  1. Do you want me to come and help you? I have both Monday and Tuesday off next week, I could stop by... I just did my 6... got the engine out, resealed, fly'd, clutch'd, and added new motor mount and back in yesterday and today I got it finished off... I know my way around these things... If you have the time, we could probably really make a dent in it... what all does it need again?
  2. So I guess that means your gonna do it yourself... and when it doesnt work, you want sarcastic answers from me.... Godd luck, have fun... I guess I'm glad I was too busy to order parts to do it for you
  3. Well Noss's engine is in my garage on a stand.... in block only form ATM... we plan to have it done for the meet... you have like 23 days, get to work!
  4. A user taken in Moderation. Hey wheres all them sweet lifted 360 vans at?!
  5. Yes.. I do mean camber issues... Just looking at my car you think you can see it, but if I drive in the wet or snow its a for sure thing... the tires dont pick up water/snow on the inner 1/2" of the tread..... These tires were cheap, but I dont wanna have to buy new ones all the time.. what do I do?
  6. Just like my lift was... then I returned the front upper blocks cuz they were so wrong! They do have sides... look carefully at them
  7. Maybe you should tow your Rx down to me and I'll finish it for you... just leave me all the parts you want opn it and a few bux for gas, and I'll get it back to you real soon:brow:
  8. Just wondering how far if at all it was off, and what I can expect to pay to have my camber corrected.
  9. Ricko has his lift... If I wasnt working om my 6 this week, I'd help him, but hes a pro, he should be ok on his own
  10. Welcome.... You should come to the meet... It'll be fun and pretty big this time it seems. IMps, Legs, old school...
  11. Too bad we cant say the same of your car captian breakage..... You watch WAY too much initial D... Maybe you should sell the 6 and go for something slower... like an Automatic BRAT...... Maybe that way you won't break it as much:brow:
  12. Jerry... you have a PM..... BAH!!! You SOOO stole that off of Ebay didnt you!?!?!?!?!? I wanted it... damn slow rump roast dial up:grin:
  13. DOH! ^ that may be it... but also pulling the valve cover is easy, you might do that and check to see if any of the rockers fell off... Let the car sit a while before you start and I usually have no oil drop issue... Check that out, just in case
  14. You can take me off that list... I will not be buying anything from you.
  15. ummm... sounds kinda... cool ... I guess... but the way the intake is it might hit the hood....... plus whats the goal? cool ness? more strangeness? I have a short ram intake and a turbo hood so I almost have a ram air system... but its more like a cool air system....
  16. I knew not to try and lift the diff with the high lift... DUH... We were talking floor jacks., but Blue great write up, thank you. I do have the HF jack, and I would hope it would work well for the subaru... I really only plan to use it for emergancy/wheeling situations.... (aka, stuck or changing a tire on the side of the road) I have a floor jack that is MUCH lighter then the high lift, but it was that pricey Sears aluminum one and I'd rather have the high then the pricey one with wood that really is rather scarry in its self.... Of those that have mounted these jack on the outside of the car... is there any like rubber boot I can buy to protect the components from the weather? I still would like to mount it somewhere to free up room... ATM I have it in the trunk with my full size spare and bag off tools, and the spare to my 6 (real useful in there BTW:rolleyes:), come along, chain, timing belts, and tow rope, and I'm running out of room to carry 3 guys to a junk yard and get parts... I'm gonna rig a Bronco II:grin: rear door tire carrier to my wag to get the spare outside, but I'd also like the jack out of the way. Any thoughts on protectins it from weather?
  17. This a very very bad idea... Acetone is not a nice substance and will dissolve any rubber components in your fuel system like the O rings around the injectors, lines, and pump components... not to mention it might free up some junk in your tank that will move down stream and either clog the in tank filter and possiably kill the fuel pump, or plug the regular fuel filter, or clog the injectors.... Acetone is not ment for running in fuel systems at all and a very bad idea... although it might save you gas, it will cost you in maintance
  18. Ummm is jacking off the rear diff really a good idea? Isnt it kinda held in by hopes and dreams and rubber mounts? That is my issue is that I have a full size spare, but no means to really get it on, I also carry a coma along, I love those things. I'm also thinking of removing the rear bumper and welding in some extra metal to the bottom of it to reenforce it and maybe help in the liftability... I also kinda want to cut up the front bumper and do the same for liftyness and I kinda wanna mount a winch:brow:
  19. So I got a high lift jack for my B-day and had some questions. 1. Where have you guys mounted yours at? I was thinking rear bumper, maybe take the bumper off and support it real well then apply jack. 2. Jack points with this thing?
  20. EVERYONE IS WRONG BUT ME! Firstly, I have my timing light in my wagon, so if you want me to check, just say so... the noise she is hearing is NOT pinging. It comes and goes, it stays the same noise if its 85 degrees out or 5 degrees out... its just like something rattling around the engine, but I havent had time to take a look. Its been making this same noise for about 4 months now, if it was pinging or detonation, I'd think itd be done by now. As far as the coolant leak goes my guess is that its the little hose on top of the block thats a pain to get to... but again I havent looked, that ones just my nemisis:rolleyes: Its a rather slow leak, so its gonna be hard to find... it only takes about half the reserve a week or so.
  21. Any opinion on what I should bring? Choices are the lowered XT6 or my monstar Wagon... Dr K.. what are you bringing, project cheap or your Rx?
  22. Rick called me me crazy?!?!?! Hes the one flooring it down the trails! I just kept it in first lo the whole time... and I didnt break anything
  23. Fixed it... kinda Broken Wagon+Phil+ Rage= Fixed wagon... I basically just rocked the $41t out of it then while rocking beat up the shifter.... That'll teach it!
  24. anyone have a link to a pic of a tear down of a D/R? or can you tell me if I take the back plate off can I get to the internal linkages?
  25. Ok... As far as the ise thing, I dount it, I haven't made any river crossing recently, I DID change the gear oil earlier this year and it wasn't cold enough for frost let alone ice.... The tranny is a D/R not a PB... thats how I got it into Lo:rolleyes: I havent been driving around in 4wd either, its been dry here. I doubt its the wheels locked or the brakes... I know it doesnt move and if that was the only issue I might heavily suspect that, but my HUGE problem is that its stuck in gear... My 2 big Ideas right now are this: Noss Idea: Broken shift fork jammed in the gears... He had this happen to a Civic he beat the hell out of:grin:. His solution is new tranny Simmions(old auto guy) ideea: The tranny "misgated" due to old bushings and actually got stuck between 4th and reverse.... His solution is to get to the real shift linkages in the tranny and knock some sence into it. Any thoughts on that?
