  1. No inspections here, plus I would keep the old exhaust just in case.
  2. Been searching, have not found much on exhaust mods. There is a ton of stuff for the ‘old gen’ cars but not much from ‘new gen’. Might be the fact that your exhaust systems cost more than a lot of the ‘old gen’ cars? I have a 98 imp ob, with an ej22. I’m thinking about building an exhaust just like my EA81. Gutted cat, into a 2.25 pipe, glass pack about two feet back from cat, then 2.25 all the way back. I realize that I would need to weld O2 fittings into the system. Also lack of back pressure might be problem. Would the lack of back pressure and lack of cat cause a check engine light? Would I gain anything? Or would it just sound like my old ea81?
  3. Pulled the line this morning, seems to flowing??? Any thoughts??? :-\
  4. yea I know line your talking about, its hooked up. Although I'm not sure I'm getting anyflow through it. I'll pull it and see if is flow'n. thx brady
  5. OK OK here are the details: -ea-81, pushrod motor , recently rebuilt. -weber 32/36, manual choke with no fuel return, not sure what the jets are but I think they are too big. -Runs OK, lots of power, bad mileage It starts right up without choking, runs well. Between 5-10 mins into my drive the throttle will get stuck WFO. I pull over pop the hood and the base of carb is covered in ice. Playing with the throttle linkage for a sec or two seems to free it up and it runs great the rest of the day. Any ideas? I live in a very humid climate, but not cold. This occurs at temps as high as 45F.
  6. Yea, I'm in about 4miles out of B'ham off MBH. Oh Clayton, did your get some motor mounts? I have used ones in my shop... brady.ohare@gmail.com

  13. So it looks like there are multiple options to get where I want to go. I have a line on a turbo gl-10 ($100). My reasoning to get this car is the rear disc brakes and coil over shocks. If the flywheel, pressure plate & drive line will swap over for my 5-speed conversion that would be ideal. Sounds like it will???? :-\ Or maybe I just need a driveline and and new ea82 clutch. I do have the 8 7/8 flywheel... Thanks for help...
  14. Good call on the clutch... So are you saying that I can turn down my ea81 flywheel? And use a ea81 clutch (new) and ea81 pressure plate??
  15. I have an 83 ea81 with 4spd. d/r, and want to swap in a 5spd. d/r. I have read though all the threads, seems straight forward. Here is my question: I have a trans, but need the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and driveline from an ea82. Will a GL-10 with a high range/push button work as a donor for those parts or do I need to take them from a ea82 with a d/r?
  16. Yea, I'm hooking up with group starting out in Mt Vernon at 9am.
  17. Jam an old screw driver into the slot which clamps the bearing housing onto the stut. Pry it open a bit.
  18. i'M GAME! I'll be ready to leave B'ham anytime Friday, just shoot me a PM. I'll even hook up th CB!
