  1. well i suppose i made a bad call i just knew that it shifted fine except into 3rd i couldn't shift very fast because it wouldn't go, just kinda jam. I just kinda spun the parts on the shafts and would try sliding the collar on the 3rd gear one and i would have to wiggle things to get it to slide on. The little teeth on all of them have the same shape to them with the triangular ends on one side. All the other gears i just free spun them and quickly slid the collar and they would engage just 2-3 is a little weird. This is the first time doing anything to a tranny, so im trying to learn
  2. do you have the dr quill shaft/ball bearing holder, mine broke on the press due to me not looking for all the snap rings and getting in a rush. anyways ive looked at everything and cleaned parts up in a solvent tank and all the syncros "appear" fine just 2-3 one is a little jammy
  3. before i injected it with the water/meth occasionally i got a little surge:horse: that freaked me out and i quit over all that i added it that was at first around 65 degrees outside
  4. alright i just miss awd because fwd is just killing the tires i got access to a press at school and i suppose i will disassemble and look at it.
  5. i figure a $90 shortblock that gives me at least a few months of fun and takes a day to swap is worth it to me
  6. supercharchers seem a little more spendy, plus i had a ea82t layin arround that came from the car
  7. also i don't have a t-stat in but i got plastic over half the rad. to keep it a little warmer, i know its all pretty ghetto
  8. outside air has been kinda cold usually between 30-60 degrees this time of year i am also now injecting a little washer fluid in the intake

  10. i found some wrx manifolds and modified it to clear the waterpump instead of getting a turbo pump that costs more money haha. ill try to get pics up just gotta figure it out
  11. yes its a 25d with phase 1 22 heads, just built it moreless because i was bored lol and always heard people saying this or that will happen but never seen an example so i wanted to try it:D
  12. my tranny just got destroyed today and i got a ftawd d/r tranny i wanna put back in my rx, but when i drained the oil was very grey and sparkly, with a bit of shavings on the magnetic plug and a lot of input shaft play and leaky seals, so the question is where would i get parts such as bearings and what not if all the parts seem good? and is there anything special about doing this task?
  13. ill start off first saying, i know it's a very big no no to do this and, yes i boosted a 11:1 ish hybrid franken moter with no management all stock internals and a ea tiny turbo and am running 5psi and im not looking for criticism about what could happen or anything, just sharing. I did a ghetto methanol/water injection using the washer tank and a pressure switch spaying before the compressor on turbo in hope of it mixing better and i get full boost at 2k so lag is almost non existent Ive been daily driving for a few months now over 2k miles and it produces a very clean feeling power to 6500 no fuel cuts or detonation signs and i mash ALL the time on it:brow:, im running all 92 ej22e engine control, just thought i would share
  14. this happened to me, i pulled the motor and started teardown and there it was a tensioner without tension
  15. they look great but its a little far and i wont be doing anything to fancy
  16. my car is all ready 2.5in back from my ghetto headers but im going to work with something other than hacking up stock parts
  17. ill think about it, but im going to the exhaust shop more than likely this weekend, how much are you asking for them?
  18. anyones besides those? thats outta budget, if not ill be getting something from the local exhaust shop made, he does good work at a reasonable price
  19. alright i guess i gotta find a stock one then or get the muffler shop to make me one then, something unequal length for that rumble:brow: the backyard ones are very close to el but kinda makes it sound like a honda
  20. I've found nothing, im wondering what dualport headers to buy for my ej swapped rx (ea82 body) right now im running my homade ones off the flanges that keep getting cracked from hanging so low and it kinda sounds ricey. I was looking at the ebay ones for under 150 bucks, if any work which ones do i buy for, legacy, impreza, forester?... what year?
  21. well the reason i built the frankenmoter is to have more power, and its alot more than the ej22 in a little rx, i will be replacing the t-belt, as soon as i get the money, and i should have just bought new headgaskets, but i didn't i kinda thought that metal ones were reuseable, just not graphite ones, from now on i wont be reusing any or spaying stuff on them. mine haven't leaked any yet but im always checking and keeping a close eye on temp just in case. thanks for help though
  22. ok i guess i better then, i thought it may still non-interference due to heads? but makes sense to me, glad it didn't jump teeth or knock the belt off from it being extremely loose:eek:
