Yes... My air filter was just black, and when I dropped it it left a rectangular powdering of dirt on the ground! I couldn't even see threw it. So I got a new one popped it in, and the car idles sooo much better. It also feels peppyer and its getting more boost. I also plugged the vacuum leak and and checked the NGK plugs.

my car *might* pass emissions now, I changed the BLACK air filter and plugged the vacuum leak. It runs better and its easier to keep the revs where u want. And it also doesn't smell like a gas can when u sniff the exhaust! It smells like catalitic sp? My friend wants to go with me to the tree place to get a tree, how much are the passes? I don't want to pay a ton if he has to bail on me. But I would like a tree as well.:santa: Oh and I would bring the snow tires and hook up the linkage...

Redmond? Well its pooring down rain right now. I don't remember reading the post about the air filter change and stuff b4 I went threw emissions... I could be wrong I dunno. But ya I will try this guy, if its that cheap.

In the rain when I get on it, it will spin the tires in 2nd no problem at like 30mph. And in the dry it will suck u in ur seat when ur really smashing on it. I wouldn't call it stupid fast, but its not boring to drive thats 4 sure.

I went outside, plugged the vacuum leak problem. And it did seem to run a tad better. Too bad I tinkered with the idle adjustment, now Austins tells me thats not to be messed with...:-\ I don't see how it has to be EXACTLY perfect. But I will try to check some of the stuff U guys said tomorrow... Like air cleaner, plugs vacuum leaks, and so on...

we have a compression testor, if thats what ur getting at?

it idles badly under 1000rpm. It runs like a cat with a sculded rump roast when im on it though!

My brat Failed horrabliey too 2yrs ago i had to get a wavier after even ater tons of money on tune ups carb ajustments oil chages and it still failed every freakin time (his **** realy works) whats (his **** realy works) mean? whos is he?:cornfuzz:

I did all of that, I drove it hard fast on the freeway, went to texaco and got premium gas, I was on that turbo the whole way back! And went to emissions, and failed sooo bad.

Well i figured out how to adjust it and took it in. And I failed horribly!:boohoo: I dunno what i'm gonna do now. This car is a pos! Everything is going wrong lol, I'll just have to dump more $$$ into it. Its really fun to drive I just wish it ran good.:-\

Well I guess I didn't fail then, cause they gave me my money back. But there seems to be no idle screw anywhere. And The one idle looking screw i tried to turn wouldn't budge.

Ok now what do I do? They say my idle is way to high, its at 1400rpm! Its a ea81t and I have no idea how to adjust the idle? Any clues? I'm in a rut here... I was hoping to pass today, I can go back tomorrow and try it again. This really sucks. AND the car blew a cv joint. And it was reman cv joint.

Ive been letting it warm up and take it to redline and stuff... To blow out crap from the pipes and stuff. It runs better now then it did when I first cranked it up. I will use the best gas I can get. Thanks for the advice Calebz & Torxxx. The exhuast leak isn't that bad.

I don't like the idea of alcohol. It is a ea81 Turbo. I will get that JB weld stuff. But it might just not be clamped enough, its just a temp. muffler so I can pass. And when I pass later down I want to get better exhaust.

I am going to attempt to pass emissions in the subaru. I don't think its gonna pass! But I'm gonna try. Do they let u go back as many times as it takes to make the car pass? If I have a minor exhaust leak will it fail? Should I get that fixed first or what? Should I run some cleaner though the car? I have been driving it for the past 2 days short trips around my neighborhood. It runs pretty good got lots of pep. I will let the car warm up well and should I put better gas then normal in? Or should I run cheap arco gas? Maybe it will burn faster? Sorry for the billion ?'s im just hella nervious that theres gonna be some HUGE problem and it will have to be fixed b4 it passes.
