Krylon rims, opinions welcomed

R&B, different is good. -
What the hell!?! It's not like we couldn't have used that, here in the states! Wanna ship me a tranny?
-
Definitely thinkin outside the box, there! It'll be cool to see it even move, when your done.

Is this the '90 Loyale in your profile? If I've seen pics before, I can't think of it now...and your avatar is tiny. That sounds like a lot of work you did there, in a short time. I just need a shop, proper tools, money, time, help, and motivation!

You're right, Jeff...the name should be pinned down, once and for all. Maybe take a vote on only existing names on that thread?

I don't have experience with the legacy, but I couldn't be happier with my GL/Loyale. The tranny is prob the biggest issue. The d/r is far superior off road, but if you're able to put one in a lego, that would rock! Likewise, a lack of power is prob the biggest issue with the loyale, but the EJ swaps are pretty common. After using my EA82 as a daily driver for some time now, I'm not gonna put in an EJ. We have 70mph zones in this area, and I'm still able to pass (most) semi's. Plus off road the power is even less important, with low range. If you're into real steep hill climbs, or tires bigger than 27's...EJ it!

Yeah, the touring w. is real nice, but I like the color of the new one better. Sweet find, there! -
Love that area! You can drive around for hours and not see a soul.

I approve of your new wheeler, Jeff. You may begin off-roading it now! That's pretty straight and clean too...I keep waiting for some jealous rust-belter to make some off-color comment. -
Well, I've taken some time off modding the soob, but am ready to do a bit more. I'm ditching the 1/2 rack, until I get another made up, in favor of some lights. I can't mount the spotlights with it on, since I'll be using the yak crossbar. There are some Hella Optilux 100W spots, already tested and dang bright...even with the engine off! Not a bad deal, either. $30 from an ebayer, including shipping, harness, switch, and relay. I'm not going to spend much of anything on mounts, or a light bar. Just too simple to warrant it. The idea I had is to use two "U" bolts, a few inches away from each other on the crossbar, and a "L" bracket bolted underneath. This should be really solid, and I may not even have to drill out the corner, because of the nice clamps on the lights! Will post more pics of the install, hopefully on Sunday. Think I'll be needing a maxima alt soon too. BTW, that nickel plating isn't going to be around long.

That's great, then you could always throw on the street tires for crusin'. -
BBQ on location, my place is too small. Plenty o' trees for shade and picnicking too! I'll prob bring my golf discs to practice driving of another kind.

Just the tire swap, or any other mods planned? -
Love the gas door! Needs a biohazard sticker on it

Kool. It's a bit of a drive for you, and really nothing compared to walker valley... so thought I'd bribe everyone with food! Nah...It'll be a blast, in a different kinda way. Maybe some higher speed rallying or racing in the open areas around the power towers.

Sunday, July 26th at the Custer, WA. wheelin spot: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=48.902136,-122.621241&spn=0.029282,0.077162&z=14 Exit #266 from bellingham L-Grandview rd. R-Portal way R-Faris rd. L-Under the power line towers...you'll see the trails. This will be a family-friendly event. I'll provide BBQ hot dogs and drinking water, at the least. There are plenty of decent trails for off-roading, rallying, or just bring your subaru to show off. Access is easy, as long as your not lowered. If you don't want to wheel, bring a Frisbee or something! I'm thinking 10:00 or so, to start wheelin, and after noon for the BBQ. This will be a small "event", so don't expect anything grandiose...I'll be lucky if anyone shows up at all. RSVP's here would be appreciated. See you there!
