'91 Legacy Lift Options and Questions
I'm at PnP right now and there is a 97 OB that just came in. All struts are good. I'm going to pull the engine so come on down and I'll show you what to grab

'91 Legacy Lift Options and Questions
Just OB struts. I messed up and made two sets of rear spacers so you can have the extra set if you want them. You will still need the front set and the hardware though.

'91 Legacy Lift Options and Questions
Strut lift, body spacers, and trailing arms. Tires are 215/75/15 BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2. Edit: This does NOT include the strut spacers.

'91 Legacy Lift Options and Questions
I drilled one hole each. Axles were not affected by not having the trailing arms. With the arms installed the tires are more centered in the wheel well. I would get some rubbing before if my fat friend was sitting in the back seat. I still may add a spacer to push it farther back but we'll see how it does after it's field tested. Edit: Yes, I'm still missing a bumper and a lug nut.

'91 Legacy Lift Options and Questions
Just think leggo's. My car has parts from several different models and years. If I can find the right OBS all my lift and suspension parts will be transfered over. Someone needs to give monsteru a little competition.

'91 Legacy Lift Options and Questions
There is a good set of OB struts and springs at the Pick n Pull in Lynnwood right now. $28.99 each. If you want to see what a '91 looks like with the OB springs/struts/1" strut spacers and 1" body lift looks like I will have mine put back together soon. I live just down the road from PnP so I could meet you there and show you where the good stuff is.

lift kit install
I made my own this weekend...even had the kids help by sanding the burrs off. Total cost with hardware was $36. Wish I would have seen this sooner though. I would have gladly paid the extra just to be able to bolt something on versus 4 hrs of fab time, HDPE shavings everywhere, and smashing my hand a couple of times while drilling the center hole before I got smart and made a jig.

1997 Subaru Impreza Sport wagon
Damn...its gone. I've been trying to pick one of these up for two months just so I can swap over all my existing stuff. Let me know if you see another one over there.

Lifted Rigs 2012 roll call
'91 Leggo Stock 2.2 1" Outback Lift 98 Outback Springs on KYB Gr2's 215/75/15 BFG MT KM2's JDM Power Folding Mirrors Custom skid plate Safari Rack with Lights is missing along with the rear bumper. I'll get another rack someday but for now I'm focusing on a rear tube bumper and a bigger lift. Skid plate is sitting in the garage waiting for the lift to be installed first.

Sell or keep for parts?
Spent Saturday at Pick n Pull and picked up the lift spacers and trailing arms off an Outback. My transmission and axles are much happier. Tires are happier too now that there's no rubbing on the tight turns and they are centered in the wheel well. Still not as tall as I want her. Time to go bigger.

Wheeling OOPS....
Done that. Snapped a tie rod and had to leave it sit for a week in the woods. Hiked 5 miles until we got picked up by some friendly locals who gave us a ride back to civilization. Thank goodness the car was still digi camo then. It hid itself.

That's on my list too. I'm sure you will get to it before I do so take lots of pics. Wish I could have made it but I spent the morning stripping an Outback of it's lift spacers and trailing arms and the afternoon installing them. Fun in the sun both ways but I would have rather been behind the wheel instead of under the car.

I can't make it. My car is all torn apart right now. Looks like I'll be spending Saturday at Pick n Pull instead. Have fun!

EA dual range going into 99 Outback, a couple questions
dd, Are you going to do a write up on this when you're done? I've been looking for the same info since I want to put a D/R in my EJ. I keep searching for a write up but just keep finding bits and pieces.

Sell or keep for parts?
Hmm... maybe I will just wait until my trans needs to be replaced and focus on the lift for now.

Sell or keep for parts?
And you said it wasn't that hard. Sounds difficult to me especially since I have no fab tools.

Sell or keep for parts?
Not enough time! J/K It's definitely not a speed machine but I do a lot of driving in the 70-80 mph range. Lots of highway miles so I still want the top end. It's no longer the daily driver since it takes half a tank to get to work and back but I do drive it to the places I like to wheel, snowboard, and hunt. It will always be the "mountain car" so I need to keep it streetable. In regards to the GL tranny swap, there's lots of info regarding guys putting an EJ motor in an EA but not the other way around. Is it the same or is there more to it?

Sell or keep for parts?
How would that compare on the highway? I still like to drive fast!

Sell or keep for parts?
I found an RX tranny in SC but still looking for a local one. Anyone have one on the shelf?

I might be up for it. All depends if I can get rid of these damn CEL's. My gas mileage is suckin' right now because of it.
-
Sell or keep for parts?
Agreed. Although I may have found a cheap donor body to swap all my parts into. Either an 03 Outback or a 96 Imp. Outback. I'll figure it out someday. It just sucks when I have to drive by the "Brown Beast" everyday. Tex has done a nice job. The only problem with it is I've never seen it dirty.:-p Now I just need to find an RX tranny. Anyone local have one available?

Sell or keep for parts?
I guess I will keep it for now. I already miss my safari rack and light set up I sold thinking I was going to get rid of it. Comparing a newer OBS with my current setup the loss of cargo space isn't really worth the 110 lbs I would be saving. The OBS does look cooler though.

Sell or keep for parts?
I've been trying to decide what do with my 91 Legacy. I can't figure it out for myself so I thought I would throw the question out there for everyone here on USMB. She already has a suspension lift and the tires I like but needs a trans swap and body lift. Should I keep her and continue with the mods or buy an OBS and make a "Stella Jr."?
