  1. At least you got it back undamaged...Congrats!
  2. Letting others play with the dates..see what works for others..or even if enough people want to show.thinking mid to end of April..let it get warmer
  3. rice rice rice...but its ok..my Loyale has some rice..Is this rice or what LOL
  4. I replaced the whole harness to the Alt..and treated the new wires with protector( can't think of the name right now). Just as long as I have no more flinging pulleys or anythign drastic like that...and the frame doesnt buckle until I can get a new one fabricated...we "should" be OK...note the word should . And Yes I do solder..I am certified(or able whichever you choose).I am also fully trained in blueprint reading and wire schematics..used to build wire harnesses for too much stuff to list. Actually...March 19th at 9 EST on ..either History channel or Discovery channel..on Future Weapons...they are doing a feature on one of the products I make..The Boomerang
  5. I am about 25 minutes north of Danbury CT..or about 2 hours north of NYC..I can be at Harrys U Pull it in about 3 1/2 hours...and Bridgeport CT in alittle over an hour...dont know if that helps ya any ..LOL
  6. Nope Rocky is a 5 spd...I wont drive automatics ( I am such a wuss:rolleyes: ).. As of right now...he is running fine..charging fine..I think he is running a hair hot but that could just be the thermo sensor thingy needing cleaned etc. Going to take him to work tomorrow ( 40 mile round trip) and bring him in and retighten and check everything...then if all works out well..may take him to PA to Harrys or to help friends work on their car ( since they always help me). 1 hour..no break downs yet
  7. Well..I picked up Rockys welded crank pulley and am getting ready to head out and put it on ( I am getting good at this ...I have worked on this area so much now I can do it with my eyes closed). Buckys brakes are just about in absolute complete failure right now so ...Letting everyone know...If Rocky brakes down 1 ( ONE) more time ..just once ...in the very near future..I am stripping parts off him and sending him to the Subaru graveyard in the sky. I located the closest junk yard and we could drag his carcass with Tommys truck there. I am just stating this so that no one will try and talk me outta it... Melis has first dibs on anything she would need. So everyone pray to the Subaru Gods;) .
  8. Just tossing up the idea for one of my usual CT Subaru Cookouts..but this time with the possibility of a twist...Maybe in April??? but before Carlisle.. Anyway..Melis gave me the idea...of doing it but maybe involving doing Buckys brake system in the process.. I have the booster and master and if I can find the parts cheap enough to do the rear disk swap....Since Tommy is cluelss and I lost my car friend due to him having other issues...I could really use some wrenching help ..badly...I would supply all the food... Anyway..if you guys think its a probability...toss around some dates? If I am outta my stinking mind y'all can tell me that too:grin:
  9. Those unplugged connectors are for checking and clearing your codes on your ECU
  10. Wow what a difference!I so wish I had the time and /or tools to do all that I really want to to my cars. Lots of hard work you did there..congrats!
  11. I paid for 2 cars so at least ONE of mine is going to make it there...even if I have to push it  Actually..once i have the pulley mods done to Rocky he should be good to go..for a week or 2
  12. I bought a new tool today to help with body repairs..oooo pretty pop-rivet gun!!! ..couldnt help it when I was ordering the new serp belt.. I have officially come to a conclusion...when you own old Subarus you need 3 things on you at all times...Tools, AAA, and a sence of humor:grin:
  13. I have not even begun to get ready...cause I can't get the one running right long enough to get the other one in to fix brakes LOL:lol:
  14. Moosens is the man!!! helped me out big time today with Rocky...Story..Rockys new/used crank pulley was in mild self destruct mode after 2 days of using it..I was hoping it would hold out to my friend gets back from bike week in FL...well ..it didnt and this one went south 100X worse then the one that was originally on the car...this one actually spereated and slid apart completely...tossing and ruining the belt. This happens within 300 yards of leaving my job...I get him up the street about a 1/4 mile into a Lowes parking lot...all the lights are on and you can just smell the belt burning up....along with the temp almost reaching the red.I pop the hood and assess the damage..OK I might be able to temp fix this enough to get it home...After fasanating the 100+ men in the parking lot by whipping out a tool box and my 3/4 inch drive and about every tool needed..I forse the pulley back together..reset the tension on the serp belt ( It didnt braek but it did burn it abit)..started Rocky up..but the wobble was too much and I would be trying to fix this 400 times trying to get it the 20 miles back home. Made a couple phone calls...to keep me from having a stressed out mental breakdown..then called Moosens..He allowed me to use his Triple A account to get the car towed home..having to play phone tag for many calls ..between Paul...me and AAA ..Rocky is home in the garage safe and sound..Thanks to Pauls help not only did he save me a serious chunk of money..he got my car home and most of all...kept me from freaking out!...Tommy and me owe you dinner Paul...and I am getting AAA myself as soon as I can..I think Rocky will use up all 8 tows;)
  15. :slobber: WOW:eek: That a Beauty!!!!
  16. I just bought new tires for my XT6 ..it was running 205/60 15s..it is now running 195/65 14s ( I replaced the rims with stock pie cutters ) I rather run the narrower tire here cause of snow..thinner tires handle better. I agree with Skip ( he is about a Subaru Genius) with going over to XT6.net..those people live and breath these cars and know about every little mod you can make to them... And I love my XT6 too ...love to hate it at times:lol: when it runs good it runs great..when it is in one of its moods...I want to push it off a cliff.
  17. You are such the picture whore  ..LMAO..I want to see pics too. ..Also note...besides grounds..believe people when they say to check the crank pulley..just cause it looks ok doesnt mean it is ( this is what has been Rockys major malfunction since i got him)
  18. I am all depending on if the XT6 is having one of its off weeks or not ( seems to be good for a week..down for 2 )and if I can get around to doing Buckys brakes..if not ..dont worry about it...I wont refund my entries so hopefully we get the tents still..plus y'all will still have that camping spot if needed.Plus my one local friend here may bring down his XT6 or something...he has Jons white hatch and another red one with plow..I will talk to him more when he gets back from vacation .
  19. First off...go sign up over at XT6.net...thats all they deal with is the XT/Alcyone/Vortex line... Plus Congrats on the XT6..I recently got my fiorst one ...88 5spdfull time 4WD...its sure been quirky btu alot of knowledge between here and there...Mine runs like a champ now ( has a 23K mile Subaru factory crate motor in it) Can't be of much help to you since mine shifts fine but is due for a new clutch very soon..I would say check the fliuds first though
  20. Took Rocky for a spin this morning...he back talked me alittle at start up but he shut up once warmed up....have to recheck everything and make sure its tight..but he seems to be giving off better heat and not wanting to stumble and stall at stops..plus the volts arent dropping anywhere close to what they were at stops..so fingers still crossed..going to try and installhis new stereo today.
  21. That is very very very normal in cold weather to have the milky oil cap...its not milky on the dip stick is it? I think we have all fallen victim to that scare...its like the parking light switch on the top of the steering column:grin:
  22. Well...he is all back together and everything seems to be working again the way it should be ( I found someone local who actually had a good pulley handy..now I will get Rockys old one welded for a spare later) I will run him alittle bit more tomorrow then double check that everything stayed tight..I loctited everything that could come loose. Thanks for all the help guys!!! you Rock ...and operose...when do you want Rocky to do what you are doing to your friends XT ( the frame rail fixes;) )??
  23. I have fallen victim to the split crank pulley failure on the XT6...seems this is what has been causing all the issues...heading out in about 15 minutes to pick up a new one ( cause my welder friend went to FL on vacation) then I will have the old one welded together for future failure...I have resealed the rear window...can't find anything bent with the front wheel...yet but did find some scarey frame rot..but I will get that fixed...learn to weld or pay someone to do it later. Had the Alt tested and it was putting out 15.5 volts ...cleaned all the grounds and battery terminals...so we will see once I get it back together....the crank pulley bolts are a bigger PITA then EA82s...no eay way to shove a screwdeiver into the flywheel....anyway..we shall see
  24. Looks really good!!! Much better then before...Hard to believe its the same Brumby:headbang:
