  1. i woulda but the wheel was locked up and with just an open rear diff, it wasnt going anywhere. so i payed a flatbed to get it to my driveway.. the timing is a little off.. or it needs a serious tune up lol gutless. and revs up slowly ill get a vid of it tomorrow too dark now.
  2. i just added a new subaru to the family 91 spfi 4x4 pushbutton wagon. how ever the previous owner drove it for a long time with the axle nut only half screwed on. meth heads..... anywho. yeah nice wagon for $300... and i got parts everywhere...muahahahahaha.. i had to gloat.. should be a perfect daily driver or quick profit...might make a habbit out of this.. if i did would anyone be interested in some parts?.. we got alot of them here its the shipping from AK that will be pricey.. will get pics soon. prolly a vid tho
  3. this might be of interest to you..http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/cell-phone/e915/ ipad to obd ll connector idk how good it works but miight be interesting

  6. thanks for reminding me.. i knew i was forgetting something. but yes i did put new wipers front and back..
  7. well this is goin to be a long list... 87 gl-10 turbo 5spd dual range ft/4wd wagon very very clean.(for alaska anyways!) 241k orig miles my camera is broken atm.srry 1.rear diff swap/new rear c/vs 2.new exhaust 3.new rear wheel bearings(fix them when you have the chance! doing them later sucks.i had a parts car so it wasnt that bad) 4.like 20-30 little interior peices that needed work(new ignition, door locks.door panels parts etc.) 5.new white wall studs 6. both front c/vs 7.rear transmission output seal 8.new brakes all the way around 9.full tune up 10.full stereo with 1000watt amp alpine type r 10 inch sub and type s speakers in the doors 11.lots of other stuff little stuff. lights, ALL OF THEM! lol, thermostat, fuses, side view mirror etc.. And all of this while driving the car every day since i got it. (I've put almost 4k miles on it!) which was like october 20 something id have to look at the title. Its a work in progress but all the main parts and body are sound anyways thats what I've done to my soobie recently!
  8. i figured the rear 3.70 being a lower ratio with bigger tires would equal out... and yeah i dont do math either. and yes my wagon was a 3.70 till the p/o put a d/r ft4wd tranny in so i put the matching 3.90 rear diff in its a beast, i call it the alaskan survival vehichle...and if my thinkin is wrong could you use a 3.70 tranny and a 3.90 rear then put a lil larger tires on to see what happens? this was all just a thought. and im not expeirinced enough to swap rear diff internals..
  9. i bought my 87gl-10 ea82t for $500. i had and still have drivetrain work to do but the motor is perfect. it has 241k miles. its a beast. pullin explorers out of ditches and drifting everywhere. its worth the blood sweat and money.(no tears with these. they never die!) but where i am there are 5 soobs to every 18 yr old lol.. and i believe you can take the turbo parts and put them on a n/a block. with the turbo cams... i could be wrong tho.
  10. if my 87 gl-10 5spd d/r has a 3.90 ratio and i put a 3.70 ratio LSD rear diff in could i put larger tires on the rear to equal it out?yes my gl-10t has the 3.90 d/r. and now a 3.90 rear diff) i looked at my old 3.70 rear diff and saw the LSD so this sparked a thought. would this be possible? ive always thought a subaru wagon would look good with bigger rear tires.
  11. thanks i will look into that
  12. ok so i got one of them done.
  13. ok took forever but i got it posted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1NIzY1LtZE
  14. so i shot some video of the car im in the process of editing and posting right now. you guys will get to see my babyi got a feeling you guys just might start drooling..
  15. i wish i had a garage.. this is side of the road mechanics. and yeah i gotta fun day ahead of me
  16. i did not see those last 2 posts thanks for that. i went out and messed with it for a while but it dropped below freezing and was pretty dark so i called it quits good news i dont have a bad wheel bearing a far as i can tell. bad news the guy i got the car from rounded a few very important nuts and bolts so ive got a struggle ahead of me tomorrow. oh and im pretty sure im going to have to drill out the roll pins. i think they're tweaked from being the only things that were spinning my tires(before i knew they we're the wrong ones.) atleast it wont be cold and dark lol
  17. on a competely unrelated note.. anyone have any experience with a welded rear diff on a daily driver?
  18. i actually watched the art of subaru maintenance series. but it was like 3 am so i dont recall all the info. but i picked up a set of turbo 3at c/vs today now i just gotta put them in anything i need to know that isnt in the hayne/chiltons manuals? i have both..
  19. yes yes deffinatly! that would be alot of fun this winter i got studs for it so im not too worried about gettin stuck. also does anyone have a write up for the d/r swap? i wanna go through and double check everything this guy did, the clutch doesnt quite feel right.. it might just be a worn cable tho. (239k miles) but more than likely he used the wrong clutch disc or pressure plate or both am i right in assumeing the clutch is different between the turbo and d/r
  20. thanks much and miles ive watched all your vids. keep it up!
  21. so the guy i got my car from swapped a d/r into it. it had a push 4wd with 3.7 gears because its turbo..the d/r is 3.9 so i swaped the rear diff all went well.. so earlyer today while pulling a justy out of the hole it had been sitting in i noticed what sounds like bad c/v joints in the front. when i got home i checked the c/vs the outer boots and joints are good. so i moved up to the inner boots then i discovered he used the 25 spline c/vs on a 23 spline transmission. and this whole time the only thing keeping my front wheels spinning has been the roll pins.. i saw a post a while ago that said the turbo c/vs are shorter than the non turbo c/vs is this true? or if i buy new c/vs for a non turbo would they just swap right in? and could i remove the front c/vs and make it temporary rwd? i need help. lol
  22. i havent taken my 87 gl-10 on the highway yet but as soon as i do ill post on here, also im here in ak too would you happen to need any parts? i got a 87 wagon with alot of good parts.
  23. i need more info. i really wanna take this course and i live here in ak
  24. that would have been helpful about 6 hrs ago lol. its all in and working. dont think i did any damage. im going to get the wheel bearings replaced soon anyways.
