If your car has electric locks then you do not need actuaters. If your alarm (assuming you have an alarm and not just keyless entry) with the keyless entry provision you will need dual relays for the power locks. Some systems have the relays built in but most do not. For the relay diagram please visit www.the12volt.com you willl need to register but it is free and you will find everything you need to complte your install. If you have any more question please feel free to ask. I used to own my own car autdio shop so alarms are nothing new to me. Hope this helps. When you unlock the door the pos (+) signal is sent thru one side of the two wires you speak of, when you lock the door the pos (+) is sent thru the other side. This is why you have to use relays.

Anybody have any dates in mind. I was thinking we could have the meet outside the twistee treat on Goldenrod in winterpark, FL. There is a big parking lot there. Froggers in Oviedo, FL is also a pretty sweet location. It really doesn't matter to me as long as there is plenty of parking for everyone. Anybody have a place in mind besides what I mentioned?

I have a spare pair of fenders sitting in my garage that I have been thinking about shaving the parking light area on. The fenders I have now are rusted out at the bottom near the wheels so it looks like arse. Whats involved with pulling the old fenders? I remember having to sawzall the donors off the bumper cover but I didn't pay too much attention as to how I would have done it if I hadn't been trying to strip a car in one evening. (yes I bought the car off ebay) Besides...If it doesn't look like something should go there then I can't get a ticket for it. Anybody have any mods they would like to see done to a 1st gen leg? I am thinking of getting the body 100% straight (hail damage) and painting her WR blue pearl.

666 here is what I said in a nut shell..."When I saw your car I got my rocks off and if I owned that car I would no longer need the services of my wife or adult entertainment." What are the chances of getting a very hot UK'er (female) to pose naked on the hood and sending me some high quality pictures? Liz Hurley will do nicely. Thanks, Greg from across the pond

It might be possible that when you hit bambi that you shorted a wire just for a second and killed that blinker relay or a fuse perhaps. Check your fuses and replace the blinker relay. It is under the dash I believe on or near the fusebox. In the old cars they were silver and called flasher relays or mudules. They just plug into the box.

I have seen alot of EJ22 into VW's so I am assuming it the way to go. There are plenty of people on the board that have done the swap so just hangout for a bit and see what everyone has to say. Good luck

EJ22 in my 86 Mitsu Montero??
coloradosubarules replied to coloradosubarules's topic in Subaru Transplants
I bought mine for $200 and it was sold so cheap because it idles real high. Small world I guess. I dold my Montero to someone who has the time to put into it. With my new project at work I won't be around much to toy with it so I figured I would let someone else give a stab at it. Good luck guys. -
I used to be an installer so I will let you pick my brain for a second. I would reccomend going with the OEM size of the speakers, front and rear but just upgrading to a better speaker. You might want to consider a front speaker system that includes a tweeter, mid-bass woofer and crossover. A lot of the times the maker will give you a few options as to how to mount the tweeter. If you do not want to alter your car then you could just surface mount them. Here is one of my pattented tweeter tricks...put both of them behind you review mirror pointing at the glass. The sound bounces off the glass and it doesn't give you that funny "why are the highs so high when I turn my head like this" kinda stuff. As for the Subwoofer: I know the Impreza line has an available sub-woofer that is mounted under the passengers seat but I do not know what the do in ohter countrys. Usualy you can buy and amp and sub in a box for the price of that OEM sub. Once again..what you want and where you want to put it are up to you. I n the back of my 90 Legacy wagon I have (2) 12 woffers in a box that fits nicely between the wheelwells. The Amp is mounted on the back side of the smallest rear seat (60/40 design) by removing the carpet and padding then replacing the padding with a piece of plywoodm then re-attach the carpet and screm wht amp onto the back of the seat. I also ran the wires under the carpet and cut little holes for them to exit through near their respective connections. If you install and amp yourself please keep the following in mind: Run the audio out from your headunit down one side of the car and the power down the other to avoid noise in the system. Always use the reccomended guage for your power and speaker wires. Ground the amp very well. Us an in-line fuse under the hood! Not in the car. You want it as close to the battery as possible. Never excede the amp rating of the fuse that comes with your Amplifier. They make it that way for a reason. Make sure your speakers are the right polarity. Never splice your OEM harness. Get an after market one and do it to that. when looking to purchase an amp always go by the RMS ratting. Most times companies use peak wattage.

I would price rino lining. Spray it on a 1/4 inch thick (max) and you will be good to go. Just take out all your seats and the carpet ans spray it on. Make sure you mark the bolt holes and tape off anything you don't want to get it on. Before the stuff dries just peel the tape off. I did it in my jeep amd it works great. You might want to consider doing your door panels and firewall too. I've even seen people do the underside of the hood and in the spare tire area. It's available in alot of colors so you don't have to worry about hiding it. I even sprayed a speaker box I bulit with the stuff. Lets just say that box is water proof and bomb proof now. Hell....my garage floor is covered in it too. Except I used the Glow-in-the-dark lining for that. It is SWEEEEET!

www.4x4trails.net please also see www.treadlightly.com I am not a tree hugger but please do not make your own trails. The government is closing places to go wheelin on a daily basis. We can't afford to lose anymore. -
Dynamat aye... Does your 8" woofer hit that hard or do you just want to keep out the cold/heat? That stuff isn't cheap. You could also try spray in bed liner sprayed on pretty thick. It isn't as expensive and it is easier to apply if you know what you are doing. I think they actually sell it in cans now. Just trying to save you some $ My 90 legacy wagon only shakes the spare tire area and the license plate and I am running 800 watts.
