the dome light works good. ill check out the ignition. any idea what color the wire should be coming out?

between the stereo and steering wheel? i found a pink connector behind the jockey box that was attached to the dinger but everything looked fine. i also plugged the dinger into my other BRAT so i know its not the dinger itself.

hey everyone, I have an 1986 BRAT GL and im trying to get my door/key dinger to work. i pulled apart my dash and checked all the wiring behind the jockey box and everything seems to look alright on the passenger side. Im not sure what the picture is supposed to look like under the fuse box however. there is a few extra clips under there that are not plugged into anything and im not sure what they go to. everything else in the car works as advertised. i looked at a schematic and it showed a seat belt timer? where is this located and does it have anything to do with my problem? my seat belt light comes on when i turn the key but goes off after a few seconds so im assuming that thing works. any help would be appreciated! -Zach

hey thanks guys. also, im not sure what jets to use. im stationed in oak harbor, wa so im right at sea level. what do you recommend? im gonna check out that site today. im trying to talk my chief into a weber and i need one for my 86 brat. i bought a kit for my 82 brat from Redline. the adapter plate lined up kind of goofy and they only sent me 1 out of 4 mounting bolts. i also had to cut a hole in the hood for the air filter to fit. when i called Redline their customer service was less than satisfactory.

ive killed three deer with this car. dents are the least of my worries! i just wanted to make sure it would make it. i dont wanna slow down the group. stock tires stock everything except for the weber.

you guys think my 82 brat can make it through without a lift?

ive been thinking and ive decided a CD player probably isnt the best idea for off road use. hey GD what kind of deck would you recommend. and dont i still need some kind of sleeve or something for the deck to slide into?

i just looked and autozone wants like 70 bucks for one. ill have to wait to get it but ill let y'all know how it goes:grin:

hello everyone! i have an 86 BRAT and when i turn the wipers on they work fine but they always stop in the full up position instead of the full down position. it even happens when i press the knob inward to spray the windshield and they kick on and turn off automatically. what could possibly be the problem?:-\

yep its green. problem solved. i didnt need to remove anything though i could get it just by peeking under the dash. thanks alot you guys:grin: hey jonas did you get your fixed?

hey everyone, i have a 1986 BRAT and the clock in the dash always has the dots in the middle blinking and it says 1:00 every day i get in no matter what time i set it to. if i turn it off just for a little bit it will keep time. does anyone know what is going on with this thing?

i bought my 86 brat for $1,400 from the original owner who was asking $1,800. only 113k, rust free and not even a crack in the dash. still has the factory floor mats and tool kit. this thing is cherry. i kind of feel bad for taking advantage of the old guy but that goes away every time i get behind the wheel:) . i also have a 82 brat gl that i bought for a 100 bucks that has been through 3 deer and sunk in a pond. best hundred bucks i ever spent. i drive her to work every day.

hey chris, was that one you bought in seattle for a cd player? i have a spare chunk of aluminum i might use but dont i need the little cubby hole for the stereo to slide in? thanks paul i might just have to make one

do you remember which store or the make and part number? autozone had one for 5 bucks but they said they didnt have a vendor or something. thanks for the help

hey thanks alot you guys. im hooking things back up right now. i had to drill and tap some holes on the manifold so its been kind of slow going. also since i dont have the same air filter assembly with my new weber, how should i hook up my pcv and those lines on my valve covers? and do i need to build some kind of bracket for my throttle linkage now?

i had my brake and bat lights on and they would dim a little when i reved up my engine. i replaced my alternator and now there is no problem. -dont know if this will help but wouldnt hurt to check it.
