  1. Turbone, that would be GREAT:banana: I knew we should have come up on sunday, but we just couldnt get away. Let me know how/when you would like me to get that hub. Mike
  2. Even though I live in Carbonado, I wasnt able to head up to EC to meet anyone until Sunday morning. By the time we got up there it was like 11 and every one was gone:( Oh well, sorry we missed everyone. Next time Ill be there. Anyways, I want to redrill some toyota wheels and was wondering if anyone in Pierce County has an old hub I can use to pattern the holes. I would like to drill the hubs but I dont have the cash to buy the new lug nuts and bolts. Thanks guys. Mike
  3. They make all sizes. Im sure that you can find one that fits your needs. I will admit that the box causes me to carry more than I used to just because I have the space now. There are way nicer ones out there too. But I figure why spend the money on an expedition box:slobber:. Mike
  4. Heres how I do it. I have used this black plastic box in about 6 different rigs. If we take my brothers truck I just move the box over. You can get them almost anyplace, walmart, lowes and homedepot ect. Really cheap, like $30.00. I secure it in my wagon with a strap through the back seats' hold down hooks. In the summer I have two, two ton comalons, bolt cutters, axe, two tow straps, a couple of clevises, kneeling pad, extra jack, big hammer, 1 gallon of coolant, 2 quarts oil, atf fluid, gear oil, small tool box, lug wrench, big blue tarp, and some other small things, first aid kit, toilet paper ect. In the winter I add my small chain saw, a couple of wool blankets and a couple of heater meals. Everything fits nicely and stays out of site, quiet and relatively secure. If I am anyplace that there is a chance of flipping over, I put a good carabeener? through the lock hole to keep it closed if I flip. Here are some pics WHat do you think?
  5. Cool, Where are you located? This is a great group of people. Very "all knowing". Just use the search or ask your questions and you will have your answers. Most stuff for the subarus of our generations needs to be hand made. I will be doing the 2 inch strut blocks here shortly. Also swapping in a Dual Range 5 spd when money is available. Ive been looking for wheels off of a Peugot, but know that I have seen how easy it is to drill the hubs to 6 lugs on 5.5 inches, I think I will do it that way instead. We use the car mostly as an overland car. Not for rock crawling or real off roading. So the two inches of suspension lift and some good 27 inch all terains will do me well. Take care and welcome aboard.
  6. Yup good mileage. GPS confirmed 30mpg on the trip home over stevens pass. Still have a ways to go on the second tank:banana:
  7. That is on the list. Right now the auto does ok and gets good mileage. But a 5spd dr will be aquired and installed as money permits.
  8. Been doing some searching this evening as to the best way to wire up back up lights. Do you all think that it would be ok to splice into the original back ups' harness? That way they come on automatically. When I build my roof basket I will have some general purpose lights facing the rear on it as well, and they will be on a switch. Mike
  9. I live in east pierce county. If you are going to Evans Creek this month you will pass right by my house. Its a little town called Carbonado. Ive got a 1990 loyale that I will be posting pics of today. And Im definately going to be doing this lift. Its just enough for me, plus maybe a little fender roll. My car is mostly a dd and used for fire roads/dirt double track.

  10. one eye,

Are all the lifts in the "home made lifts" thread that you have pics of 2 inch lifts? If so that is the perfect thing for me.

    Thanks

    Mike

  11. I will come up to meet everyone. No wheeling though. My family and I might continue on up to Mowich Lake. Seeing as I live in Carbonado and it is the last "Town" before Evans Creek, it would be a shame not to come up and introduce myself. Also as a side note, I may have available for use a fair sized piece of property and a large two car garage with some tools if someone needs a dry place to do some work. Ill just have to move some things around a bit. Cant wait to meet everyone and get a closer look at your cars. Mike:banana:
  12. Sorry, we just moved and I cant find the batteries to the camera. As soon as I do I will post picks though.
  13. HOLY CRAP!! I didnt think the pick would be THAT large. SORRY:eek:
  14. Wow thanks!! Here is a pick of the wheels, I dont have them at the house or I would measure them. Thanks alot Mike
  15. I have a set of steel wheels from a 66 chevy half ton truck. They are six lug 15 inches tall and 6 inches wide. If I need to I might be able to post some pics. Thanks:-\
  16. BeefaRu,

Do you happen to know the paint code for the blue on your wagon? I think I would like to paint mine that color.

    Thanks

    Mike

  17. Just went over to Wenatchee to pick up a 1990 Loyale. Been looking for a couple of weeks and found nothing but heaps of poo. This one was worth the drive. 1990 Loyale, 3 owners including me. 147k Paint in decent shape, VERY little rust. Needs front tires and not sure what to get or how big I can go stock. I will look into that later. CV's all in good shape Engine runs very well, timing seems to be off though. It was pinging pretty bad when I test drove it. So I put mid grade in it to bring it home. Took care of almost all the pinging except for the steepest part of westbound stevens pass. Three speed auto that seems to be in fine condition. PO claims a high of 35mpg. Looks possible, I got aprox. 29 on the way home. I will know exactly when I refuel. Interior is in PERFECT SHAPE. Power windows/locks work perfectly. It has AC but the compressor doesnt engage. Not sure if it is a fuse, low freon switch(if these have them) or bad compressor. I will be trouble shooting that soon. Also a set of yakima cross bars too. All in all a great little car. Especialy considering the $900.00 cost. I have missed having a subaru. I will be checking the posts for lift info ect. Not sure if a 2 or 4 or 6 inch is for me. Gonna do some learning about this auto too. My first one in a subaru. Any how just wanted to share the joy.
  18. Hi guys, What a great source of info. Fantastic web page. I live in East Pierce County, in a small town called Carbonado. If anyone has been up to the Evans Creek ORV Park then you have passed my place. I am currently without a Subaru, but looking hard. Looking for a lower mileage OR well maintained Loyale DL or GL wagon. Mostly for a daily driver and then a lift and whatnot. My family and I enjoy being out in the woods and spending alot of time together. I work for BNSF as a student engineer and enjoy the work. I look forward to reading all of the post here and getting to know everyone. Thanks for a great page. Mike
