Stellaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!NEW PICS!!!!
So I am driving yesterdayand look down to see how much I was speeding from thhe feel of it,and realize the speedo is erratic. And when i say erratic it was from 0 to 60 in like, a nanosecond. UhOH, :)damnit, ************ ************ damn....is what I thought. Then finally had a chance to take a look, seems to be from the speedo cable(trans end) that had come loose.Hopefully that is the culprit because it iis throwing a code for the speed sensor so it wanted to force it into limp mode. LA-ame, especially going down the freeway:banghead: It SEEMS that BEcause the two codes are combined ( 0743, and 1507, with the occasional 1540) the vehicle exhibited absolute detriment. It failed to stay running at one point and loaded the torque converter down with fluid and had absolutely nuthin.Ok, damnit, WTF do i do now.Still rolling, ************ , neutral .start the car, starts, no codes( due to my on the fly code clearing)runs fine.Come on baby just one more block to work and I don't have to leave you to the vultures. pull in to gas station, damn, so close.got like 15 minutes till work.Half block away.Go inside, get recovery drink.Walk out.clear codes again.Take off like a bat out of hell due to my anticipation of bogged down nature .Crazy.Work, on time. Damnit it's afternoon and I have to get home....:banghead:Gottta get to an appt. directly.I5 , her I come.Haulin rump roast, musta clearedd about 5 sets of codes to get her there. Got home, checked out the cable, then snugged her up.Then came in. I really need to fix this damn leak. ************:DDamn, I have to work on my car. cheers

I have been throwing around ideas, But weight is something I have been thinking about. And , I seem to have the ability to stuff and stow ************ everywhere.I took out the rear hatch interior because I got tired of it being wet from last spring,Thought I had fixed the leak until I came over to the wetsidE and found it again. I think I am growing gills, which is weird for a bird, man, i'm tellin ya. I think that I gained about 5 cubic feet if not more just by taking out the stupid plastic on the sides. Even though I will have a case for the tools and parts, being able to stuff fluids and rags, and soft parts into the rear body crevices. cheers

I just think it is a waste on a car like this.I found that I had the fuse out all the time anyway. So, when I installed rear disc's, I just cut the sensors off. OK, so , an update. New Thermostat from Subaru, check. CLicking from axle fixed, check. Leak over the taillight, hopefully check:banghead: The rear Lsd has calmed down , it needed to work the fluid in after sitting in a field for 2+ years. It works:drunk:. The solenoid B is gone out on the transmission.I got another from Eulogious yesterday.(Thanks BRo)I will probably attempt to install it this week , may have time, may not. I picked up an old carpenters kit box from my boss that he was not using. I will be using it inthe back hatch area for tool/parts storage. BLah blah...... Here is a picI shot in a parking lot last weeek next to a stock Outback:Just for reference;) cheers wheelin trip soon to Tahuya.I will post up a count thread!cheers:drunk:

Check this out if you wanna Go Wheeling are Stock and are in the PNW!!! Free 2" lift
Do a 53 Willys wagon, Dodge diesel, 1983 Chevy 3/4 ton, umm ,I could go on. My Dodge is easy to work on.Everything is right out there where you need it to be. My Willys, the same thing.I have broken more tools working on Subarus then anything else. Some cheap, some not. end of story.

Check this out if you wanna Go Wheeling are Stock and are in the PNW!!! Free 2" lift
I have broken breaker bars(2 in a day),split sockets, had to use 6 ft extensions, and had to give up(which I am not accustomed to)All obviously when I had no access to air tools. They are easy to work on as long as they have been maintained-ish.I have worked on a lot of other vehicles as well. The difficulty I speak of is an initial front or rear axle change, a frozen on rear diff stub, the infamous drivers side rear most bottom bellhousing bolt. All of the situations I speak of are very challenging for people that start out weith little to no tools, and or no know how.....************ , even with know how a stuck axle nut is a stuck axle nut. Point being is that are difficult situations that come up with these cars all the time. Don't mislead a guy that is soon to be in over his head anyway. What is easy for you, may not be easy to someone else , simply due to resources. Don't take it out of context , right? I have only had like 44 of these things.....:-p cheers

Here is a walk around video. No talking , but you get the point.Yes I need to adjust my valves.I just have been runnin around trying to get over to the wetside for work. I will take care of it soon. 1997 Impreza AWD 4.44's,LSdiff out back. suspension upgrades cooling system upgrades new tires I already wired in a second fuse block for the future lights,cb, and ancillaries. I have a turbo alternator that I need to put in. It drives well, has a few clunks here and there. The rear end may be a little tight , or completely shot.If so then I will just plop an vlsd in there. It chatters till it warms up.A front axle is clicking pretty bad, but the boot is good, and it barely shudders under pressure. Besides the valves, the engine runs awesome. Its even got guts with the auto.. welp, hope you like her. cheers

DIY strut lift blocks
It could be done of you inset a nut somehow.I would not use a long bolt as the stresses are amplified the farther away the mounting surfaces are. I basically did those because I wanted to show people how they could do a strut lift themselves.Inn smaller sizes of course.I however did 2 inchers.Which comes with other issues.Like mounting, etc... I ended up using my metal strut blocks , because I did not have time to figure out the mount issues in time. These blocks are actually like 2 5/8ths ish the rest of my blocks are 2"ers....Thought I should clarify that I may come back to them eventually, but for anyone that is JUST doing a STRUT LIFT, I would recomend 1.5 inches and under for sure. I will say it again. You can do this with a drill, hacksaw(with wood blade), and some time, enginuity, maybe a few barley pops, and some love for your garage. anyways. If youa re not using the suspension in it's full range , you could get away with higher on just a strut lift.It seems that The magic number is cheers

WElp.She is home.I have an exhaust rattle,And a P0743 DTC. The crazy thing is that the TRansmission shifts gears just fine,Got it up to 75ish and was a good runner. This vid shows what it shows: New exhaust cat back from 05 STI w/super low miles.Never even ran in the rain. I will make a new dog bone tomorrow, Then I can clean the car up and out of stuff, so I can drive it and look for noises.Adjust Cheers

Phase 1 4EAT with phase 2 TCU

It runs! Primed her, ran her at 1800 ish for about 20 minutes. She purs , aside from the clack 'o'valve. Will adjust when suitable. I WILL run it hard.I promise. I am excited to drive it, but there are a couple small mechanical issues to be worked out. Right after priming.Going for it.The pit in my stomach was horrible. Then finally: cheers

Stellaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!NEW PICS!!!!
About the exact time you posted I had just figured that out by going to parts stores.3 to be exact. I happened to come to the conclusion from memories, remembering the years that were based on transition.I figured to ask for '90 :Legacy.Figuring that '89 and '91 were at the fore and aft of the engineered thought process. The lengths of axles are based upon compressed length. The first gen axles are between 26.45 or something , up to 27. The Impreza axles are 30.somethin. There was a no difference in fitted length. I was stoked . Last night I was kinda worried I ************ed myself. First, we primed her proper.Then... Then we realized that the crank angle sensor had a broken wire.So after soldering that *************** we got down with some start action. Then did the recomended break in time for the cams.It was a nervous time, but It seems like the only thing to worry about is the valve adjustment and random Passenger side front hub/axle weirdness. Don't know if it is relatedd, but The trans has a discrepency as well.It says that the torque converter clutch solenoid circuit P0743.Lookin at that as we speak.... Anyway, The engine is running!!! Some valve adjustment and some minor other mechanical issues seem to be the only stumps to jump.Tomorrow is another day, plug away . cheers ClICK PIC FOR VIDEO!!!!

Got the rest of the Lift in today.Ended up using the metal lift pieces in the rear too. IT worked out. I also got the trans mount done too.So the transmission is installed. Built the 4.44 LSdiff.Have to get different axles. It seems that I have a different spliined diff currently. So, new axles I guess. We will be firing up the motor tomorrow.Woot!!
