  1. I think companies use these rating numbers for a reason. Safety perhaps. Sure you could put a a motorcycle on your roof but I wouldn't reccomend it. Come on people..use your brains! Don't overfill the fluids, over torque bolts, overfill tires...and overload your roof racks or trailer hitches. Do it for safetys sake!
  2. I just replaced the O2 sensor in my 90 legacy wagon and it is running pretty good but now it is giving me the 42 code. WTF! What is it and what does it do? How do I fix it? What will it do or not do untill I can fix it? Thanks everyone for looking. I appreciate everyones input. Even if it is to say I am SOL! What does the Subaru God (Josh) have to say?
  3. Here is the link to his store. I hope this helps. http://stores.ebay.com/Mac-Auto-Parts-and-Accessories
  4. I went to autozones website and put in the same info with different years and the part numbers were different. That tells me that it is not the same part. Buy it and try it.... If if does not fit..I told ya so. Best wishes.
  5. I just ran the numbers and I regret to inform you that they will not interchange. Sorry. Maybe you should try another parts store or www.subaruparts.com
  6. If you are willing to make the trip I know where there is a 90 AWD Wagon L with the about the same milage for only $1,500.00 and I bet the guy would take 1,200 for it.
  7. I'm glad we could be of assistance. I think tie rods are a reallly easy, important thing you could do to your car. I had a dodge caravan that would shimmy and wonder due to a bad tie rod. It didn't take that long to replace them and I had peace of mind as well. The only hard part was getting the old inner tie rods off. I had to use a 9in adjustable wrench to get them off and they were in an odd place so I could only get 1/4 turn before having to rotate the wrench. Good luck. I have faith in you.
  8. What years and what models will give me the tranny I need for my EJ22 legacy AWD wagon?I was looking at one out of a 99 legacy with low low miles but it was $750.00 Any ideals?
  9. My 90 legacy's tranny is getting sloppy as well so I am contumplating a new/rebuilt unit as well. I wonder if there is anyone I can trust to rebuild it in FL or if I am better off getting a newer legacy and parting mine out or just keeping it for a beater. I put alot of miles on my car so I need to know I can depend on it. First gear engages fine but slams into second and then hesitates into third. I have the ext tranny installed and I have done my best to change the fluid at regular intervals but I have yet to change the filters and I am at 239K. I don't want to do all that work just to need a new tranny. Hmmm....
  10. An update on this thread would be great. I have a 90 legacy that is shifting funny and I am wondering what I should do. How hard is the 5mt conversion?
  11. It's really easy to do if you were thinking about doing it yourself. Just mark both ends in the the middle so that when you assemble the new ones they are the same length as to avoid the need for an alignment. Be sure to use new pins, boots and clamps. Hope this helps.
  12. I feel stupid now. I byou haven't seen a 92 1/2 Legacy AWD GT Turbo wagon Mi with LSD's. I have the only one in the country and it's not for sale...
  13. Does this mean our reman parts will last longer too? Why can't Subaru buy out all the rest of the car companies and then the world could drive safe, reliable cars? The trucks would have EJ60's Luxury cars would have EJ50T's Sports cars would have H30SC's (super charged) You could put SubaNOS in your Roo. We would have GooRoo tires... Sorry..I was thinking if Subaru took over the world.
  14. To my knowledge these aren't all that rare. If you had a 91 turbo wagon with the LSD's then you might be looking at some more chedar. A friend of mine had a 94 Mi addition wagon and he couldn't sell it for $1,500.00 and that thing was loaded with all the toys. It makes me happy that I only paid $700.00 for my 90 AWD wagon.
  15. If you feel that you are getting a good deal and it is in your region....go for it! Hope I was of some help.
  16. Just do what I did and wire up an aftermarket socket. I put one in my center console so I could run my laptop off it. I tried using the one in the dash but I need it on 24/7 so I don't have to restart the puter when I shut the car off. I went a bit overboard with 1 guage to the battery and a scosche circut breaker but it is peace of mind when I connect my toys to it.
  17. Yes...... go to your local auto zone IN SWEDEN and get a rebuilt caliper. What I am trying to say is visit your local parts store and price a new or rebuilt model.
  18. Check ebay. You can get a great price on a used impreza. The WRX has tons of aftermarket parts available. You won't be dissapointed. You could probably even find one tricked out the way you want at a price you are willing to pay. For leg room info you might want to swing by your local dealer and pick up a booklet regarding the model you are interested in buying. I have seen them available on ebay but why pay for something that you can get for free. We will be here for you....as long as you buy a subaru. After you purchase one feel free to join me at the 01-15-05 Florida Subaru meet in Orlando. (shameless plug) Good luck.
  19. Change the O2 sensors. Those usually controll the A/F mixture. My O2 (only have one in the 90 legacy) was bad and it gave me a CEL so I pulled the codes and then found a sweet deal on ebay for an OEM O2. I payed all of $60.00 and I could then breath again and I used alot less gas too. I used to go thru half a tank from my house to west palm beach (45 min) and now I use less than a quarter of a tank.
  20. Thanks for the tips. I always air down the XJ before hitting the trails so I guess my roo would be no different. I have on-board air that I could just bring with me. I also have auto deflators that I use on the jeep. I just set the pressure and screw them on. Within a matter of seconds I am aired down and hitting the trail.
  21. I have a jeep with 33's... I know a little about off roading. I just want to know how the legacy will handle the sand before I take a trip up to my favorite wheelin spot. Yes I could take the jeep but the roo is better on gas and I just want to see how it does.
  22. Here in FL there is more sand than snow in Alaska and I was wondering how these cars are in the sand. I have new tires intalled with a good M+S tread. No lift. How do these cars act in the sand?
