Iowa MudCoast Road Rally
356 miles. Will have to ask the old ball and chain and see if she is willing to let me go LOL.. Currently in a lay off from GM, and needing to buy a new car cause the lease is up on the Tribeca soon. So she might not go for it... DAMNIT!

85 BRAT ea81 new stuff new clutch
Hes right about the Board Time being off.... Sounds like a intereting build. I hope you dont run into engine issues with that blocked off EGR. On my SPFI Pontiac, it can lead to a few problems, that are fixable. Welcome back to the board (didnt know you befor I dont think)..

GL gets a seat upgrade
Did you have to modify the seat tracks any? or the seats themselves? Looks to be a nice swap, and one I might have to consider if I get this GL..

Towing a Subaru
I am towing it cause I have to go 950 miles to pick the thing up. Its much cheaper for me to get a tow dolly, and drive out to get it, versus me flying out, and driving a Unknown car 950 miles back. Althou I am sure it can drive back fine, I rather be safe than sorry.. Not to mention the digi dash doesnt work, and I would have no idea how fast I am going, or how much gas I have. It would just be safer... Oh and another thing.... I have 2 months to put 5000 miles on my Tribeca befor it goes back in on lease. I want to get my money out of it..

Towing a Subaru
Now I am getting confused.. 2 say yea, 2 say nay.. This Automatic does have push button 4wd. So its not a part timer, full time or not. I already checked, and my tribeca can tow it no problem. Its just a matter of do I have to remove the drive shaft, or just load it up and go.. The Uhaul website states taht you MIGHT have to remove the driveshaft, but it doesnt say it definitivly.

Towing a Subaru

Towing a Subaru
I am looking at this Subaru GL 4wd, automatic, turbo.. Now the question is, can subaru's be flat towed, where all 4 wheels are on the ground, without causing damage to the car, or drivetrain or??? Thanks in advance if you can answer this..

4EAT Trouble
I would strongly suggest the ebay link for a new tranny. 100 bucks for a brand new tranny? Not used, not a junkyard. You aint gonna beat that ANYWHERE! (althou the ebay link sounds fishey to me, looking at the pics, and reading the auction, it comes with a 90 day warenty)

what do you think is wrong here?
Pontiac6KSTEAWD replied to uniberp's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt might work for awhile longer, as long as you keep it in FWD.. Otherwise, yea its gonna need work..

1984 subaru brat, is this a good deal?
I suggest creating a account with photobucket. It seems to be the simplest, with the fewest adds/popups.

Not a happy camper...new motor blues
No it isnt, I wash off all the road dirt, silt, grime, dust. A clean engine is alot easier to pinpoint a leak.. And as I said, I am done argueing with you. You have your mindset, and I have mine. I am not going to change your, and you certainly are not going to talk me into lowering my standards. FIN

Anyways, I'm done arguing with you. This thread is about his engine, and what he should do about it. My opinion remains, fight em tooth and nail. You paid for a essentially new engine, it should be leak free, and since it is rebuilt, it should have a warranty, and they should honor that warranty, and fix it. Simple as that, dont take a back seat to, "oh its natural to leak" cause it isnt, and only a fool would accept it as such.

Thanks for taking my words completely out of context, apparently you couldn't tell when I said "you just spent" that its a scenario. And yes my engines are almost dirt and grease free. I power wash the engine bay yearly. Helps keep the engines cooler, easier to work on, and I do all my own work, except for my Tribeca, cause its under warranty. Thanks for assuming I am made of money. I am not. I can hardly wait for this tribeca to go back to the Dealer. Its breaking me. And you just defined my point entirely. You say its illegal to park a leaky car on the street, so how do you drive to work, driving your leaky car? Park your car at work, since it is illegal? My cars don't pollute, cause they don't leak. Tough titty that you cant have a leak free car isnt is. Mine sure are leak free.

Cordless saw for P-A-P runs
I bought a craftsman full set, drill sawzall, flashlight, Circular saw, jig saw, and a few other thigns. Its a 19.2 volt, with a spare battery, and a charger. Cost about 190 bucks. Lasts a long time with a full charge, came with a case, and a few other things. Got it brand new, just after X-Mas, from a pawn shop. Great place to buy tools.

Not my fault your standards are low, or that you cant get your oil leaks stopped.. My 06 Subaru has no leaks, none, not at all.. My 01 Pontiac Aztek has no leaks, none at all. My 90 Pontiac Grand Prix has no leaks, none at all My 89 Pontiac 6000 has no leaks, none at all. My 94 Subaru Legacy just started leaking tranny fluid, it is being fixed as I type, other than that, no leaks. What has it cost me to keep these cars from leaking oil, About 100 bucks so far, and thats for all of them. I did have 2 leaks on the Grand Prix, it cost me about 75 bucks to fix, and the 6000 had 1 oil leak, and it cost about 25 bucks to fix. And its leak was pumping the oil out as fast as I could put it in. Altho I havent gotten the bill yet for the Legacy, thats it. So if I understand you correctly, you just spent some 5000 bucks on laying down a new concrete driveway. And you would allow some huge oil spot to be on it? Oil thru its detergents can actually eat that nice new concrete up. No thanks. that car would be parked on the street until the leak was fixed. And your wrong, it is covered under the new car warenty. A oil leak is not a wear and tear item.

I would bet you couldn't find a oil leak on a new Subaru, If my 06 had a leak of any kind, it would be going to the dealer to get fixed post haste. No if ands or buts about it. And it wouldnt cost me a dime to get it fixed either.

Not a happy camper...new motor blues
I disagree. When you buy a rebuilt engine, it is, for all intensive purposes, supposed to be better than the original OE spec. To me, any oil leak, or consumption would be completely unacceptable. Its why he paid for a, what amounts to, a new engine. Now his next issue is getting someone to answer the phone at this company..

Holden Commodore (Aussie Pontiac G8)
I would so love to have a UTE. But buying one from over there, and having it shipped over isnt practical for me. Right hand drive, shifting the six speed with my left arm. Everything is on the wrong bloody side!

GM Alternator Case Sizes
Just curious, has anyone tried the 1 wire GM internal alternator? It seems like it would be an easier swap without having to worry about all the rewiring or anything, and its about the same size..

Are all sensors created equal?
For magnetic type sensors, anything really.. After that, I stay away from anything Bosch, except for plug wires. They simply were not designed for american/japanese cars in mind.
