  1. he doesnt sleep when most people do good luck with that one.....
  2. Not a bad price for those Beegeer. thanks for the link! But Napa had what I wanted for $71 plus tax and I got em the next day, I love not living in the middle of nowhere. Now the car is on jack stands and the struts are going to a friends shop sometime this week to get put inside the springs.... yeah its nice knowing people! I cant wait to take off in the rain and not have the guy next to me think I'm running him off the road.....
  3. Yeah I bid and won the two struts for $64..... but I think the guy wanted more money so he refunded my money and put em up for auction again. I left negative feedback and it got taken out some how and I dont have time or energy to figure out what else to do about it... anyone doing business with stocklifts on ebay should be weary. So napa.... am I looking at 80 bucks each? Guess a phone call would be easy enough! thanks
  4. Anyone have a good line on some new ones. A few Links would be great.... I have been watching Ebay and haven't found any. I need them bad and no 4x'n till I get em... The oil pan can't take it. Thanks in advance!
  5. If this makes it in time and If you havent checked the studs that hold on your head.... you should. Use two nuts backed into each other and Torque em down to the final torque that is suggested in the manual, before you install gasket and head. One of mine stripped and I ruined the head gasket.... If i had just torqued on em first I coulda saved twenty bucks and two days waiting for a gasket. Course I would have had to wait a day for the proper helicoil kit to arrive so I guess its just a matter of mucking up the gasket. You don't really have to have the special socket tool to retighten the heads you can just loosen the rocker arms and retorque after warm up. I would go through a few weeks later and retighten all the bolts and nuts you can. I kept loosing non important nuts and bolts that hold things onto the engine till I just re-torqued everything I had taken off. Also how are the exhaust studs doing try to torque on those too if they strip its much easier to work on those with the engine outside the car if you need to. I think thats all the stuff I know of course.... I never split the block...... Good Luck
  6. Do your difficulties really total more than $1400? If I put half that into my car right now it would be like brand new again.....
  7. Might wanna look into an EA82.... I have put thousands of miles on the lifted hatch with all sorts a weight in it and even little thirteens under it, there is just no way I can stand up on the highway, and if theres a head wind forget it... I don't even get to pass trailer trucks unless there is a hill and I have drafted him just right:brow: they still catch up and pass me again its like tag on the interstate:rolleyes: Course I would like to see any one of those cars that pass me follow me off road. I think for what your looking to do you may just wanna stick bigger wheels and tires under something it will give you that presence your after....
  8. umm these are online for free too.... just so you know.
  9. Again, I can help you. Timing is going to be key if you get the engine before the 15th of dec. If not I wont be around till next year...... Send edrach a private message he may just be the man your looking for in regards to pulling an engine.
  10. Im thinking its got to do with the drive line!
  11. well now it would depend on the lug nuts they use... some arent very common. If you go with the Toy rims are you gonna change the hub or drill out the rim looks come into play here, and if you change your hub no more stock subaru bolt pattern..... I would go for 15" steel pugs with the normal lug nut. most advantages and tire choices for the money.
  12. If you know anyone into concrete? Im sure they could help.
  13. Rocks! and Subaru's make up good fun everytime! Now lets see the video.
  14. hopefully you wont get a flat while wheeling and need to use your four wheel drive to get out of someplace..... It might be worth getting the right size wheel and five of the same tire cause you can throw it into the rotation and make the tires last all the longer (course looks might matter) you should have the right size wheel and tire as a spare in case you get stuck someplace out there in main e aK land this winter.
  15. Living in New Hampshire and learning to drive there is what those pictures remind me of. Course I never had a subaru in those days....
  16. Im so glad that two subaru's set the high mark out there. No big monster chevy or lifted ford could even come close. now lets see the pictures and video everyone got I was lazy and didnt take any photos.
  17. hmmmm...... I'll call ya, and see whats up oh yeah the grand is open now right???
  18. yeah I have so much going on right now! What ya up to tomorrow?
  19. what brand inserts did you use? YOu might have already said in yonder thread but Im tired and headed to school!
  20. For me running a weber that is unemssioned my car does this same thing. I sorta dont even notice it anymore seems like it does it whenever, no real reason behind it that i have noticed. I just park it on a curb or hold in the break and pop the clutch listen for the shutter and wish it would backfire so all the people staring at the tan hatch dieseling down would go .
  21. A) Steering column swap... possiblly a steering wheel puller will be needed. but pretty basic after that never taken out the whole deal before but its all straight forward everything is of course metric. I have no idea if the swap you want to do will work however. B1)The rear left axle is also missing a boot.... most welded diff. guys run with one axle on the street, dont worry about it even if it explodes you got time, till you want to use your 4wd. C) Shifter feel. change the fluid and if you want to get into things follow the link. D) Clutch. pulling the engine might be easier... if you pull the engine you can do it easily by hand with help, and change some leak prone gaskets in the process. I think I stopped the engine once in 4th gear cant imagine why though!
  22. Sweet! another hatch changes hands:grin:
  23. Was the o2 sensor not covered under warranty? Were you asked to replace the sensor or charged for a new one? Cause If in fact the dealer has created a new problem with your car. Perhaps they damaged your 02 sensor or didnt replace with a new one or etc.... They are plugged into your cat. (dont know on the newer cars... pretty easy to find out if you want to crawl under the car and look for the plug that goes into your exhaust.) The computer on your car as well could need to be changed or kicked or whatever it is you do with the newer cars. I drive an 86 Anyways..... Be careful with your approach show confidence in knowledge of your car.(in other words re-search!) Its very possible they messed something up, they can fix easily. You shouldn't have to pay anything.... but to convince them of that! Good Luck:)
  24. I dont know if I can handle drinking lightly.... but Im going to try to be 4x4 ready by the 19th just the same. I can still come along, always up for a campout!!! Peace:cool:
