  1. Your car is a EA82 and doesn't have torsion bars.
  2. I just used this adapter and it kicks rump roast. It is big enough to provide enough pressure over the water crossover (with a little RTV) for no leaks.
  3. There is always the option of converting to the Hitachi manifold and Weber carburetor.
  4. My little red Wagon runs damn good now, but I'm trying to figure out what goes where as far as the PCV (and other large-diameter hoses) goes...I searched for a few terms and didn't come up with anything real useful. Perhaps I just don't know what to search for. I still need to block off the ASV system, quarters in the block holes...right?
  5. I just chucked my vapor can in the trash, along with all the other crap related to the Craptachi carb.
  6. Last Saturday, I did the Weber swap. With the Trans-Dapt 2107 carb adapter, the water crossover in the intake seals up fine with the gasket and a little bit of RTV (copper was the only color I had when I started). I have to say, the change in driveability and power was rather astonishing. And once I had completed the swap and hit the key, it buzzed to live immediately. It does diesel a little bit on occasion, but that isn't a big deal at all.
  7. I torque mine with a 18" breaker bar and all the pulling I'm worth.
  8. MEK is some amazing stuff and you can still find it available for sale fairly easily. Be very careful when using it.
  9. Another vote for ditching them completely. All they do is make a timing belt job a pain in the butt.
  10. I don't really have any help for you, unfortunately. Sounds like a pretty epic project, though! I say go for it!
  11. I have used that stuff before. Not so fun if you have to take it off again.
  12. Personally, I would use a bushing if you could find the proper size.
  13. Right on! Thanks GD. Hoping to have this project completed in the next two weeks.
  14. Anyone? Are the kits on Ebay worth a damn? I know the carb I have will require a rebuild, it has been sitting for a very long time.
  15. Found a Weber 32/36 carb (unsure if DG or DF series). The plan is to get rid of my failing Crap-tachi carb as soon as possible. Where would be the best place cost and quality-wise to get a rebuild kit?
  16. I'd put a different number on it, like a 4 or something.
