Lost AWD in a 95 legacy outback
Did you check the passengers side firewall behind the shock tower. That would be where I start. If that yields nothing then I would pull the codes to see if there are any stored in memory.

Problems Subarus are prone to...
coloradosubarules replied to Kakadu's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI would go with the 2.2 (because I have one with 240K on it) and from what I hear there is a company called CCE or CCR that stocks the 2.2 and the conversion kit. I hope someone will chime in and supply the website link.

New car question
The timing belt should have been replaced at 60K on the 2.2's. When I replaced mine I did the oil, cam, and crank seals. The water pump had been replaced by the previous owner. Hope this helps.

New car question
If it has the 2.5 then you might want to ask if the headgaskets have been replaced. If my memory serves me correctly they were known for bad headgaskets. Ask when the last time the timing belt was changed as well. If the timing belt was changed ask if they changed the water pump and seals while they were in there. Hope this helps. You might want to do a search on the board for "gen1 2.5"

Hello!!!
mudduck, if your post does not get moved automatically by an admin then you might want to post in the marketplace. Something like this: WTB: Horn for 91 loyale. You could buy one from the parts store. So where in CO did you move from? I moved to FL from CO. Is your name Jeremy by any chance? I only ask because I had a friend who went by the name of MD (mudduck because we used to talk on CB's and his was always in the weeds) Rage (because he was a huge rage against the machine fan)

Daystar Spacers
Are you refering to the coil spring spacers that they sell on ebay? If so you won't have a problem if the springs are the same size as the spacers and you don't go to tall as to throw off things like brake lines..etc. I used some on my 88 XJ and they worked great. I put those thru hell and never failed me.

Need CATALYTIC source?! Got any?
I do believe it would be you O2 sensor that keeps the CEL off. I gutted my cat and my CEL is off. I beleive you have an O2 before the cat and one after. I still do not believe you would have a problerm. All cats have to meet a certain standard in order to be sold. Even the high-flow cats have to be made to the EPA standards. But the $180.00 cat. You should be just fine.

05 Legacy Wagon GT-180˚ - Help!
coloradosubarules replied to a post in a topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt's almost like saying, "I was pulling a trailer with a boat on it and when I went to slam on the brakes it didn't stop like it does with no trailer." When you push your car to the limits when it is loaded to the limits...the sky (heaven) is the limit. Be carefull and drive safe please.

coloradosubarules replied to ringe's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI bet that guy lives a 1/4 mile at a time..Winning is winning. LOL I found a turbo (real turbo not a hair dryer) for my 93 probe GT on ebay last night for $50.00 I almost bought the turbo but I am saving for a new tranny for it. I can't see making the engine redline and be all-show and no-go.

If he has a turbo and is proud of it then he will have no problem showing you whats under the hood. Tereto - "pop the hood" Brian - "pop the hood" Tereto - "pop the hood"

Did you burp the cooling system? I mean really burp it.... Filling the cooling system is fine and dandy but it needs to be 100% air free.
