  1. Put one hand on the back egde of the shroud and just give it a good pull. It just pops on and off. Hope this helps.
  2. I paid $700.00 for my 90 legacy AWD Auto wagon with 200K miles on it. It needed a battery, 2 axles, and a fuel injector. I have put 40K on it since. Talk them down if you can. That is pretty high. Oh yeah..I just bout a 93 legacy AWD wagon with 30K on it for $1000.00 The deals are out there...keep looking.
  3. The car is mint!! It belonged to a lady who passed away. Her son got it and stuck it in his garage. My cousin owns a garage door company and just happened to be installing the sons new door. He knows I have a Roo so he asked the guy about it seeing as it was covered in dust. The guy said he'd take a grand for it so he did. Is there a safe way to dolly it 2K miles?
  4. My cousin in CO calls me tonight with the amazing chance to purchase a 93 legacy AWD L Wagon with 30K Original miles!!! Original tires too!! They only want $1000.00 for it!! My Irish eyes are smiling. My other cousin (cousin in CO's brother) lives just north of me and is buying a toyota truck off his brother so he is flying out and driving the yota back with my new toy in tow. It is the spiting image of my car....same color and all!
  5. I wouldn't run more than a 31 with the D35. Anything bigger deserves the old reliable D44. If it was me I would have D44 with one of those new electronic lockers by eaton. Chomoly axles and U-joints. Screw it!! A pair of rockwell Dueces!! With pinion brakes!! Thats what I'm talking about!!! What was he running for a TC? Gears?
  6. He needs to call Denny driveline. Get a CV shaft. I miss my jeeps...
  7. I beleive for the price of the 2.5's HG repair you could swap in a 2.2 with low miles. I have read a few threads on here regarding the matter so if you do a search you might yeild more results. I know alot of people either do the swap when they go or would like to. Please don't quote me as I am only repeating what I have seen in other threads. Hope this helps. Maybe someone could post the link to CCR....
  8. The thread poster lives in CA. My T-stat works great. I always turn the car on and let it idle to open the T-stat and then fill it. With the black screw off.... Try it.
  9. I am looking for places that the FL Roos can take our vehicle and have some AWD fun. Please keep in mind that most of the roos that would be going are bone stock with no lift..(except Raven) Does the ONF have trails with minimal mud? I don't mind the sand. Kinda makes me wish that Daytona was still open to driving on the sand. That would have been awesome for a meet and cruise. I was looking at ravens pics from yesterday in the ONF and I must say that is some sick mud. My car would be under water in most of those shots. Any ideas..........
  10. Burp your coolant system real good!!! If you have questions on how to do so please ask and I will walk you through it. Pretty simple. Alot of Roo's overheat because of air trapped in the system. Mine did it twice so but I burped it and had no more overheating problems. Try some block seal as a temp fix. Maybe you could prolong the magic untill you can save up for the HG repair or a 2.2 engine swap.
  11. Without the T-stat you engine does not build up as much pressure and heat in the block. I know aftermarket companies offer different opening degrees but can you find one in OEM? Maybe yo could find one low enough that you could keep your T-stat and your heat/MPG... Hope this helps. I do believe the t-stat only operates on heat...not pressure. See what I am saying?
  12. NNNNNIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCEEEEEEEE!!! Extremely jealous! I so wish I could have been there. Let me know when you want to do it again. Shortbus was telling me today that he wants to get the jeep dirty before he sells it. Maybe he would let me ride shotgun... Sound good????
  13. Ddddddaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. If there is a way would someone please let me know too. Maybe my car could send me a PM telling me it needs gas or oil, perhaps show me a pop-up of a CEL code. "you've got no oil" "good-bye transmission" "Welcome....to the joys of owning a Subaru." 1990 Subaru Legacy L wagon AWD Auto now with USB 2.0 Version 2.2 4EAT
  15. Here is my Roo.. Yes that is a mountain. I am in Estes Park, CO. That was the tamest part of the trail. I also encountered a bear on that trail. Not like "oh look kids..a bear." More like "OMG A BEAR..START THE CAR! ROLL UP THE WINDOWS!!! LETS GET OUT OF HERE QUICK!!!
  16. Speaking of sleepers... My 90 legacy is a real sleeper. When I step on the gas it acts like it is sleeping and just never really seems to wake up. I think a turbo would wake it up.
  17. The 17th is a holiday...3 day weekend for some. That is why I am having my meet on the 15th. Is there someone out there that actually likes feeces pizza?
  18. Now I really wish I never moved from Lakewood to this god awefull pit of humidity and bad drivers! Yall should come to my meet on the 15th of Jan in Orlando, FL...LOL
  19. It looks like a cross between a car from mad max beyond thunder dome and christine. The off-road chritine. If it gets hurt the CB comes on and rebuilds itself.
  20. I almost bought one of the Lambo SUV's. It was going CHEAP on ebay. I am kinda kicking myself for not buying it and just parking it in my garage.
  21. I built it myself from peices of stainless pipe you can find at the home depot. It was really easy to do. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but it works real good. You could probably do some reseach on the net and find which GPS devices are supported with your MS software. I know my road atlas 2005 will support pretty much any USB or Serial device. Open up your MS GPS application and look for "devices" or something along that line. From what I hear MS S&T is a good program. I know they sell it with a GPS reciever but they might sell it software only for all I know. Pics posted. It only cost me about $10.00 to build.
  22. I use a Delorme Tripmate and my Panasonic Toughbook. I have a custom made laptop mount in the legacy and a 12volt inverter to run it all. I am running Delorme street atlas 2005 on the laptop. It is cool because it shows me turn by turn and also speaks the directions. It has all the point of interests and pretty much ever store, restaurant, and gas station in north america. I bought the GPS unit at a local thrift store for $2.00 ( I was stoked) the software set me back $50.00 at circuit city and I had a laptop. If you are interested in going the laptop route then I would check ebay for the delorme USB GPS units. Mine is a serial port version and works great (And you can pick them up for a few dollars on ebay) but you will still need software for either the USB or serial version. Most of the USB versions include the software for around $100.00 If you have a laptop already I would suggest going this route. (no pun inteneded)
  23. I would recomend using an OEM pump and T-stat. You can get a pretty good timing belt from your local auto parts. You can use oem if you want. I beleive there are a few different kinds of compound that the belt can be made out of. So therefore there are different prive ranges on belts. I really didn't know there was a difference either... Hope this helps...
