  1. i would say that there's a reason why my parent's GMC Yukon won't go into 4x4 if it's in motion. i would imagine that what you've hooked up is pretty much the same thing (a push button that goes from 2x4 to 4x4) if i were you (sorry for the "guessing") i'd play it safe and do as the SUVs do. have the car running, in neutral, and not moving. and that is a very educated guess.
  2. what size fuse are you supposed to use in the FWD box? i'm sure it's probably in the owner's manual, but i havn't posted in a while and i'm not sure where my manual is....
  3. anyone know how much HP my 96 legacy LS puts out? EJ22
  4. i just got the chance to drive a customer's SVX. very cool. but no buttons on the wheel. Maybe XT or XT-6????
  5. no no no no no and no. it's from the early 90's. someone at work thought that it may have been for an early model legacy. also, much of the interior of the car was controlled by buttons on the steering wheel, which is why the guy said that it's not a car, it's a rocketship.
  6. what car was being advertised in a commercial where a guy sayd that it;s not a car, it's a rocket-ship??
  7. you will have absolutely positively NO problem putting 65 on instead of 60. it's only a 5mm difference in sidewall buldge which is only 2.5mm on each side. actually by going 65, the tires may be cheaper. i fit a set of 205/70R15 tires on my car at work and there didn't seem to be a problem with rubbing during steering or suspention travel. even if there is, see, i have the luxury of working at a garage so i can put all four on, see if they work, then have the option to pay or go back to the stock size. so, no. i'm not using any mods.
  8. sure, i can't go "beep beep" real quick to say thanks to someone because, for one, it would scare the piss out of them, and for two, yes it is a little slow to get up to speed (the compressor) but when it comes to getting someone out of my way, it's pleanty loud and fast
  9. i hooked up my first set of airhorns to the stock horn directly and i kept blowing the brake light fuse, which in turn does not allow you to shift out of park... also, if you go with airhorns you'll need to buy more hose. mount the horns inside the front bumper and the air pump in the little cubby behind the left front suspention tower. if you mount the pump in the bumper, it will get wet and turn into a solid chunk of rust, and then you have NO horns.....which i'm still debating what's worse...a subaru horn, or no horn. being that i have a 96 legacy as well, if you have any problems, PM or email me. (losdiosdeverde86@yahoo.com)
  10. it will work if you hook it up to the old horn wires. you will blow fuses though. you need to hook it up to the battery, then a wire fuse (i'm using a 15a with my airhorns), then through the little relay that the aftermarket horns should come with then to the horn/airpump. there should be a schimatic with the horn package if you go with Flamm
  11. Green '96 Legacy LS -JVC Stereo -Dunlop SP Sport A2 195/60R15 (soon to be GY Regatta II 205/70R15) -Flamm dual airhorns -Super Blue headlights -and a lot of mud caked on the outside.
  12. anyone interested in trading their black interior trim (around the shifter and window switches) for my woodgrain? (2nd gen Legacy) (PS: i don't think that i'm cheating by not putting this in marketplace. they're not technically for sale.)
  13. (Good Year) regatta II is a really good tire. it's just too boring for me. i say be a rebel and go for the GY tripple Treads. they're supposedly the latest and greatest things out there. look them up on the website.
  14. what do you need a speedo for anyway! fast is fast, slow is slow.. just stay in the middle
  15. also, don't forget that the e-brake is inside of the rear discs. it's possible it's caught up. try yanking and releasing the hand break a few times before you start taking stuff apart
  16. i took it for a drive (and made my gf feel really bad for taking my keys) and nothing much has changed. i feel i wasted my time.
  17. after learning what one was, of course i wanted to do it. being that i have a day free to myself (on account of the happenings in my "I Need Help! Now!!!!!" thread) i preformed the procedure....as if i were an unqualified surgeon operating out my garage. i disconnected my airbox from the intake plumbing and saw that there sure was a lot of sound-deadening stuff going on in the wheel well, and being that there is none visible on the intake itself, i was not suprised. i saw all of the work that it would take to remove the wheel well plumbing (removing all of the plastic in the well) so i said "screw it" and disconnected the box from the stuff in the wheel well and moved it semi-out of the way and taped over the opening (of the stuff in the wheel well, not the air box) with packaging tape. now i need to wait for when my girlfriend gets home with my keys so that i can go out and see if it works. i'll keep you posted.
  18. how do i go about removing all of the stuff from the wheel well in my leg?
  19. nevermind. he gave me the day off. i guess it's not busy and they don't need me today.
  20. a taxi would take an hour to get here anyway. i live in the burbs
