  1. Sounds great..However, were heading to the beach.. Might be a winchfest as the snow levels are pretty low...I'd love to get up there again...!
  2. What all was needed to do this swap? 1 -H6 alternator Harness plug (foot of wires)and Eyelet connectors with a foot of wires(2 white) to splice into existing loom from an ej25 or h6 harness from 2000-04 . Try a junkyard for this...hard to find..! Note: the eyelets are bigger on the h6/ej25 harness than ej22 that fit over the stud. Solder/heat shrink butt connectors or tubing, split loom, zipties, 100amp fuse/holder. , 4ga wire. I'll post up a pic of which wires to connect. for the charge/guage.
  3. WOW! I cannot explain more....I was blown away with the action..
  4. It works.. I swapped it over with no real issues...plenty of juice for winch, lights...etc.. Those that run a/c may have to modify some..
  5. I'll be there in my hatch...Go Primitive #233..!
  6. Yes...It's happening... Anyone wanna carpool or carvan up there.. I'm camping near there..
  7. I watched live streaming video on espn3.com whilst taking a quick break doing struts on my outback. It was awesome! The next event is in Seattle! At the Old Mill rally park april 15,16 2011 I'll be there! here's a link http://www.global-rallycross.com/?page_id=61
  8. WELL, actually just read a thread from AUsubaru.com and they were saying they were running 215/70 R16s with only slight rub at full spring compression with a heavy load in the rear as long as they had 1.5" or more of lift. Guess i'll be getting 28's on steel... sometime in the future, maybe grab a set of ralitek stiffening springs to lessen rub possibility. Hope i can score some junkyard VW steels as AT2s are cheap, or maybe tirerack will get them in stock soon since it's nearly spring, or i luck out on craigs list or something. I run a 40mm offset Konig (incident )wheels so that might help as far as choices go. They were cheaper than steelies. Note: be careful of anymore suspension lift than 2" your cv's will hate you.
  9. Offroad caravan over Mt.Hood via lolo pass and cool trail runs in the stevenson foot hills...!!!
  10. I have shifted a few brownies in dump trucks and log trucks... Go for it...!
  11. After popping the strut top..bearing..I used a ratchet strap to keep the strut lift block and strut from popping out..It was a long drive home.. Luckily the strut had not gone beyond the stretch limit of the brake hose..( I had a spare though).
  12. Grind your front calipers to fit the rims . About 1/4" is all you need . I did mine back in '05 on my '03 obw. So I can run a 215/75r15 with very little rubbing at full lock. Go for the BFG at's don't waster your money on the yoko...I ran those they ar noisy and handle like crap compared to bfg.. BFG you get triple side walls..adn the stick like glue and very predicable drifting...
  13. I'm in.. New trails are supposed to open at Santiam pass...real hardcore rock crawler stuff too..! edison butte is pretty good once the snow melts out (Mt. Bachelor). Virtue flats has all levels..Just outside baker.. TSF is a given..
  14. It's basically the same wheel tire combo I've had for years... the wheels were a close match to wrx wheels. I really don't care for the snow wheel look all black..and the stock outback wheels were ugly... There is no extension on the spare tire basket..I just have long x-bars to fit a cartop/basket . The basket is just a quick fab of two metal tables welded together.
  15. I had a full tube bumper years ago..sold it to fund my hatch project...
  16. After 7yrs it was time to change it up abit.. First was the factory bumper cut up to give more approach clearance. I painted the bumper with Plasticote flexible bumper paint (black). After painting the bumper I had a flashback from '04. I spotted 'THE NORTH FACE ' edition outback...in all back... What the hell I just wanted a change..Looks abit meaner now .. A set of bfg all terrains rounded it out nicely...
  17. This was from 2 weeks ago. FSrd 3550 Mt. Hood breakin' trail near badger lk./gunsight junction. Note: my new bumper cut/painted for more approach clearance..
  18. I can help as well, Remember our offroad tour back from WCSS12...too much fun.. call me 503-314-7535
  19. Better chk for fire danger closures...they've closed all the trails down more than once..this year has been pretty dry... I'll be in Bend this weekend..
  20. It was a great trail run.. I know there are more pics...The broken axle repair was from the mudpit...
  21. your not kidding...cmiller and I are having last minute issues.. I had to reposition the driveline angle after reclocking the torsion bars..last night, cmiller rig we have to do struts, strut bearing plate and kingsprings... tommorrow...ack... had to next day air frieght the strut bearing plates...
  22. I'm getting 25-28 mpg with EJ22 on my lifted hatch w/m/t's loaded..with gear/overhead rack w/lights. Thats doing alot of steep long mtn passes or not.. If I unloaded all the gear and lost 50lbs of beer gut..probably closer to 30mpg..
  23. the pic of the baja has my old bumper...!! so I'm in need of another one..for my outback. I like the ARB style..too. Must have a winch mount, light tabs, pulling points ,shackle holes.. Try www.subaruoutback.org these folks are dying for bumpers...
