  1. ummmm , hello ? whats up ?

  2. hey bob , welcome - is this your first subaru ? you are going to love working on that one , the designs make a lot of sense ! good luck
  3. i didn't bother to balance them , the whole thing was really an experiment - wasn't sure it was going to work . my 81 gl wagon is front wheel drive only , so i jammed some low profile 50 series meats under stock suspension . i had to cut the front wheel wells just a little so they don't rub on turns . now that i've been driveing around some and i'm confident they will work fine , i'll go and get brand new tires mounted and put them on the wagon myself . it looks really cool - sorry no pics yet - no camera :-\
  4. i never even thought to drill the hubs , i cut the center out of an old stock wheel , bolted that to the 15" wheel , lined it up on the drill press and started pokeing holes . as for the tire shop - well i got some used tires from a guy and mounted them myself - old school - crow bars . yes it sucked but i did it to aviod the "why did you drill the rim ? " question . saved a few bucks and had a pretty good work-out right in the driveway .
  5. YES , SUBARU IS NUTS ! WHO ELSE PUTS THE STARTER RIGHT ON TOP WHERE YOU CAN GET TO IT EASILY ? EVERYBODY ELSE BURIES THEM UNDERNEATH , WITH CRAP IN THE WAY ! I DRIVE MY SUBARU'S LIKE AN OLD MAN - AND I'M GETTING CLOSER ALL THE TIME - 2300 / 2500 RPM IS MY TYPICAL SHIFT POINT , GUESS I NEED TO MASH THAT PEDAL ON THE RIGHT A LITTLE MORE .
  6. Hey , i've got an 88 xt6 ,looks just like that - except for the ground clearence , has that one been lifted ? Or is that the air suspension max'd out ? My air ride was removed before i got it.
  7. Thanks for the video , moveing right along . Sounds cool ,nice exhaust work !
  8. Hello , looks cold where that picture was taken , i live in florida - but came from upstate ny

  9. MY 81 GL WAGON HAS HAULED A WHEEL BARROW AND SHOVELS FOR YEARS ON THE ROOF , AND ALL MY CONCRETE FINISHING TOOLS IN THE BACK . I ONCE HAULED A PORTABLE BASKETBALL GOAL ON THE ROOF , FOR A FRIEND WHO COULDN'T FIT IT IN HIS HONDA TRUCK
  10. That makes sense , thanks for clearing that up - nice self-control not fireing it up at 10:30 pm , i'm not sure if i could have waited ! I am getting older and a little wiser , i probabley wouldn't have gotten any sleep though . Good luck , your getting closer !
  11. Very cool looking brat , i had no idea that subarus could be liftedlike that . I bet it's a blast to drive off the pavement
  12. Wow , nice fabrication work ! I hope this isn't too stupid of a question ....but ....you can make a subaru engine run backwards ? Or am i missing something here ?

  15. sorry for the brat troubles ... with the cap off , do you see a good "flow" while looking in where the cap sits ?your radiator could be plugged up not allowing a free "flow " . does the electric fan come on when the motor warms up ?
  16. hey , i just put 205 / 55 / 15 " on a 81 gl wagon , i need to trim the front wheel wells just a little to turn sharpe . looks feally cool , hope to get some pic's on here soon
