1991 Loyale Wagon - let the build begin.
Have you fixed the brake lights yet? It feels like it has more spunk than my 92 Loyale did... and feels comparable to NED with his Weber, so I think they have added a bit of power. No EA82 is a racecar but they are good cars

Hey, guess what? I got a legacy!!!
Looks amazing. Try to just flush the tranny a few times and see if you can get it to last awhile

Diagnosis? My engine is a paradox in the space time continuum.
+1 lol

So now I have a Toyota (my 2nd one too!)
Hey hey now, dont go all yota on us... NED is stock and doing a pretty good job in the mud for being stock

Record low mpg?
I would get a whole new motor to be honest.... Sounds like that one is... well crap. Get one with all bolts, remove them carefully if it needs anything done (gaskets/seals/clutch etc) Also, replace hoses and stuff... somethings not right.. Im not sure what, one of the specialists can chime in, but that motor sounds like its one of the bad examples of an EA82

Muddin hole?
Sounds good... if you get a time/date set-up, lemme know, I know a lifted jeep that lives there that will go play, and I may join as well (depends on funds for gas ) but its a ton of fun for mild offroading. couple nice mud spots and lots of puddles... few hills. The one my car is on looks small but it really wasnt... tried to climb it in FWD to see if I could... nope haha.

lift for 14" wheels?
I ran 195/60/15s on my car with no lift and didnt rub. I even went to my mud hole and didnt get any rubbing. I did rub when I drove up on a vehicle ramp on a side-walk on one side and the asphalt on the other... flex test failed.

1500 miles in a GL
I still beg to differ on that too... Im rebuilding an EA82 for NED because its an SPFI block vs my carb block, and its got better heads than my heads etc... If I rebuild it, and it lasts for 150k miles, I can resell it for a hundred or so and I will have gotten 150k out of it... chances are it will only get 50-75k miles on it because I plan to swap in an EJ22T later.

1500 miles in a GL
My brother is 6'4" and loves road tripping in my GL. He loves it more than his Volvo S80, his Ford Ranger... Not more than the Porsches that come in and out of his house, but my $800 car shouldnt compare to an $80,000 car. Im not thrashing the EJ22, Im not even saying the EA82 is better, but its not a motor that deserves all the trash-talk it gets.

1500 miles in a GL
I love my 86 GL. Its so simple. It runs great and has put up with about 4K miles of hard driving on a bad driver side headgasket... but I keep the oil up and watch the temperature, still no issues. Now recently acquired is a 1990 Legacy L (Yes I know, I learned at an early age that FWD sucks, but hey, its cheap and its my sisters) and I admit, that has some power but I wont take it over NED... No way in... a burning place:rolleyes: . I can say though... that taking a ride in GDs SS... Ill take an EJ22T over an EA82... God that thing is fast as... a burning place:rolleyes:. I shall mix the two someday... NED with an EJ22T and AWD... hehe but my GL will always be my GL and I wont get rid of it... even when I expand my Subaru garage to a FXT, LGT, SS, STI etc.

trouble with wheels!
I would go with careful measurements, not just lining up... some may have done it and been successful, but this is the structure of the 4 wheels your vehicle rides on... where if it isnt done correctly and malfunctions... you and your vehicle may be going to the bone yard.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
My idea for my EA82 is gonna be 2-1/4 from the Y-Pipe back to a 2.5" glasspack where the resonator should be, then a flowmaster/magnaflow muffler off the end... I am incredibly loud with just a glasspack (have a few vids) so I need to quiet things down, and Im 99% sure this will give a nice deep sound without the worry of blowing Oregons 93dba law.

After Stuart mounted 185/70/14s on my wheels for me, I put them on the Legacy Before I had 2 - 185/70/14s on the front, a 195/70/14 on the left rear and a 205/70/14 on the right side... FWD Legacy. But rubbed like a beezy around turns.

EA to EJ Questions? P.S. Yes I've Read the PDF.
^ what he said. I was just about to say that then I saw he had posted. Hes the master of EA-EJ... what I know, I know from reading his posts, hanging out in his shop, and more/less watching him do some of the stuff (havent watched a full EA-EJ swap)

Front wheel bearing pictures.
I do have like 3 pics... its really simple... But the pics I have are of each side of the knuckle and of the bearings, not the actual process... :/ Its on my facebook, so Id have to upload them, but I can if you wanna shoot me a PM or something.

EA to EJ Questions? P.S. Yes I've Read the PDF.
For 2. Yes, most everyone who sends the cams in to be reground whether EA or EJ cams, they go to Delta. As for 1. Might as well replace the cam seals, rear main, front main and valve cover gaskets. As for 3. Yes as well.

Just a tip...
On mine, I think it was slightly less alcohol per gallon of gas... The gauge was about 1/3 of the way full and I added first 3 quarts, drove hard a few times around the block (normal city block) and didnt notice it running weird or losing power, so I added the gallon size DA and drove around for about 15 miles, hard and sucking fuel, then sat in line... didnt notice any power drops but the idle was a little shaky at times (dropped below 1K on the RPM gauge for a split second a few times)
