  1. i've owned my subar for 5 years. never been hit (excent once in a road rage incident where she kicked my car....the bithc). all dings and scratches are self inflicted.
  2. you gotta be carefull voer inflating the triple tread. the middle rib of tread, the "snow" tread, will wear a lot quicker than anything else, especially over inflated.
  3. i consider this every day on my life.
  4. hey, come on now. you're new, i see that, but this isn't i-club. be nice and be constructive. i, personally, think it looks silly meaning that i wouldn't do that, but he loves it, he loves it, and more power to him. a lot of people think that my car looks stupid or "sucks" but i love it and thats all that matters. but to say "it is definitely sucking" is for another forum.
  5. that's kinda what i was thing. you're already willing to spend 7grand. i'm sure you could find something good like that.
  6. yeah, i'm not getting a lot of your reasoning for those things.
  7. i used a 600ft lb impact gun on the fronts. needless to say it didn't take very long. about 3/16th of a second each.
  8. yeah, my car has a "stop" and "go" button too. but 6k miles is REDICULOUS. I understand the you "drive" your car, but you're doing something wrong. unless you're using ultra high preformance tires that have a treadwear of about 120 then you need to rethink your driving ability. you should be able to "drive" your car and get a lot more than 6k miles out of then. and yes, i agree, the -2.5 camber will eat tires like micheal moore eats double whoppers.
  9. you guys are nuts. 3K miles is THE BEST way to get the max life out of tires on a daily driver
  10. i lifted my 96 legacy with outback struts and it gave the undercarriage ground clearance more than my parent's yukon. however, the mid-height (breaking over a log or something) is still higher with the yukon. Get it? i don't think there's much in the way of vehicle restrictions in AZ. if you want to lift something higher than just adding outback or forester struts to a legacy or impreza, then you'll want to talk to Allied Armament or Back Yard Boys. They make body lifts for subarus, and i'm sure they could help you out. so you know, putting outback struts on a legacy or forester struts on an impreza will give about 2.5 inches or so more height. then you could get King Springs that'll add about an inch or two. so with springs and struts you're looking at about 3 - 4.5 more inches. you can get body lifts anywhere from 3" to 6" i beleive. So, there's a lot of possibilities. as for car lifts and truck lifts being the same, no. they're the same idea but work differently. with a truck you lift the body off of the frame. with a car, there is no "frame", it's all part of the "unibody". So, to lift a car you have to drop the suspension components, the engine and tranny, lenghten the rack, so on and so forth. So to sum it up basically with a truck you're lifting the body, with a car you're dropping the suspension. that's about it in a nut shell. a very large nut shell. if anyone reads this and disagrees or has a correction, please correct me.
  11. it's all about the lights. i love it.
  12. how new is newer? 94-99 are super easy to lift (use outback/forester struts on the legacy or impreza models respectively) so, how new? what model? how high? what's legal in your state?
  13. since there's a picture of it here, i'm guessing it's not off topic. why is there no scoop? i thought the scooped outbacks started in 97? replaced after-market hood?
  14. you successfully nagated the point of buying an outback. kinda stickin' it to the man eh? i can dig.
  15. yeah, andy, i see this thread quickly getting moved into our realm of the forum
  16. very nice guys. does my car look higher than a normal legacy? i've seen it so much now that i don't notice the lift by just looking at it
  17. It's about time now.. there's been a growth in lifting and wheeling 90's models. DISH 'EM OUT!
  18. i agree. i think it's about time to make a 90's gen lifted thread.. i'll get on that.
  19. heh heh, looks like a monster truck with the itty bitty trailer wheels on it
  20. He didn't ask how do I? He asked Has any one ever. . ? Woulda been faster to type air locker and press search to find the answer was yes/kinda. come on man.. everything that can be said (with the exception of new models and lines) has been said and/or talked about. if every time someone had a question or something to say and searched for it first, there would be no new posts except for in off-topic. repeat threads are the only thing keeping this forum a forum instead of just a database.
  21. based on what my #4 spark plug looks like, i've got oil leaking down into my #4 cylinder. Anyone know any way to fix this?
  22. i think that the lack of responsed is due to that the post doesn't make any sense. rephrase
