Dose the tach bounce when cranking ? This is my signal test for dis if all is working right the tach should move when cranking slightly try unhooking everything but The two wires from dis and the + power feed see if that gives it spark maybe tach is shorted or nosie supperser

Have never seen a 3.0 need headgasket yet seen burnt valve and cracked block and broken pistons but that's it

On mine the fan housing was warped just had to recenter fan and trim slightly under it the fan cage was touching the mounting plate just slightly enuff to make noise. or you have a mouse nest in it

Takes me about 2.5 hours But 1rst change cabin air filter mabee its gross a heater core will have a sweet sugary smell to it and fog up window when driving or drip on floor also check that the air door is on fresh air not recyle air setting this can cause fog up good luck

When I do stuff like that is critical you check that bolts do not bottom out in thread bore as this can cause cracks inside engine

Use one from more modern car like a 01 legacy had better switchs that did same job

There are some rubber plugs under carpet poped loose ? or hole in wheel well

The ex valve guides have droped have had many with this problem pull header look up port check the heights of valve guides the ones closest to the port are the worst. The one I just did yesterday had 4 out of 8 ex guides droped and they had broken bottoms of guides and would not let valves close. Misfireing poping rough idle lack of power. the local machine shop knurled and pressed in new guides and engine was fixed and ran 100% better

About 4 hrs work intake harness and TB and idle motor has to be swaped over unless is exact year engine
