  1. Question I was under my car a few min ago and I was looking at the shifter linkage.. the part that goes to the shift is the one that connects to the round part with the two blue bushings right? How is it held in? Check the amount of play I get.. cheap sub $90 cam too cheap to upgrade right now 1:16 shows how crazy it is lol being in first gear is still easy to mistake as being in neutral. nevermind found it! ordered a 1/8" and 5/16" center punch both 8" long looks like my others walked off
  2. Yeah I did the oil pump water pump and cams and I have enough left for a good while
  3. Remember about a year ago I had a hard time finding that stuff? In the end I found it at Napa but Like those 4 weeks before none of the auto stores like Autozone and Advance had it.. Not soon after I pull my motor Advance got it in.. I still have a bunch of anaerobic left.. Was I the only one who thought it was going to come out real easy out of the tube? haha
  4. I just have the normal Permatex anerobic I used it on the oil and water pump and rear separator plate
  5. Oh yeah I forgot about that.. maybe just to be sure I will swing by the dealership to get the new roll pins, I might hit the linkage today with some kroil to get a head start.
  6. I never heard of anearobic being used on a transmission case.. if I'm right it would never seal because it's not 100% sealed off with the two halfs?
  7. I "Should" be getting the transmission this Friday 2 hours sounds about right for a swap right? lol my family members have been talking.. blah blah should of got a newer car.. what difference does it make? I already did the hardest part (pulled engine for HG) the transmission is like so much easier to deal with as far as going in and out. *sigh they will never understand.. Mind you one of my family member's owns a 95 ford tarus who has 95K miles on it and has spent about $10K in repairs so far including a replacement transmission!
  8. lol where did you get that R/C brat from?
  9. nope mine was the twisted up metal stuff like in your picture.. I did not bother taking a picture of it before I threw it out
  10. I had that same sheet metal stuff on mine.. matter of fact when i drained the tranny last year during the summer I saw bits of those as well. I too can't figure out where it's from because it feels pretty thick, thanks for the confirm on the starter hole hah I just need to lift it from the trunk and just get it on the ground. hopefully with the replacement trans in I wont be doing 3500 rpms at 60 mph
  11. I know this is a old thread but the best way I found for removing plugs on the DOHC is to pull them from under the car then from above.
  12. I finally have the shifter linkage in hand after my tranny took a dump.. quick question is it really needed to replace the roll pins? because I did not get those when i went to pick up my order. The shifter rattle and sloppy feeling was bugging me. Going to get the new pins
  13. I got subarupartsforyou.com AKA (Dan perkins Subaru) to make a link for this shifter part # 35047AC010 it's under ZZ special order, shows as a impreza part number and that it's not in stock but to my surprise they just sent me a email that it's ready to be picked up so I'm going to head out to go get it.
  14. to take off the whole linkage the pins I'm not too concerned about it's about getting the linkage off
  15. Question is it room enough to use a air hammer on the linkage? my car has a spring return so mine should be the part number 35047AC030.
  16. Sounds good, So let me ask you a 6 ton jack stand with a 24" max lift should be more then enough to get the transmission out while on the transmission jack right?
  17. The scanner is new enough I guess that's why it was throwing the code?
  18. My friend just drove by to check on how I was doing and also because he had a code the code reading was saying the code and circuit malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1 if I remember right.. I know I went into live data and I only saw the rear o2 sensor. the car has about 90K on it bad sensor or really a circuit issue?
  19. ah finally found the thread.. never knew we could search by now many reply's per thread made it that much quicker to find So but say on a used transmission with like 86K I should be just good replacing the front seal, no? Do you know if the hole where the stater motor goes is enough to support the weight of the transmission to get it out of a car's trunk? I can't find what part number 35047AC030 goes under at subarupartsforyou.com I wished you can search by part number, I'm going to ask.
  20. I was thinking that too but the main bearing is at the rear of the case right? That's a long way for travel.. And for the seals if i can remember it has a total of 4? Rear driveshaft 2 drive axles input shaft
