The Sumitomos are the best ones you can find. tirerack.com my BFG's are used race car take offs....its a spec series all season type tire...but its free so I dont care. I get about 5k miles out of a set.

Its certinly a regional thing...I'm sure outside of the SE in a more Subaru populated area I could find some.... as for the other points....i dont have any real hardcore factorial data to back anything up that I might say, so I didnt say it. However, I realize that stock, they are slow. Stock they handle like anyother 80's subie. Stock...you might as well not even try keeping up with a base Impreza or Legacy. My RX on the otherhand...back when I had the other engine in, and ran ~14 PSI...wave bye-bye to the STi in your mirror...I'll see it on the otherside of the Dragon when the roads get straight again. Granted if you add in the nice springs, whiteline swaybars, and a TBE on said STi...it'll keep up....then pass you on the short strights....and slowy creep away. I realize that you own an STi and I am sure you are well aware of how fast they are in stock form. Yes, my RX *WAS* as fast as that. Now, it is not nearly as fast in a stright line, as FSP-Solo2 rules keep me from boosting/larger turbo at this point, but the handling is more than there.

Allied Armament Christmas Group buy Notification

I might be able to get in for the 13x9s that I wanted a while back... -
Yes. Everyday. Been thru 20 sets now. On the 5" wide stock rims...steel or alloy, doesnt matter. I have 215/50/13's on a 5" set. I have seen 225/45/13 Hooiser's on 5" rims...those are 'supposed' to only go on a 8" or 9" wide rim. 195's are for kitty cats.
-
In all of my traveling ever since I knew what an RX was (5 years now)...outside of the 3 board members on here who I have met personally that own one or more.....I have only seen two. They may be more common in other areas of the country, but in the SE Region...they are very uncommon.

Data recorded tonight on the dyno. Ambiant air was...*drumroll*...76~78 F. the charge pipe from the turbo was reading around 190* externally via IR temp guage. the MegaSquirt has its intake air temp sensor mounted in the piping imediatly after the AWIC.....it was seeing ~80* most of the time under light loads and idle. light cruise was around 90*~95*. 3rd gear pulls....it crept up to 110*~120*. LONG 5th gear pull....*135 max. It cooled back down to near ambiant very quickly...i never really baby-sat it at all. I only sprayed the heat exchanger core down twice...and these are not the temps from those runs...the sprayed runs were about 20* cooler. I'm going to say that my AWIC certinly works well.

well, 116hp/140tq are the semi-final numbers. thats 10hp and 6tq increase. Off boost power is a ton better...and butt dyno on the street says its really around 20hp/15tq increase. A lot left to do.....throttle enrichment during driving is way off....its got a weird timing stumble between 2000 and 3000...and MS-2 doesnt feature knock system monitoring or control at all...that's got me stopped on tuning. the 12x12 table....lacks....fine resolution. I could not get the AFR's smooth...but they are better...no more pig rich....mostly 10.5~11.5 in boost. tried to get 14.7 everywhere else...but it smooths from 14.7 to 12 when comming into boost...then from 12 to the sweet spot range for boost. Timing is...set...to...alot. I need knock system stuff damnit!

big N-O on that. The EA82 per specs...we need the LONG ones created as if from nowhere. The shortys are avalible off the shelf from ARP......meaning, the 12 LONG ones remaining...ARP will have to MAKE them. over $600 for a set.
-
Ok, so we are up to 113/133 as compared to stock 106/129.... still lots more to do. and YES...the MS is in, and working perfectly.
-
No, the short ones are already avalible. Its that long ones that are custom...
-
All it is.....isa block with 6 ports. Inlet...FPR port...then 4 for the injectors.
-
I'm not paying $600 for a set of studs. I'll pay $175 for the EJ set and then the littl extra for the short ones that ARP has for the engine....
-
ARP's for EVO no worky. 12 mm too short. Otherwise, perfect fit other than overall lenght.
-
So I've come across a set of 560cc injectors (@40 PSI) and an EBCS...all from an EVO. The injectors fit perfectly in the stock orings for the manifold. With a little rubber hose they will fit great with the stock rails. My custom rails on the otherhand...i need to get out a stock injector and see if the stock injector hold down hardware will work with it. Now all I need is for someone to come up with the MS-2 software to run an EBCS and I can boost.....and boost and boost and boost....on the dyno, wih a wideband...and with am AEM Master Tech-Tuner here to make sure I'm tuning this thing correctly. Oh and I have a barrel of VP Import (Leaded 126+ Octane) sitting here I could throw in.... Where's that VF39 I saw laying around the other day.... Oh and I think EVO ARP head studs will work in place of the short bolts on the EA82s....and there is a possibility that the EJ ARP's are not TOO long so we could use them in place of the long EA82 bolts. Both the EJxxx series and the 4G63 have the same head bolt thread pitch.

Weight of different car models

Wrong. Mine weighs in at 2548...STOCK. Compare that to "late model RX" aka STi...3285. -

VNT+AntiLag=t3h win! aka 51 PSI at 2500 RPM on or off throttle. -

RX has me on my last nerve... (UPDATE)
WJM replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I've considered an SAFC....since it was free...but, I came to the conclusion that stock was just fine....until I got a MegaSquirt. -
A real working MBC this time!

RX has me on my last nerve... (UPDATE)
WJM replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ive had no problems with 0.050......and that was when i was runing 2 steps colder with 15 PSI on TW header/DP, STI TMIC+intake. sounds like a tuning issue with the SAFC, or definatly cam timing. I know that out of the 20+ cars I have installed SAFC's in...they seem to run fin with 'default' values...but are still funky until properly tuned. Keep playing...we are not allowed to have only 3~5 fuctioning RX's on USMB. We need WAY more. -

Hey....theres one of those laying around the shop....not that I need any more boost. -
Tonight we played some more with it....it is currently idling like OE...which means steady ~1000 RPM idle...no missing. Just smooth idle. Next...more idle and crank-start tuning...then off to the dyno to tune.
-
thats the stock A/F...the wideband only reads 10:1 as its lowest value....its PIG rich. Im not back...just this thread. otherwise, i posted this in the AWIC thread that I have. the Engine Control System is stock. I have done nothing to modify that. bone stock the A/F's are like that. at 5900 its a loss in tach signal from the Dyno.
-
it was a 30 TQ gain. its 150hp/190tq at the crank.... It's all on stock boost.

Air/Water installed. It rocks. hot air in............COLD air out!
