  1. You shouldn't have a problem...mind you I had no spotter (2 1/2yr son. strapped in) I got away with minor scratches .. There's a few whoop-dee doos and it gets tight in the trees...I had one guy on a dirt bike tell me halfway in midpoint near the view)"It's 76" maximum width!" I replied "How do ya think I got here ...? air dropped from a chopper!" . I chuckled.. Before I even attempted it I asked some hardcore jeeper/rangerover folks What's it like.. ? They said " you wouldn't have enough clearance.." Did I prove them wrong..! I also noticed their tires and body panel scraps on the bolders... I laughed to myself " I cleaned that with no spotter...lol!" I also ran into some really cool jeeper folks there they thought it was way kewl my outback could do it..! Once I finished I came back down to the start and helped them fix a busted brake line ... The end is ugly (optional)...ya need a 4" lifted rig and mudterrains for it...lots of bolders and ugly ruts! call me when ya wanna go...I'm game to go down again! 503-314-7535:headbang:
  2. Whoa! Hold on here..this was done on a legal Firebreak rd. ..it's not used much and abit overgrown. ...even the St. Forest map shows it as a rd. ! A cat cleared that trail for slash burning...note : clear cut area the photos are taken... I stay off all Illegal trails...! Wheelers and ATV folks can co-exist! The signage at Tillamook st. forest is very clear! It will show a jeep, quad, or dirt bike ...some are open to all uses ...example: Let's not put our foot in mouth before all the facts are present! Just because a rd becomes narrow and overgrown and few have been on it doesn't mean it's a quad trail...but "quad sized" refering to tightness. I think most of us here like the quad sized trails or " jeep double track with overgrowth . " here's an overgrown road..for ya as an example ...also in Tillamook st. forest...near Triangulation pt.
  3. I had some fun on a road turned to quad trail...note the drivers view I was teetering on two wheels... http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9183

A buddy of mine from Orcas Is. came over in his '04 outback mystic blue like mine...I got some great pics when we cruised up high on the FS rds...and were treated to the Olympics and Mt.Rainier... Thx, Richie for bringin' that WCSS8 sweatshirt ...It made for a warmer night given I forgot my sleepn bag...DOH! I was toasty in subie style! I gave SJR a light so he could work...We camped together with his famiily and was a great time...! I wheeled abit both days...as well. Great to see some old friends and meet new ones...
  8. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen...!!! my son and I had a great time(his first camping trip)...Thx again Richie for the sweatshirt WCSS8 !!! ALso World ONE for the P1's ...I about shat..myself... It was a blast wheelin too..Turbone almost rolled...and busted an axle... 12. I'll be heading up early Sat. if anyone is going then...CB ch.20
  13. a few more pics:dead:
  14. Yeppers! I'm back on the road....Wahoo! she drives like new... I did a complete rebuild of the front differential and dialed it in. I could only work on it after work for a few hours here and there. It was actually a fairly easy job...just time consuming...(getting parts....I purchased the only carrier(spider) gears in town....no one had them...). I'll post more pics of the teardown and aftermath.....
  15. here's some update on my progress...I pulled the 4EAT out and dissasembled the f. diff and replaced the pinion gear/bearing (wasted). Also the ring gear...I didn't like the pitting I found on the spider gears so I'm replacing those too. I went down to Rallitek's new shop(nice facility) and met Marc....kewl guy. Picked up a trans mount bushing insert. for $29.00 ...might as well upgrade while it's out. Here's few pics before the camera batt. died. Note: the wasted pinon gear!
  16. Found the little bugger... lurking inside the case...
  17. Is this a trick question...?

  20. Here ya go...note: day two we got 2nd in Open class regional...not to shabby after a rollover...!
  21. great shots...I got one sent to me of Paul Eklunds car #233 rolling over on the last stage day one it's a short video...! I 'll post it up soon...
  22. I was there crewing for Primitive racing #233 and Rockrohr's car #228. I ran into "marshall" Qman...and Cmiller as well. It was a rather damp to say the least...especially Sunday! Primitive car #233 rolled on it's side sat. on the last stage puting us dead last....but we recovered virtually unscathed! Rockrohr #228 went into a ditch and broke the left front lower control arm..., bashed L.F fender, broken L.mirror, rear side window. Good thing for gorilla duct tape and garbage bags! They guys crewing for All Wheels Driven + Rockrohr are awesome!!! and kicked some rump roast on the control arm! Then another guy from across the way was an alignment specialist and lined up Rockrohr's car !Kudos to you!!! Sun. Primitive won 2nd in the regional open class just behind the Hintz's Rockrohr finshed unscathed... and it rained all day and then poured on us . I want to give a huge thanks to Hobart Manning "Outback Angler" and his crew for serving us some of the best food I've ever had "shimp creole" and all the other dishes both days!!! Chris and I met up after and ate at the awards banquet then caravaned back to PDX that night ...Chris got some great video of the rally too!
  23. sounds good! I'll treat ya to some sweet trails! How bout I hit ya up for a Chico trail run....I'll be down over memorial day weekend..
