my '84 hatch...
I found some loose connections for the am/fm radio....It works... what do ya think the first song that came on ...92fm kgon....? "old time rock' & roll"...by Bob Segar....so kewl ....the factory speakers sounds great for old skool.... I also tore apart the blower motor...one of the brushes was just gone....dissintegrated...to dust...I hope to find another soon...

my '84 hatch...
I went through the car last night and completly chking everything out. I replaced the battery..it was toast:dead: $55 alternator charging @14v ok... had the door locks rekeyed..as the owner lost them... $29 replaced fubar'd locking gas cap $11 Replaced missing rear hatch wiper a few burned out bulbs .... shop vac'd the interior... found some change.. ordered front brake hoses...cracking to the core.. psi chk'd cooling system ...found a small leak @ radiator ..I can solder that..needs a flush and fresh coolant anyway...+10* Hoses chk'd could use radiator hoses, heater hoses.. cleaned the carb/linkage runs a bit better now /choke works great.. I did find some small oil leaks @ valve covers(loose bolts)+ oil pan gasket(loose bolts). I will reseal those when I pull the motor to do the clutch. The motor runs great up to about 5k then not so great above that..needs a valve adjust...that'll be done when the motor is pulled. The only things that don't work are the blower motor, am/fm radio... Ign. switch is ok but I need to get it rekeyed...(owner lost key.. ) For now It is unbolted from the back side two screws.. a flathead screwdriver starts it up ok... I'd rather have a key vs..toggle switch...keeps it nice....abit more secure unless they want it that bad... I found a water leak from the rains here the left rear window seal... the latch doesn't pull tight as it should.worn out seal/latch...so the out goes the carpeting...was gonna do that anyway.... I found it interesting comparing to my '03 outback how much Subaru is basically the same...they still use the same fasters..and similar designs..just updated...pretty kewl...

Are we in a race to see which one of us gets our car back on the road... J/K... I'm doing my clutch this week ...when my clutch kit shows up... Hey , I can surface your flywheel . We have a flywheel resurfacer at my shop.... I'll be gone all weekend so I won't be wheelin' yet...

Skid plates design
EA81/EJ22swap ..SJR 4" lift ..skidplate Put me down for one...

my '84 hatch...
here's one for now...more to come....yes ..It's virgin to offroad...the undercarriage is so clean..... It's very straight inside and out.... the rear seats need a cover or just taken out.. looks like a dog had it's way with it... The motor is so clean and runs so smooth for 172k....not one oil, coolant or exhaust leak on her.... I think I found a diamond in the rough.... I also won an ea/ej SJR adapter plate @ WCSS10.... not bad for $20 in raffle tickets! I don't have to paint it ...it was yellow...now it's wheeler black... I think Team CF's wagon gave birth...his is an '83...lol It also needs a new blower motor.... Too boot it has good tags thu '09......! So my total investment is $270 add $80 for clutch and She's ready to go....with the ea81...I'll get the EJ22 ready..

my '84 hatch...

I'd bring my old Brodie expresso .If I didn't break the frame a few months ago... I know the best singletrack hands down with very technical sections just off hwy 30 near a small town called Wauna,Or

The WCSS10 peeps wheelin' planning thread.
Just use a blue bag....and an old water bottle clearly marked witha bio hazard sticker..(lol..no confusion for H20). That's what the forest service makes us do when we go climbing...I'd like to see them dispute that one ...since the USDA endorses the use of blue bags...!!!

The WCSS10 peeps wheelin' planning thread.
I'll be coming down Friday....early for TSF wheelin' ... thinkin of puttin' the tube bumper back on ....and lights...I still need my skidplate welded....doh...so little time..so much to do.. I was @ TSF yesterday...cruised up Diamond mill rd. to Triangulation pt. ...great views it's been 2yrs since I was there last... The bad....lots of road construction....during the week..So we won't be going there...Friday.. I'll be on CB ch 5 like Scott..Also FRS radio ch 5 sub 10(WCSS10)lol.. When and where do ya wanna meet @ TSF...perhaps browns camp...or the gravel pit at the summit of hwy 6.

Starting up a 4x4 group
I'm all up for a local group... I'm working on getting a new wheeler...Gl or Brat...so I don't have to deal with my heavy long wheelbased lego outback...

WCSS Astoria , wheres the trails , lets do a run during that weekend
I've been planning something like this for a while...I'm thinking abit more like WCSS8 that I did with GlGraig...so everyone can do it.. TSF would be our starting caravan enroute to WCSS10..Friday would be the day of choice... I have been scouting out a few routes...in TSF up to Astoria... Of course wheelin spots for sat/sun...are optional for the hardcores...

high pressure solenoid circuit fault
scoobyclimbs replied to bdecriscio's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXfixed it...after checking the line pressure pinouts. I found the 2-4 brake duty solenoid not working...I then pulled the trans pan and looked it over and the connector was broken when I went to disconnect it. So I swapped another one from my good vavle body and and no codes ... and shifted flawlessly....... In my effort to troubleshoot this problem I see that the code PO778 line pressure solenoid"B" electrical is very generic....I could be a number of issues...

Best all-season tire for Subaru Outback for W Coast and winter ski trips
I've had great luck with Bf goodrich traction ta H rated in upto 8"of snow without chains...I am on my second set but upgraded to the sticker v-rated. These tires are great handling in wet, dry and don't squeal when you push the limits on the twisties... . just bring a two sets of cable chains for mtn travel. They are great on gravel too...for those mtn roads.. If you've got the cash get a set of Nokian hakkapaletias with or without studs they are the #1 winter rated tire in the world....

high pressure solenoid circuit fault
scoobyclimbs replied to bdecriscio's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI will do pinout tests on the line pressure solenoid to chk if proper voltages are present at the harness. connector B54 terminal 9 throttle fully closed(engine off)after warm up voltage should read 1.5-4.0 volts with throttle fully open(with engine off)after warm up should be less than 0.5 volts resistance to body (ohms) 9-15~ It's also a possibilty that the internals of the trans could be blocking flow no allowing the solenoid to operate properly.. These specs are on an '03 outback 4eat phaseII w/o sportshift

high pressure solenoid circuit fault
scoobyclimbs replied to bdecriscio's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI just swaped to another trans and have the same issue with the line pressure solenoid(which I also swapped from a good working trans.) Code PO778(line pressure "B" solenoid electrical). Mine has only 1st, 3rd gear, reverse ... I'm suspecting the harness as a possiblility... So did you find out what cured your problem...?
