  1. Central Carolina's Region SCCA hosts a 24 hour autocross...basically, you work for 4 hours (2-2 hour shifts each 12 hours) and the other 20 hours you are runnin, sleeping, eating, etc.... Results! http://www.ccrscca.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=112 The RX made it from Atlanta to Winston Salem NC (7 hour drive iirc) and made it all 24 hours (3 drivers taking it for runs over the 24) w/out incident. The course favored power cars and cars with power that could carry momentum...as an STi was the car to have...it set an unofficial FTD of 42.0....the best I could get out of the RX was 44.198...I was SEVERLY gear limited. The first section was pretty high speed, 7k for most it, NOT worth it to shift into 3rd...back stretch was flat to the floor in ANY car, and I topped out 3rd easily. I was running in HI range all day/night. I hit 4th on a really fast run (not the 44.1 tho) Since I am driving the Continental/boxer4racing 2.5 RS at Nationals, I took all of my official runs in it...which is why there are no runs posted in the RX. However, JWX was there and proved that TWO RX's can show up and run w/out problems. The RX is CERTINLY dialed in suspesnion wise...definatly lacks power and gearing is VERY short....the RX is more of a monster on the tighter courses with more technicals...this course was pretty wide open, but the finnish was VERY critical and tight. the STi i drove to 42.6 was hitting the rev limiter in 3rd on the 'back stretch'....FAST. With the RX stuck in too short of gearing and loosing too much time shifting...the Conti/boxer4 RS on Conti Porsche compund street tires is 1 second faster than the RX...on a tigher course the two cars would be even...if intercooler equipped the RX would be fast. Mainly the lack of power and proper gearing for the course is that 1 second lost. RX puts down ~100 at the wheels where as the RS puts down ~150 at the wheels. The RS is prepped for STX (tho swap of the cats and the 225's on it, and its an STS car!) The RX is prepped for FSP, but due to the BOV its in SM. (plus i have existing points and its more competitive overall) However, I drove the RS to a SM class win, beating out ALL of the top contenders who were on FULL RACE TIRES in an RS on STREET TIRES. That and us 3 were only separated by 0.007....Jon K. and Steven R (racerjon1 and pleiades respectively) are FAST FAST national level drivers...and I am right there with them. Time to kick some STS Civic butt in Topeka 9 days from now! Either way, the RX is definatly there suspesnsion wise, it just needs proper dampers, wheels (13x9) and PROPER EMS/AWIC....then, it'll be FSP kick-butt ready.
  2. because Exedy sucks....and no one wants to make parts for our cars anymore...even tho the DISC is UNCHAGED from 1985 to present.
  3. i *THOUGHT* i had an issue with that...but I never did. my issue ended up being the clutch pedal was all messed up.
  4. that woudl be in BAR....aka metric measurement. 1 bar is 14.7PSI...2 is 29.4...3 is 44.1...6 is 88.2
  5. Yes. Ive done so before with no problems.
  6. um....full wiring harness swap basically.
  7. i see. IM running 5w30 Motul 8100 synthetic.
  8. So... I stretched the spring on one...+5psi I resealed and stretched the spring on another...installed it tonight...+15 psi....and NO aeration so no more HVLA ticking(old mickey mouse/pig on a bike gasket was BRITTLE and broken in several places). However...i still want more. Its got aobut 50~55 at warm up, ~15 at idle when warm...and ~40 at cruise when warm. EJ's have right at 100 cold...60~80 cruise warm...and ~40 idle warm. How so? New stuff me thinks.... So...worth it to sink $150 into a new pump? Edit: I am running Motul 5w30 8100...100% Synthetic.
  9. indeed...the smack talk is most normal for the NASIOC-SE peeps into the autox scene.... I will be on 13x5 rims with 215/50/13 Ecsta V700's on them at autox tread depth that are aproaching a year old now...so shane definatly has the physical tire grip advantage.... weight, I do have him. 2600~2615 is how much the RX weighs in at witha full tank of fuel. our spring rates are similar...but Shane has the advantage of Koni inserts, as I am on worn out KYBs. as for suspension bushings..i dont know what shane has, but I have full polyurethane... I have more camber and castor too! then it comes down to driver...im sure we will swap cars for a few runs to see what is what...
  10. Negative. Their prices are sky high compared to my source. $55 for the disc alone? Cant beat that. btw...so far, the disc handles full boost launches with my setup with the STOCK cover and stock weight flywheel. 0% slip once the cover is fully engaged on the disc. best of all, its EXTREMELY streetable.
  11. you better be prepared to get p2n3d by not one, but TWO white RXs.
  12. thats correct. Both the stock XT6 and the stock EA82T factory and OE replacement aftermarket ones slip at around 12~13 psi with TWE header/TBE, intercooler. Otherwise, w/out IC and stuff...it holds fine up to 15 PSI....the car makes a TON more TQ with the header/TBE and IC. the consensus is that you cannot use the stock stuff anymore if you want to hold 180+ crank HP for more than...well, one day. No. Yes. My clutch held that. That was the "stage 2" at $165...for a 25% over stock cover, an 8 puck kevelar disc, throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Presently, that setup is in JWX's RX now. My car has a stock cover with the same disc...it costs $55 by its self. Dyno charts to come of the current setup with an AWIC.
  13. yeah...you shoudl go from 75 at the wheels to about 110 at sock boost with header/TBE, intercooler and intake....with boost, about 140 at the wheels at around 12 psi.
  14. it got toe'd out...i fixed that with a 19 and a 12.
  15. The RX is ready for SCCA National events now. Next step....air/water intercooler, Koni inserts, and some new seats. Then...roll bar.
  16. basically the time and $ might not be present to beable to put into the production of them....that and making a JIG that will work with ALL EA82T cars...AND the cost of a welder that will do the job day in and day out...pipe bender(mandrel)...etc etc.... it adds up. Basically, if we had a source for proper piping, I could make the headers/downpipes here at Top Speed...but, at the final cost, no one would buy them really... thats why Folgers still has so many left...and why I have 3 of them.
  17. Ive had 134 systems make ICE on the cabin vents. Dont tell me it aint cold.
  18. Oh...yeah...that. If its get it back to that, with this block, I'll MAKE it do 13.5@100+
  19. Dont expect any real numbers anytime soon...I *might* throw it on the dyno for fun...and just to see where the power is at....right now, no IC and it doesnt look like I'll have one anytime real soon...as I need a heat exchanger core for the AWIC, and a pump for it...plus all the plumbing/piping for it. I am considering frontmount...as it is definatly SM legal, and with a few minor things here and there, it WILL be FSP legal as well. I'm not going to go too crazy with it, as eventually I'll prepare it properly for FSP. Otherwise, SM for simplicity right now.
