tdi outback
Yeah my buddy builds them, Acme adapters. Really some of the best set ups, with great mpg! And VW tdi is old news when it comes to Subaru. You can buy an imported EE20 turbo desial for 5k$ and it will bolt up right up to any Subaru, same bell housing as the EJ. I'd do it but don't have that kind of money...

Something like this happend to my loyale, (not a turbo) but had the sale rocket arm set up. It won't start worth anything, I thought it was fuel, wasnt. Turns out it had been sitting for a whiiiile 2years. And when I turned it over valves got stuck which made the rocker arms fall off there mount. And having the valve stuck open was letting gas flow right through out the exahst and poping up the intake. -do a compression test, compression tests tell a lot about the car. Wright the numbers down you get in Psi and let us know what they were. and it's a good start from where your already at. Hope this helps! -Prwa

Mock up in solid works, Subaru R160 Locker
Good to know! I know its pretty on when it rounds to a whole number and not to a bunch of random didgets. Prolly when I get to the full deal on the Subaru locker I'll talk to him. also it's not going Have the same amount of teeth seeing at the r160 is way smaller, so it's going to need its own custom dimentions. Which I'll have to figure out my self. Getting the r160 diff Thursday! Thanks guy! -Prwa

1988 subaru turbo GL, EJ22 and 4" lift, plus 6lug swap build!
Well made a little progress today, hooked a little bit up, started looking at the radiator and it being a turbo the neck is pointed up making it a pain to set up a hose for it. So i pulled out the ej radiator started looking at it, the ej being 1" taller, I ended up pulling off the black supports on top and bottem and it fits pretty close. So I'm going to fab up a little thing for the bottem for the dowels to fit in the ea rad dowel holes. And prolly make something that looks good for the top to hold, better than zip ties haha. Time for homework.........

EJ swap issue...Exedy XT6 clutches discontinued?
Rockauto, I just bought the Rino one off them for 150$ but havnt got her going to know how goo it is. But beck and arnley I've heard good things about them. That's what I've seen most people buy. Rockauto is where I buy almost all my random parts for cheaper than every where else. And they have codes for 5-10% off which makes it nice.

I know man! I was plowing the same in my stock loyale! They eat snow like no other! I've never gotten stuck in a Subaru! I had a pretty dumb moment last night thinking about thouse tires, for sole reason I was thinking 235/r15 was a 27" tire... I started looking at them and theyre not going to fit without fender cutting in the back, 235's are a 29" tire haha... Way bigger than I was thinking they were! time to think about cutting haha. Yeah it's going to be a monster! Espeshily to be driving around in little Sandy Oregon! Man I cant imagin how much fun it must be living in Alaska with all that snow! We don't get enough down here in Oregon, every one freeks out when there an inch in town and for my Forester it might as well be rain. Haha. Have you thought about making you own lift? It's pretty easy if you have the tools. I only bought two parts the rear strut 4" and the diff drop plate. Which both were 50$

dang!! that sounds awesome though:D!!! did you want me to paypal you 6$?- Loyale EJ swap
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=122765 this has a lot of the costs, petty much everything nux says is whats needed. this swap can be time consuming but took me 5min to drop the motor in the other day, bolts up prefect with sjrs add plate. power train wize, if you like your ea tranny keep it, swaping trans is just another cost. this shows you everything youll need and be doing, price parts out of there if need be. http://offroadingsubarus.com/downloads/EA2EJ.pdf for me im doing my swap on a major budget, so i had worked off the motor and other parts so, i think total including the car so far ive spent 750$ on my swap. i also stripped down my harness too, cutts 200$ out of the cost or so. and this is my build http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=127240 hope this helps! -Prwa- Noise coming from the rear diff when engaging reverse and when slowing down...

Havin some troubles and can't find any diagrams for it... Spend atleast 2hours trying to figure it out... Im pretty sure I got all the parts there. Pedal, spring and bracket. I can get it together but can't figure out how the spring goes in there... Any help would be awsome! -prwa- Mock up in solid works, Subaru R160 Locker
Me too! I'm a pretty modavated 20 year old, after my classes in solid works I stay and draw and learn the program for hours after everyone else has left. And I'm not a normal high school guy, homeschool all the way! Other than community collage at 15. If anyone is going to do it, it's me. I started drawing random gears the other day to figure out how to angle them, I actually stumped the teacher and then surpassed him and made one way Easyer and better than him.- Mock up in solid works, Subaru R160 Locker
Sounds amazing to me! I'm stoked now! -Prwa- Mock up in solid works, Subaru R160 Locker
Pm sent!- I'm New to USMB!
Yeah 4" are a pretty good choice, not to big not to small. Now for the stearing I have one laying around that I could fab up for you for some green?$$ and springs no need to diffrent springs, it's a spacer bracket that hooks from the top of the frame spacing to the top of the spring. And the front struts are simmaler but diffrent type of set up. EJ stuff Now the clutch your going to want it an Xt6 clutch kit, the pressure plate is stronger and can hold the extra torque from the ej. Xt6 years I think are 88-91, I just bought one off Rockauto for 150$ not bad for that clutch when napa wanted 230$. For the motor your going to want to get a doner car, prolly pick out up for cheap crashed but can. Or out here in Oregon there's a place that sells the motor and harness(not stripped) runs and all, so you don't have to mess with a rebuild. Turbos I've read arnt good for wheelin. Gears wize as low as you can go is 3.7 I'm pretty sure but you won't have to change any of that. Many guys run 3.9 and 4.11 with larger tires with no problem. And you'll need an addaptor plate, I'm getting ready to make some now, so keep an eye out for it or pm me when your getting ready for the swap I'm pretty sure than answers everything? Haha. Lot there. Oh! Here's my build thread! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=127240 I'm poor due to school, so I've done everything my self and in a tight budget. - 1988 subaru turbo GL, EJ22 and 4" lift, plus 6lug swap build!
