  1. Pulled a 02 outback trans changed front diff and pinion total time 2.5 hours mind you was # 10 this year comes out in under 30 min
  2. You said was turning over funny = timing belt can pull ds cover and look inside but should be checked
  3. gas dose not compress as fast as the con rods do make sure you change oil will be full of gas
  4. have you checked if trans conectors are pluged in all the way ? also check fuses no power no shift also default is 2nd or 3rd only sure its stuck in first ? the only time I seen this is when the planatarys have piled up or wire harness is broken

The real diff is one is solid valve train one is hydro valve train I did the same swap last week no problems but ticked and ran funny till lifters pumped up took 40 of running is normal for the hydro lifter heads to take a while to find there valve adjustment did you remove the lifter blocks from heads ?
  6. +1 hydro locked pull plugs and rotate { carful should unplug coil do not want sparks when doing this }
  7. Check ground wire to frame on lower ps below air box housing and same ground wire on other side below batt
  8. Have put 2.2 heads on 2.5d works fine must use 2.5 headgasket and drill some holes in gasket
  9. 16 + years of fixing subarus have never seen a subaru coil not spark have seen them cracked damaged but never dead

Is the block grounded ? coil should not heat up have never seen a no spark form these dis units that was not the problems they had the bushing go out never seen a bad ig module I suspect bad wiring check small black ecu trigger wire outside shielding wires may be touching the signal part of wire critical the outside wireing dosent contact the inside wire or coil post as its a grounded shield wire
  12. Well by the time I see them is so bad cant tell what let go mostly bearings I have found that putting in 4.5 L of gear oil helps to keep awd alive. Keeps bearings in oil all the time I think low oil levels and downhill grades mess them up
  13. Had 4 calls this week all broken 5 speeds all bad awds all have noise in tail sections of trans do 5 broken standards to every one auto
  14. Takes about a 50 km drive to relearn the idle settings on drive by wire
  15. If using a pre 96 engine you must switch the intake wire harness throttle body and idle motor over from the 2.5 intake onto the 2.2 intake
  16. I see is a whole bell housing did it use Subaru flywheel and clutch or Toyota flywheel and clutch ? Thank you that's realy cool looking setup rwd subarus hmmmm
  17. Try having 14 -20 brokedown subarus at one time lol
