  1. Has anyone tried these tires? http://www.mastercrafttire.com/us/en/ProductDetails.asp?ProdType=SUV&id=44
  2. Tail door I like that. I could use a few tail door skins also, all depends on cost with shipping and all.
  3. I'll be there bright and early mon. for the diff., I don't think anyone would find the yard. It's a long way off the beaten path. The rock guards are alittle bent up from setting on the ground, nothing a hammer work won't cure. The rotors look good, maybe one light pass on the break lathe just to clean them up. The pads are almost new, lots of meat. So it seems my Brat, will have 4W disks, to help slow her down for a small pay out. Still undecided about the diff. change.
  4. Pulled the brakes off today, had one axle nut torqued to about 800lbs. but other than that, it went well. The car has a build date of 7/88, and yes it has a LSD and the price is right. My buddy got called home early or I would have got it today too, I'll go back Monday and relieve that old waggon from it's acid rearend.
  5. I remember when all the hub-bub about switching over from R-12 to 134a. Shops charged an arm and a leg because you had to change some of the parts of the system, conditioner or dryer or something like that to have it work right. BULL CRAP I did the switch from R-12 to R134a on my 1986 Ford truck. I just got a change over kit at Pepboys for around $30, that had the quick disconnect fittings, gauge, oil and a three of cans of 134a. Screwed the the 134a adapters to the HI and LOW connections and put the oil and 134a stuff in the system. That was 8yrs ago and it's still blowing cold air today.
  6. Thanks guys I will check the dif. when I pull the brakes, so I might just come home with more stuff than I thought.
  7. Do a search, there was tread that asked the same question a few weeks back, with a lot of info.
  8. Does a 86 Brat come with a LSD? I havn't put my Brat on the road yet except a few jaunts around the neighborhood to test the drive train. It sure acts like it has a lsd. It puts up a fit when you try to turn on blacktop in 4 wheel drive. The inside back tire tries to turn as fast as the outside tire. Acts like a locked rear or a real tight posi unit, I'm preaty sure that it is a stock rear. Isn't that turbo rear be a 3.70 or is that just for a gen1 turbo car.
  9. Cool!!! It's a 5sp push botton 4x4. It looks like the only thing gone from the car, is the turbo itself. I'll be going back up there tomarrow with my truck and tools instead of my bike.
  10. I know this has already been hashed over. I found a 88 turbo wagon in a bone yard today and he quoted me $30 for the rear disc brakes, if I took them off. Will these fit on my 86 Brat without a bunch of fab work and is this a good price?
  11. Theres some on ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7910037130&category=33701
  12. How wide are 14" Pug alloy Wheels?
  13. 8.2 seconds 2001 Ford F250 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel 2wd AT
  14. The Brat I picked up, came with the stock wheels and new 185/70/13 tires and they just look too small for the truck. I just want a tire and wheel that will fill the wheelwells, but not rub and without having to hack up the body. I like the width of this tire over 7 1/2", they should look and work good.
  15. Would these tires fit on a un-lifted Gen 2 brat? Roadmaster Rampage GT http://www.roadmastertires.com/us/en/ProductDetails.asp?ProdType=Passenger&id=109 235/60/14 25.06" tall 7.60" wide I've got a set of Mazda SE5 14"x 6.50" truck wheels, that I plan on using. I thought I read that a tire under 25" tall would work.
  16. Do a search, there is a lot of info on that type of swap. It's not just an R/R deal, there are somethings that need to be addressed.
  17. That tailgate looks good. You guys don't know what rust is. Now this is rust and dents. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=468 They know how to sell new cars in Michigan, they throw enough salt at the roads in the winter, it's a wonder the Great Lakes haven't turn to sea.
  18. Check out Roadmaster tires at http://www.roadmastertires.com/us/en/passengerSegment.asp They are made by Cooper with a wide selection at good prices.
  19. Intake = .010 (.25mm) Exhaust = .014 (.35mm)
  20. Take the other three bolts out and rotate the skid plate so you can see whats going on. If it is the capture nut that has come loose, you should be able grab it with vice grips, channel locks or maybe a wrench. If the bolt is turning inside the nut, just pull down on the skid plate and turn the bolt out.
  21. I found this one on a web search, don't know if this the one your looking for though. http://www.rustrepair.com/app2/onlinecat.htm?p=sm-subaru
  22. Might be a dumb question, but did you unbolt and take the bellhousing off?
