Random Coolant Leak?
that much water that quick id bet its a cracked head. less likely to be an intake crack because it would have to leak past the valves and i doubt that much would get thru that quick. a EJ swap is going to take longer than a weekend and rebuilding the original is going to take more than a weekend. machining and replacing what ever is FUBAR in there might thake a week. a used EA motor IMHO is always a crapshoot as to wheather or not you will get a good one. time to get those heads off... and i mean NOW gotta get that coolant out of there before it causes any other damage. plugs look like they were pretty bad as well. drain all the coolant you can out of the cooling system and then pull the heads off its the only way to find out whats going on. it only takes about an hour to get them off so get to cracking.

ea71 with turbo and harley davidson mikuni carb
i think more than 9 lbs would make it likely to fail want mor boost get a different motor lol but thats just my 2 cents and if you are DDing it do you really want to risk an overboost? i know i wouldnt want to lol

ea71 with turbo and harley davidson mikuni carb
it makes 7 lbs which trust me is more than enough lol no boost leaks at least not the last time i saw the car (2 weeks ago) and hopefully ill be doing the body work this year. the concept was amazing just didnt have the time to put in the body last year. also the intercooler does work its just not super efficient. and how much boost do you really want? this thing walks away from my stock leggy on 7 pounds and its been running over a year reliable and quick seems like a win win to me

looking for 5 lug conversion parts?
im frustrated in trying to find these to the point of anger so im trying somthing different. im making a call out to all you owners who would like to someday have these availible at your local auto parts store. ive been vigorisly emailing doorman about reproducing factory spec replacement xt6 hubs and would encourage all of you to do the same. im sure if we all annoy them enough they will be on board as its easy money for them and easy swaps for us. http://www.dormanproducts.com/dispstati ... _Idea.html here is the link

- Bolt-in EA series Alternator upgrade. Nissan Maxima alt installation guide.
thank you for the sound advice ill report back when its done- Bolt-in EA series Alternator upgrade. Nissan Maxima alt installation guide.
gauge of wire determines fuse size there is draw down on LONGER runs but the shorter the less resistance less resistance=more amps. at least thats what im deciphering from what ive read. im no electrical expert but i know fused wires are better than no fuse if you want you can do a little expriment at home to prove this. grab a pair of 9v batteries out of the junk drawer, 2 peices of small gauge wire, a 1 amp fuse, set of gloves, soldering iron, solder, and a fire extiguisher. take one wire cut it in half, solder the fuse between the two halves then take the ends and short the battery. fuse should blow fast and remember how hot the wire got. now grab the gloves, the other battery, the other chunk of wire (without the fuse), and make sure the fire extiquisher is close by. with the gloves on short this battery see how hot the wire gets. dont do it for long dont want the battery to split, or the gloves to catch on fire! this will basically prove the need for a fuse no matter how short or how long the wire is you will get the same result. ohh and when you are done do us all a favor READ THE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU SPIT YOUR OPINION! i just wanted to know what size fuse i should use not whether or not a 2004 chevy tahoe has every circut fused and whether that upsets you because :Flame:you dont need no fuses for yer rig:Flame: i like to be safe personally so ill be fusing mine if you have a suggestion as to what size fuse should be used i appriciate it if you want to try to justfy your unsafe setup save it for the next idiot. ok now that im done ranting..... GD thank you for your direction to the proper information but unfortunatly it is all greek to me. i have a spare 4 gauge about 22" long i was going to use. according to the charts ive read itll sustain 110a but with the maximum output being 90a logic to me says slap a 90a fuse in there and call it a day but that doesnt seem right..... any advice would be appriciated- Bolt-in EA series Alternator upgrade. Nissan Maxima alt installation guide.
thanks for the info GD also did we ever get a final conclusion on whether or not this was bolt on for the xt turbos? and to clairify according to the FSM they are 55A stock also the alt size difference is for hood clearence issues same reason the XT6 one is wonky. ill be trying this while i change out my oil pump this weekend and IF there is modification nessisary for the XT turbo ill document it here if thats alright with GD - Bolt-in EA series Alternator upgrade.
