compressor_W0QQitemZ120397058896QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item120397058896&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50
