"You are an: Old beat up 80's wagon! HAHA! RAD! You kill it everywhere, talk crap to kids in Hondas with snowboard racks, and probably have at least 10 zip ties on your car!" I actually do have alot of zip ties on my wagon... Scary. -
My "NEW" 1988 Subaru GL 4WD
SuperRallyRoo replied to mr.radon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ur in seattle... Go to PAP get all the parts... "you need to swap out the pedal assembly under the dash, remove the steering colum to do so...not to hard." I didn't do that on my ea81 wagon but it may be different? Sence I have swapped over ea81 automatic to 5spd d/r in my wagon I would be happy to help if you are close. Transmission setups are pretty much the only thing I understand on subarus so far lol. -
Yes I'm that Matt... And as for the ea81 to ea82 5spd d/r swap, u can use the ea81 flywheel the clutch fits fine! I dunno why everyone uses the ea82 it really screws you up when u try to adjust your timing. U will need to buy BratsRus's 5spd d/r kit, which will need to be slightly modified to fit the wagon because it is designed for brats, and U will need a custom drive shaft, so thats 268$ without tranny or new clutch. If u get your drive shaft done from the place in yakima that I got mine done at. or I hear u can use the ea82 2 piece if u have a welder or want to drill holes in your car. Hope this helps... I'm learnin

Changing fuel pumps.

Yes we are in the process of doing this now. Kinda embarrasing. -
Changing fuel pumps.
SuperRallyRoo replied to SuperRallyRoo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Shall I light up a fat one while I'm doing this? (Pun intended) -
I am changing my ea81T wagon's fuel pump from a turbo fuel pump to a carbed fuel pump. Is there a way to stop the gas from flowing out all over me or do I have to crimp the lines with vice grips or something? And is this swap possible if I am using an 86 hatch fuel pump? Are they in the same location? Thanks.

I had a great time! The pics I took are lame because my camera won't zoom and they don't let u get too close to the action. Thanks to all who gave me rides! I had more fun getting rides then I did driving the volvo. :brolleye: Amazing job Ken! And Jeff got 2nd in his very first rally cross ever in his justy! That was cool... Way to go guys!

If it does make it, I will consider myself EXTREMELY lucky! Cause lots of problems at Austin's are poping up. And we haven't even swapped the fuel pump or the steering rack yet. But I plan to do all that tomorrow. I really want to go in my wagon, and I have all the stuff needed its just the time it will take to put it all back together. So its looking highly unlikely. Too bad it couldn't be like next Sunday.

xt6 seats in ea81 car
SuperRallyRoo replied to archemitis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I am thinking about doing this in my wagon, I would like to see the pics. Could u take a pic of the mounting? It might be hard sence its in a hatch though... -
"First off, Alfa's were pretty ugly compared to your average italian sports car. (maybe that explains why alfa is a failure)" WOW WOW WOW Back the Alfa bashing up! We have owned 2 alfa Gta's and a 1987 milano. None of which looked that Pugly. Alfa failed in the Us market because they were too maitenance needy. They are going strong in Europe! I can see where the grill looks sort of like a alfa. But it looks more like that weird car someone posted at the begining of this topic. Anyway, its just a grill! I love alfas (more so then that ugly subaru) I wonder how much it would cost to put that into production? Looks to be a $50k sports car. Anyway, I have to admit this alfa is pretty ugly... But they did make other cooler cars!

SuperRallyRoo replied to rallyruss's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

pole:[who has power steering]?

Yes But maybe no... 1983 wagon- yes but maybe not for long. -
Yep, another problem with the brat...
SuperRallyRoo replied to Mr. Carb's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
They just put the motor in a little while ago I watched them put oil in it. -
My car did the same thing when i took all the plug wires off and replaced them to factory settings. Apparently my disty was 180* off. And! Once I did wonder why the subaru wasn't starting, I thought the gas gauge didn't work. It was totally out of gas.

To paint or not to paint?
SuperRallyRoo replied to calebz's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Austin and I polished mine up on a wheel and painted the letters gold. It looks pretty sweet... -
Now the question is. How much hp does it make and is it even fast? Pretty cool little car though. I always wanted a justy. They crushed the little black 4wd one that I was gonna buy.

Turbo wagon runs again.
SuperRallyRoo replied to SuperRallyRoo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well the ea82 flywheel on my ea81T car makes it so the timing marks won't line up I guess? What Austin said...
