Who new that the 97 through 99 Legacys were so popular. I search autotrader daily and find one that is actually a 5 spd about every two weeks. But everytime I attempt to go buy one its sold before I get there. I drove 40 miles once only to hear that I was 10 minutes too late. So if theyre not in PA, is there anywhere nearby that has an excess of these cars?

So I parked half way in the snow, with my left tires in about 5 inches. When I went to leave, My left tires were the only ones spinning. So why didnt the power transfer to the right tires which were on dry road? Odd, I ve never had a problem before and I had to rock it to get out. Maybe she was just mad at me for driving her 50 miles to buy a new Legacy, which was sold 10 minutes before I got to the dealer I might add.

Well, the Impreza is faster than the Legacy but I still stick by my Legacy in that it doesnt take 10 seconds to go from 0 to 60. And actually most cars on the road arent quicker. I dont know where you get your information from but I seriously consider a new source. Oh and the 2005 Legacy GT goes from 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds. Its on the Subaru website.

Oh Im looking at the Subaru specs sheet right here and I think they would know best being that they made the engine. And now youre saying 10 seconds? So obviously youre looking all over the place and no one has one agreeable time. And believe me I KNOW that mine doesnt take 10 seconds to go from 0 to 60, unless its not warmed up. Thats absurd. Its lighter and more aerodyanmic than the wagon is. I suggest you try one yourself pal.

I have a 96 2.5L(which was new that year and only available in Auto). 9 years old, runs awesomely. Only major repair: left cam seal replacement last month. ~ $400 Only minor repairs: Crank case sensor and 1 CEL sensor ~ $150 If I had the money Id get a newer Legacy but since mine is running great, I really have no need. And Im not sure if Im ready to part with it. For the record, my Legacy kicks rump roast in the snow. I really impressed my friends and proved how great Subarus are.

OK, my intention was not compare the actual cars themselves but what was going on underneath the hood. I understand why Ford would have a base model with lesser power but 210 HP is still pretty weak for such a large engine. And the fact that the WRX STi with a 2.5L has as much power as a 4.6L V8 is something that Subaru should pride themselves on. And it does get better gas mileage but obviously is less affordable to buy. And I like the sound my 4 bangor emits thank you very much.

My intention for posting this thread was to compare their engines and really just point out how crappy the new Mustang engine is. So the new Boxer turbo engine, 2.5L, 4 cylinders = 255HP. The new Mustang engine, 4.0L, V6 = 210 HP. Mustang's is bigger by alot and produces far less. And even if you looked at the 4.6L mustang, that gets 300 HP. Theres still the WRX STi which is the 2.5L and gets 300 HP. But obviously the STi cost alot more.

After finding out the specs of the new Ford Mustang, I had to laugh. What a piece of crap. A redesigned 4.0L V6 that only gets 210 HP. Come on, my 9 year Legacy gets 165Hp and thats with a significantly smaller engine. And the fact that the new Legacy Turbo gets 255Hp just made me wonder what the hype about the Mustang is and why people waste their money on that kinda car rather than a decent one.

How deep?

Ok. Next concern. How come whenever I go through deep snow my ABS light comes on? I like it best when my Anti lock brakes work. -

Heres what happened. We have about 6 inches here. My Legacy did great except for when I veered off the road a little bit. Had to do some rockin but she got out ok. Need new tires so theres another factor. As for the nut behind the wheel, well Im young and inexpirienced but I think I did ok despite the fact that my wipers were frozen and i couldnt get the windshield to defrost. -
Oil Leak
Slegacy96 replied to Slegacy96's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Where it is exactly leaking from, I dont know. Its dripping at three different locations all on the driver's side. So I decided to take a look and found that my undercarriage was covered in oil. Everything from the Axle to wheel. And I calculated that its losing 1/4 of a quart of oil each day. I only have 70,000 miles and I plan to keep the car for another 5 years, So letting it go isnt really and option Id say. My dad's Aurora had oil leak and was quoted a $2000 repair. Being that the Legacy has a smaller engine, Id assume it wouldnt cost that much. ......And since I dont have enough problems, bolt fell off a truck passing me and cracked my windshield. Maybe 2005 will bring me better luck
